Not terribly surprising that Doria most likely didn’t feel comfortable with this. Reports came out this week that Richard Williams backed out of escorting Serena down the aisle an hour before her wedding. He is MUCH more accustomed to the public eye, and Serena’s wedding wasn’t a global event!

And I also believe in free will, so no point for me in speculating too much about fate. My previous point was, however, that, whatever the cause that triggers a future event, there is a "right" way to make inferences about the future in the sense of minimizing probability of error or getting the most accurate possible estimate . Doing it based on superstition is usually inefficient in that same sense.

I believe this is a couple that after all they've gone through together to just get to this wedding, realize that saying "I Do" is not a sure fire guarantee of a successful marriage but rather a day to day thing where they face everything together whether it be the good, the bad or the really ugly.

Some of the press saying they are hearing rumors of a walkabout after the rehearsal. We shall see.

That's what I mean with a long and happy marriage - they will face the inevitable storms together. Not happy as in no thunderclouds/rainfall ever, that doesn't exist.

How wonderful of Charles to step in! I suspect Doria might have been nervous and who can blame her...the attention and pressure is immense.
And the symbolism! I love that on the journey to her new life, the stalwart of her old life, her mother will be accompanying her. And as she enters the place where she will be come a Duchess, she enters alone as the independent woman she is. Charles will then greet her and welcome her to the family before she joins her future husband. It allows for such beautiful meaning in each stage of Meghan's journey tomorrow morning and I am thrilled and happy for her and Charles, who would have never gotten the chance to do this on such a scale if Meghan hadn't asked.
This also allows Doria to be relaxed and enjoy seeing her daughter be married without the inevitable nasty criticism and the nerves. Perfect decision and reasoning IMO.
P.S. I do understand the people who are concerned her mother is not doing it but I am certain Meghan would have had a discussion with her mum an not just excluded her. Doria, being a private woman unused to this must have been incredibly nervous and so I'm sure she is also very happy her daughter has chosen to do things this way.

Just woke a short time ago........Yep, everybody called it..........Charles it will be, but first she will start alone, won't she? "Bold feminist statement," one site called it.
Just happy the whole "who will" speculation is over and we can get to sending out good vibes to Meghan and Dora and the BRF.
BTW, it was SLOW for me to get in here. Must be tons of folks in here.

Since they can find neither he nor the hospital he's in, just as the Highway Patrol can find no accident report for Samantha, which is required, I think they are keeping their options open.

I think we really have been keeping a vigil. Ever since the engagement announcement in November.

I imagine that after the tea with the Queen is when we will see Meghan and Doria leave Windsor Castle for their hotel for the last night before the wedding.

Somebody on a news site was quoted a calling it a "bold feminist statement" that she will walk partly by herself.
Hmmmmmmmm.
Somebody in here last night told me Charles will say:
"Look son, what I got you for your birthday!."
And I said Harry will say:
"Father, this is the GREATEST birthday present ever!!! Thank you!! Britain forever!!."
Jolly good and all that tommyrot.

That I do hope and I know it will.
I DO wonder EXACTLY what they meant by "soul."
It's supposed to be the "People's Wedding," after all, so I know it will be something spectacular and interesting.

She sounds like an extremely private woman. To go from leading a completely anonymous lifestyle to walking her daughter down the aisle to marry into the BRF before a worldwide audience of millions would be daunting for even the most ardent attention seeker.
I am not at all disappointed if she feels it would be too much for her.
I would have loved the idea of William doing the honors(shades of Prince Philip with his sister-in-law Margaret in 1960) but I am delighted that it will be the PoW.

There was no rehearsal yesterday. Doria met with the Cambridges. This was annouced yesterday. They are currently in rehearsals right now per the reporters with the page boys and bridemaids and Charles. The tea was apparently earlier as a helicopter few into KP and left about 30 minutes later.
