"Ms. Meghan Markle has asked His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to accompany her down the aisle of the Quire of St George's Chapel on her Wedding Day. The Prince of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Ms. Markle to The Royal Family in this way."

"Down the aisle of the Quire" is peculiarly specific. The quire is only the final part of her trip from car to altar. Does that mean she'll be unaccompanied, or otherwise accompanied, between the car and the quire?

I have interpreted it that she will still travel with her mum and they will walk down and meet Prince Charles and he will take her to the altar
So happy to hear this news

OH! I think I've just experienced my first real warm fuzzy pertaining to the wedding. How absolutely sweet and memorable that Meghan's future father-in-law will do the honors. I had a feeling it would end up being Doria but my hopes were on Charles. What a wonderful way of balancing things out.

I am thinking about P.Edward's wedding to Sophie. Sophie and her father stopped right before entering the aisle of the Quire, where Edward and his best men were waiting and the dean "introduced" the ceremony, and after saying "If any man can show any just cause why they may not lawfully be joined together, let them now speak or else hereafter forever hold his peace" the wedding party moved into the Quire separately. So probably that's what will tomorrow. Doria will escort Meghan there and then it'll be Charles turn. A nice touch, IMO.

"I’m told Meghan will walk to the quire with her bridesmaids and page boys and the Dean of Windsor, which was always her intention. And for clarity, Charles will NOT “give her away” - he’s accompanying her down the aisle. "

If this is what Meghan wants, then fine - but it is somewhat ridiculous

This is some interesting news to wake up to. I thought it would have been her mom.

Who cares what a single person thinks. This is Harry's and Meghan's wedding.

Thanks for the update. I guessed it'd be Charles or Charles & Doria. I didn't think it'd be just Doria.

A spectacular way for the Windsors to prove they will indeed be “the family Meghan never had.”

Not a fan of the arrangement. If anyone it should be her mother walking Meghan down the isle.
IMO Meghan should walk alone or with Harry. She's in her late 30s, on her second marriage, out of the house for many years and already living with Harry. She doesn't need anyone to give her away.

I think it should have been her mother but maybe she didn’t want to do it.at least Charles won’t be nervous

It's official, Prince Charles is walking Meghan down the aisle

This is great. This shows the BRF supports Meghan and it signals that the Markles are non entities.

I think it's very nice indeed. Charles and Camilla have been very supportive already, and this is yet another sympathetic gesture.
