I love Purcell's Trumpet Voluntary. Very stirring! I believe it was used at Princess Margaret's wedding.

Your post lead me to hear it on YouTube which lead me to watch parts of Williams wedding which lead me to watch Edwards wedding and then Andrews wedding..... what a lazy afternoon thanks Curryong for leading me astray

The Wedding March is played at UK weddings too I think.

Yep, both Wagner and Mendelssohn's wedding marches have been traditional here in the UK (except from in the Jewish community as Wagner was popular with the Nazis) since Princess Victoria married the Emperor of Prussia in 1858 as they used it at their wedding. Wagner's march is traditionally used upon entering whereas Mendelssohn's march is used more when leaving.

The Prince of Denmark's March is my favourite wedding march tune and I plan to use it at my own wedding in the future (exiting to Suite 2 of Water Music). I think it would also be nice though if Harry and Meghan had the beginning of Zadok the Priest to enter to.

:previous: While its lovely, not sure a coronation anthem in a wedding of someone who is not the heir. William and Kate will eventually be the heir and wife, so the use of a coronation anthem was fitting for them

Ironically on my last day off before back to work, changed channel expecting 'the chew' and got a hallmark movie because of the holiday. And it is starring 'Meghan Markle'. Guest at a wedding right now.

So Daily Mail is suggesting Table Talk, the company Pippa used to work for (who also helped with her catering) is going to help cater the evening party.

There was some surprise when there was no soloist at the Cambridge wedding. We will have to see if Harry will follow the root of his dad and other senior weddings that included a soloist. I don't know about it being a psalm though.

Could part of a Gospel from the New Testament be sung as a solo?

I seriously doubt that any media outlet would have any inside scoop on the wedding plans. Of course Doria walking Meghan down the aisle is one of the options. So is Guy as ring bearer an option. :D

I don't trust any of the media to be correct...most of the time it's not.

Highly unlikely sung. As a reading? Highly possible (though some OT are popular like ecclesiastes). James Middleton did a reading from Epistle to the Romans for the Cambridge wedding.

Psalms are far more likely to be chosen for singing. They were designed to be sung.

Agreed :flowers:

But they cover their tracks with 'we understand she wants'. Just like the Daily fail often does. So if it turns out to be utter garbage they can pull the 'well the decision was vetoed by the queen..."

Is this absolutely correct?
Meghan wants her mother to be the one to give her away?

Anything that doesn't come from named sources should be taken with a very large grain of salt. Especially if you consider how privately Harry and Meghan have been able to conduct their relationship until now.

I wouldn't expect to get any real leaks about the wedding to be honest.

US Weekly claiming Doria walking her down the aisle is one of the options.

US Weekly has been off about nearly aspect of this relationship. Before this, I believe they ran another "exclusive" claiming Harry and Meghan would announce their engagement in January. We know how that turned out.

And Doria may very well walk her down the aisle but it's safe to say US Weekly has no real inside information on that.

Oh I know they don't have any real info. I just would love it. I still think it will be the dad.

I can write using the same "tricks" the media uses. For example. "Unnamed sources (I'll reveal my sources too. They're the voices in my head) have informed me that it is most probable that Harry and Meghan will have their first child within three years after the wedding."

There you have it. People actually pay green dollars for this kind of stuff. I think I've missed my calling. :D

How many times from August (the Africa trip) till November was an engagement announcement expected 'momentarily' from 'sources'? Even a broken clock etc etc.

By the way, isn't there a Privy Council meeting next week? I wonder whether anything, like a formal written consent from a certain grandmother, has been added to the agenda?

Agreed. That magazine makes stuff up.

However, I'd like to see her walk down the isle alone. She's a grown woman, and doesn't need anyone to 'give her away'. I think she'd look lovely walking down the isle to her prince by herself. Plus, I don't think she's super-close to her dad.

Meghan on the contrary has herself said she is close to her father. People making assumptions based on that Harry hasn't met him yet.

Its not a matter of the old 'giving away', but escorting her down the aisle.

While I wouldn't be surprised to see some modern touches, I don't see a 'dog ring bearer' or such a modern concept at a senior royal wedding.

Even though I was disappointed that it will be a more low-key wedding at St. George's, I am still hoping for an elegant ceremony.

That sure wouldn't do it!

I wonder when we will start to see the Royal Wedding memorabilia and commemorative items ?

I think we pretty much all know that if there were to be such a thing as a dog ring bearer, HM would insist on it being one of the corgis. She knew that's why the her corgis were playing "suck up" to Meghan when she visited Sandrinham. :whistling:

How soon did Royal Wedding merchandise for Prince William and Catherine go on the market after their engagement had been announced?

I think it depends on if it's official or unofficial, no? The unofficial ones were made available the day of the announcement.

I’m not going to defend this type of behaviour - cleaning up homelessness by simply moving homelessness is not a solution. However, this is not at all uncommon behaviour. It happens every time a major event that draws a lot of national or international attention happens.

Several posts presenting opinion as fact without sources, and responses, have been removed.

I don't know where this info comes from but it smacks of political manoeuvring to me ( and that includes the police as a possible source)

Can we please all be totally honest for a moment - no one wants homeless people on the streets on the day of the wedding - no one.

The fact that something needs to be done to help them is a real and active problem but small towns like Windsor struggle to cope - this isn't a nasty request, its a plea for help.
