You know Meghan might stay at Frogmore on the eve of her wedding and leave from there to drive to St. George's. Just a thought.

I think that’d depend on how long the drive to church is planned. Frogmore is pretty close to St. George’s Chapel. She could always stay at a hotel.

I don't see there being enough privacy IMO at a hotel for a royal bride getting ready. Nor the security, for a carriage ride to start at the hotel. When Autumn and Peter married, Autumn stayed at the palace, and Peter stayed with Edward. Edward stayed at Bagshot and Sophie at royal lodge.

I assume they set them up in someone more private. At least the family and close friends. Most the hotels are already booked though I am some rooms have been blocked off with various hotels knowing they would be needed. How does that work? I get many guest are likely from area so maybe rooms not needed but with Meghan that is not really the case.

I agree, unless the entire hotel is rented out by the bride and her family & friends... and is staffed by trustworthy people, like the Goring for the Middletons.

Not sure about royal weddings specifically, but for event planning in general, they usually would sign an agreement with hotel(s) to reserve a certain number of rooms. And then guests can call to reserve rooms for themselves.

Meghan may arrive at St George in a carriage. I also would like to see the couple depart from the church or reception on the royal barge Gloriana or a similar smaller barge. The barge decked out with flowers and the flags have their dual cypher and dual coat of arms.

That was my thought. It would just be a larger scale with a royal wedding. And also likely somewhere else more secure and private like Frogmore to host those who they would like to keep from the public.

I confess I have no sense of the geography. How would that make sense? On what body of water? Especially if the reception is at the castle. I don't think they will go for many bells-and-whistles tbh. I'm thinking it will be very simple.

They will still have a carriage ride through Windsor even if both the ceremony and reception are on castle ground.

How many people can actually stay over at Frogmore? With the bride being foreign and most of her guests being foreign and other out of town guests, they might as well just reserve an entire hotel for this wedding. I can’t see Meghan getting ready at Bagshot or Royal Lodge. Frogmore can be an option, but they might just have to take a longer route if that’s the case.

That's what I've seen. But it was being suggested that they leave by water and I was wondering how that would work. I agree, though. It's been said (or reported) that they will do a carriage drive through the town of Windsor a la Edward and Sophie, but that it would be a much longer carriage ride than they had.

That just sound like a logistical nightmare given the number of people. There will be enough things that would go not according to the exact plan on that day as it is, that would just be terrible planning. On top of that, if they have a late morning wedding and guests have to change for the party, how would that work for the guests? And then you have some that will only attend the ceremony, and possibly some that will only attend the party. While Windsor isn’t London, they do have hotels that can accommodate if planned accordingly.

I won't be surprised if they have reserved an entire hotel. The press was going on about how the rooms sold out within minutes of the announcement it was in Windsor but I would bet that at least one of those hotels was the palace booking them all.
