If we really wanted to nitpick, it would stand to reason that it wasn't a lie that Meghan's dad wasn't invited to the wedding. He was asked to be part of the wedding not invited to attend. Tom Sr. may have said truthfully to his other children that he wasn't invited to the wedding but omitted the part of being asked to be *part* of the wedding.

If this is the case, Tom Sr. is a pretty wily and crafty guy.

This is true. I would question anyone who uses Samantha and Jr as their source of information on anything Meghan related.

It also stands to reason that if anyone knows the character makeup of Samantha or Tom, Jr., it would be their father with the experience of their lifetime with them.

Actually, Tom Sr. was between a rock and hard place in all of this. It may have been a godsend that he lives somewhere remote from his family. Made it a whole lot easier to ditch questioning and refuse to be drawn into the squabbles.

It’s no wonder why he moved to Mexico for peace and quiet.....I doubt he ever thought his daughter would marry a prince.

I can totally see those two badgering Tom Sr. ‘’Did you get and invitation? Did you? Did you?’’
And he just told them, ‘nope, no invite came to my house’’.

Seriously, who sends invitations to their parents to attend their wedding?

I do apologise for my previous post about the sidewalk. I promise to be more careful in future.

Talking

Sam and Jr ran to the media flat out implying that Meghan had not invited their father, meaning Sr was not going to be at Windsor in any shape or form. KP's announcement on Friday made the half sibs look like (bigger) fools and liars. If Sr hadn't talked to his older kids about the wedding and his part in it Sam and Jr are not as close to their dad as they sold themselves to be. If Dad purposely gave them misinformation it shows he doesn't trust his older children. The tabloids may feel no shame for not thoroughly vetting these two before printing their stories, but I bet they are mad they paid money for bad information.

It wouldn’t surprise me if their next victim was their father.

I do feel for Tom Sr. He probably enjoys his quiet, drama free life in Mexico, but due to never imagined circumstances (who'd ever in their wildest dreams would think their daughter would marry a world famous prince, and be prepared for all that it brings), he's been pushed in the middle of his older children bullying his younger child, trying to use him as their way into Meghan's life. He also has to deal with the paparazzi, random strangers striking up conversations in order to get some inside info etc. For him it never before would've been strange to chat with random people, but now the random people work for tabloids. I think he might have struck a deal with some paparazzi, that he's pictured at certain situations, like the random book about Britain, or now getting his measures done, and the rest of the time he's left alone. Honestly, I don't blame him, if this is what he's done.

I think at first he was quite naive about Samantha, was manipulated by her, and did talk to her a little bit what was going on. But he seems to have wised up, and hasn't revealed any info in a long while. While Samantha exposed Andrew Morton as a liar by tweeting his texts about Sr and him attending the wedding, she also exposed herself to not knowing if he was going to attend or not, and having to ask from Andrew Morton if her own father was invited to her sister's wedding.

Two weeks to go. I have no doubt we will get pictures when Sr leaves for UK.

I think Morton set Sam up. First she wanted a ridiculous amount of money from Morton to sell info for his book about Meghan. Then she posted the texts to make him look bad. When Sam begged for information Morton gave her false information, knowing she would run to the press and sat back to watch her fall flat on her face.

Morton confuses me too. He sent Samantha those texts, that Sr will be at the wedding, but then publicly on Wendy Williams he said, that Sr isn't invited. He made himself look like a fool.

I had to laugh at this scenario which, although speculation, sounds reasonably plausible.

Best line to describe it is from Sir Walter Scott's poem "Marmion". "Oh what a tangled web we weave when we first practice to deceive."

My point EXACTLY!! Mr. Markle is her father he doesn't need an invite nor does her mother.

Parents don't get invites to weddings at all! And Mr. Markle is in the wedding.

Right, as keepsakes if nothing else. I've got my daughter's invitation to her wedding, of course she knew I was going, but it's a memento of the big day.

Get ready to eye-roll: I don't think her father was going until the last minute because they realized that it would look very bad if he didn't show up. That's why the last minute fittings. JMO, fire away...

It was said by multiple outlets, that he was going to walk her down the aisle from early on. I think it was Samantha, again, who got the 'None of the Markles are invited' ball rolling, and the press again ran with it. The Jr's idiotic letter fuelled the fire.

Everything Meghan has said in the past makes me think, that she would NEVER publicly humiliate either parent by not inviting them to such a public wedding. Her not wanting to tick either black or white box early on was partly due to loyalty to both her parents. Meghan not wanting to pick one friend out of few to be her maid of honour, imho, supports this. So, I very much doubt that she wasn't going to invite her father and was pressured to do so last minute.

I seriously think that to take *anything* that the media has presented (no matter from who) or try to put a "public optics" slant on anything that has to do with this wedding is just blowing smoke. These arrangements have been made a long time ago probably since the engagement was announced (if not beforehand). We were just not informed at that time because, frankly, we didn't need to know.

This is strictly Harry and Meghan's wedding. They're doing it their way as much as possible and I seriously don't believe that "public opinion" or "public optics" would change any of their plans whatsoever. They're allowing the public to witness their day and for that we should just be grateful, sit back and enjoy the party.

Who is to say what Tom Markle was getting fitted for. He may have fancied a couple of jackets for the summer, perhaps one to replenish his wardrobe for England.

I actually doubt that Tom would buy a morning suit for the wedding. Of what use would that be to him in his life in Mexico, unless he intends to go to Ascot for the races this year, lol.

There are plenty of gentlemen outfitters in London who hire out morning suits (if that is what he will be wearing) and would be pleased to accommodate him.

I think it is possible that Tom was going to send his measurements to London in order to get a head start on his wedding attire. The final alterations would need to be made on site, but at least the tailor has something to begin with.
