Did not know that.

No Meghan will be referred to as her title The Duchess of Sussex, by marrying a Prince she will be Princess Henry, like Catherine is Princess William but she will be known as The Duchess of Sussex.

Well not a surprise then. But it's OK!
Dumbarton is pronounced with more of an emphasis on the 'barton', thank God!

The last Duke of Sussex (before Harry) was Queen Victoria's uncle who led her down the aisle to give her away to her future husband. I hope this satisfies a bit the dissappointed ones, I am thrilled with the Queens' choice, Sussex is beautiful!

The title has been used before but only on a Duke of Sussex, no Duchess though and it was created for Prince Augustus Frederick son of George III

Augustus Frederick was reputedly Victoria's favourite uncle. He was a bit of a goer, married twice in contravention of the Royal Marriage Act, and left two illegitimate offspring.

I like it but I know social media will have fun with the 'Dumbarton' bit.

If they have a son will he inherit the titles or do they revert to the crown when Harry passes?

They will go to his sons or daughters depending on what remainders are included in the title giving. I believe titles only merge with the crown when an heir becomes monarch, and then when someone dies without issue.

Dumbarton Castle is the oldest one in Scotland .It's like Edinburgh Castles little brother as it's also defended by a plug
Both previous Earls were also soldiers .Both were Jacobites and went to France with Seven and Twa

Important question: will they be the Sussexes or the Sussex's'? Will it come out "Successes" when said too quickly?

As expected, but Clarence would have sounded much better. Take note of the subsidiary Scottish earldom as it may be Harry and Meghan’s eldest son’s courtesy title.

The remainder is usually heirs to the body male, but do we know for sure in this case ? Have the LPs been published ?
