The mother of the bride arrives after the bridegroom and best man and after The Prince of Wales en the Duchess of Cornwall (most likely because she is in a time squeeze). No mention of The Duke of Edinburgh. Hopefully that means that he will already be seated when the queen arrives...

And somehow the Order of Service hasn't been changed to include that the prince of Wales is replacing her father! It still includes "The Bride having been greeted by the Dean of Windsor, moves in procession through the Nave where she is joined by her Father, Mr. Thomas Markle, to the High Altar."

No Henrys or Rachels in the order of service. It's Harry and Meghan all through.

This ceremony is going to be very memorable and emotional. I can feel the lump in my throat already just at the thought of "Stand By Me" being performed. Its always been a favorite of mine and definitely a song that, I think, suits Harry and Meghan as a couple. When I first heard there was to be a gospel choir, "This Little Light Of Mine" was the very first tune that I thought of and how fitting when this happy couple is exiting the Chapel as man and wife, they go forward with the dedication to shine a light together wherever they go.

Its personal. Its inspirational. Its touching and adds such an emotional level to the ceremony that is contagious.

I'm also not surprised that Harry will wear a wedding band. Not one bit.

Sooo, hmmm. I read the order of the service. Several things

1---her father is still listed as the one escorting her from the Squire to Harry

2---this also means the PoW is picking up exactly what her father would have been doing. Meghan was always going to walk part of the way through the nave by herself.

3---they are using their common names and not their proper names. No Henry and Rachel. Interesting.

I LOVE that they are doing Schubert's version of Ave Maria!

It looks like it will be a bit like CP and Sofia’s wedding. The recessional music will also be a pop selection so to speak according to People. com

I noticed that too. I prefer it that way - referring to them as Henry and Rachel would sound strange, almost as if I'd tuned in to the wrong wedding!

Shouldn't there be a moment in which the wedding papers are signed? I cannot find it in the program but might be mistaken (either way).

That is on page 19, where it says "The Organ plays as those who are signing the register move from the Quire to the North Quire Aisle."

Interestingly it has 'HRH Prince Henry of Wales' en 'Ms Meghan Markle'.
Thank you for posting this - I see Meghan's Dad is still listed, I guess there wasn't time to change it (plan was he would met her at the High Altar as Charles will.)

Although it says "Meghan Markle" on the cover, the archbishop will use their full names when he initially refers to the couple. In the preface, he will say, "IN the presence of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit,we have come together to witness the marriage of HENRY CHARLES ALBERT DAVID and RACHEL MEGHAN..." However for the vows and after that they are using HARRY AND MEGHAN.

The Coptic Orthodox Archbishop of London will also be part of the clergy.

The ceremony is a modern rite, (rather than the Book of Common Prayer), almost identical to the Canadian Anglican one I chose 33 years ago (yes, I compared them, I still have my program.)

Prince Harry will get a ring too.

Lady Jane Fellows (Diana's sister) will do the reading from the Song of Solomon.

Quite a wide range of music from the traditional (Bach, Elgar, Handel, Ava Maria, Vaughan Williams) to contemporary. God Save the Queen will play at the conclusion after the signing of the register. The 2 contemporary songs will after Bishop Curry's address: Stand By Me will be sung after the address by Bishop Curry and after in the recessional firstly: Symphony no. 1 in B-flat – Allegro William Boyce (1711–1779) followed by: Amen/This little light of mine – Etta James.

There is no mention of Elton John, I assume he'll play at the reception.

I think it's a lovely bland of the traditional and contemporary which I personally like and obviously Prince Harry and Meghan have chosen.

When Máxima requested it at her wedding in the Netherlands, I remember the ultra-Calvinist Dutch posters on the internet complaining ithose were “Catholic elements” introduced by Maxima. I suppose Anglicans don’t mind though.

I must say , however, that the music selection is all over the place mixing different genres.

Richard Kay is reporting it was too late to make the change about her father JuliannaVictoria.

He's reporting it wasn't settled till Ms Ragland had tea with Charles and Camilla on Wednesday - to make sure she was ok with Charles doing it.

That makes sense...it would be much more familiar and comfortable with Anglicans et al. The Calvinists were probably horrified. My dad's people belong to a Church that was hyper-Cavlinist.
