Will there be a private dinner before the wedding, like the one held for foreign royals preceding William's and the family occasion on the yacht for Zara?

Anyways. I am glad it seems her entire inner circle have all arrived today. I saw some of her co stars hinting about something today as well. Maybe she will find some private time to see everyone today before the rehearsals tomorrow.

I'm sure they'll be something held for the friends and family that have traveled from abroad.

I think it could be taken one of 2 ways.
1) City Dwellers
2) Reference to areas where various cultures reside.

So much sniffing about how common the attendants will be! Yet it also conveniently ignores that the ones who are grandchildren of a former head of government are not the ones whose parents are British or titled. Pick your brand of snobby, Daily Fail (not that any form of it is a good look for your publication).

I think it has a deeper meaning than that that could be construed as racist. It is a wretchedly written article.

That's how I read it, given the Fail's track record of racial innuendo where anything related to Meghan is concerned.

Am I missing something? Lady Louise (the granddaughter of a Queen) was the “highest” ranked attendant at W&K’s wedding. At this one, a future King and a Princess will both be attendants. Seems like the headline should be switched!

In spite of month and months of reading and hearing all the rubbish coming from Samantha and Tom Jr, I don't think anyone could have envisaged what's been happening the last week or so, how it all seems to have come to head just days before the wedding, confusing and conflicting reports about Tom Jr, Samantha's involvement and possible influence on her father, his state of health, will he or won't he be at the wedding etc etc
It gives me the feeling of just wanting to get to the Wedding Day without any further trouble - lets just get to Saturday and all will be well. I'm afraid until Saturday comes, we have to sit it out, wait and hope Tom Sr is OK in his health and ride the storm until it's over.
Let's also remember that Meghan has conducted herself throughout all this with great dignity, hasn't said anything, done anything, kept her distance from the problem and in my mind all this stuff has nothing whatsoever to do with her. I say let the Markles get on with it and concentrate on what we're actually interest in: the royal family and the monarchy.
|
I completely agree. I have felt the same unease - it was horribly deflating... but I so agree - Meghan herself has done NOTHING but be a class act. Her mother has been a class act. Her friends have been wonderful.
At this point I'd like to just focus on that and ignore the rest.
It's too bad we don't know if anyone from Doria's family has been invited - we could talk about that - though maybe they are holding that close to the vest because they don't want another sh!tstorm to happen? But at this point, I'd love to see some of that side of the family at the wedding so we'd have good members of Meghan's family to talk about aside from Doria. People who have been discreet and restrained (for the most part) throughout all of this.

It seems to me that your comparison does not apply. When W&K got married, the first two people in line to the throne were Charles and William himself, followed then by Harry, who were all adults. Lady Louise, who BTW should be technically a princess under George V's 1917 LPs, was the highest ranked female child in the Royal Family at the time.
If, however, you want to compare weddings, take CP Victoria's wedding to Prince Daniel. The bridal party included Princess Catharina-Amalia (the future Queen of the Netherlands), Princess Ingrid Alexandra (the future Queen of Norway), and Prince Christian (the future King of Denmark). That is the advantage of belonging to a RF that don't isolate themselves from other royals like the Windsors !

Apart from the Litt children they all have connections
The 3rd and 4th in line to the throne (add in William and 2,3 and 4 are all attendants)
The great granddaughter of the Queen's BFF Porchie
The 3 grandchildren of a former Canadian PM and Privy Councillor
The son of the man personally appointed by Charles to stop Harry going even further off the rails
And the granddaughter of Charles' friend - whose cousin was good enough to be bridesmaid at William's wedding and whose other Uncle is godfather to George

I think the poster was talking about the article said W&K's wedding party was blue blood, and this wedding party is made of plebs. Not comparing to other royal houses.

Just saw the pics of Doria being shuttled from Heathrow. The paps apparently didn't get pictures of her personally - they just got her luggage being added to her car and Meghan's personal assistant holding her passport.
Pretty impressive security detail and escort for her.
Very exciting!

I loved the dress that Meghan’s PA was wearing!

It was brilliant. Amy handled everything so Doria could stay out of sight. Her entire transport was A+. I am glad they taking care of her mom, but it was expected. I am sure Meghan is very happy mom is with her.

I hope the rumours that some family members are not invited but the Beckhams are turns out to be untrue. Really poor form if that's the case.

So - we've seen a lot of reports that certain people aren't invited - like Doria's side of the family and some royals ...
How do we know what's true? None of this has been confirmed by KP so how do people know?
