James Corden Will Attend Royal Wedding and Both Receptions

Quote:
At least one late-night TV talk show host will have insider access at the upcoming Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ... and that lucky guy is James Corden.

Sources close tell TMZ ... Corden and his producing partner, Ben Winston, are on the guest list for next Saturday's wedding at St. George's Chapel in England, and BOTH receptions to follow.

This includes the reception immediately after the ceremony at Windsor Castle, and later in the evening at the more exclusive party at Frogmore House ... where Meghan and Harry snapped their engagement pics.

James and Prince Harry have been friends for years, but Corden previously implied he didn't think he'd get an invite to the wedding ... he just wanted to go to Harry' bachelor party anyway.

Looks like he was just bluffing. Corden had recently bought Kate and Prince William a baby gift for little Prince Louis too, so there's no denying it -- he's royalty adjacent.

Just a bit about wearing a beard in the UK armed forces

Quote:
Since that time, the British Army, Royal Air Force, and Royal Marines have allowed moustaches and connected side whiskers only. Exceptions are beards grown for medical reasons, such as temporary skin irritations, or for religious reasons (usually by Sikhs or Muslims), although in the event of conflict in which the use of chemical or biological weapons is likely, they may be required to shave a strip around the seal of a respirator. Infantry pioneer warrant officers, colour sergeants and sergeants also traditionally wear and are permitted to wear beards; although not compulsory, most do wear them. In some Scottish infantry regiments, it is either permitted or expected, by regimental tradition, for the drum major, pipe major, and/or commanding officer's piper to wear a beard. Beards are also permitted to special forces when on covert intelligence operations or behind enemy lines.
More recently, the British Army has been seen sporting a full range of stubble, moustaches and beards in Afghanistan in an effort to blend in with the generally bearded Afghan men, for whom a beard is seen as a sign of virility and authority.[citation needed]
The Royal Navy has always allowed beards, but never moustaches alone, and since at least the early 20th century has permitted its members to wear only a "full set" (i.e. a full beard and moustache). A beard or moustache may not be worn without the other and the beard must be full (i.e. cover the whole jawline) and joined to the moustache. If, after a period without shaving, it becomes clear that the individual cannot grow a proper full set, his commanding officer may order him to shave it off.

Very happy to see Dave and David attending. Dave has some lovely quotes.

Revealed: How Harry and Meghan's Royal wedding guests put charity centre stage

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/201...harity-centre/

He has spent years as their loudest and most famous champion, taking their causes and putting them on the world stage with a cheeky comment and a photo op.

Quote:
But joining them inside St George’s Chapel and at a glamorous lunch reception hosted by the Queen, mingling with the Royal Family and the cast of Suits, will be the conservationists, sportsmen and charity heads closest to the couple’s hearts. Representing the Invictus Games will be Dave Henson and David Wiseman, former team captains who have helped Prince Harry build the competition for wounded and sick veterans, JJ Chalmers, now a broadcaster who has interviewed the Prince, and CEO Dominic Reid.

Quote:
Martin Colclough, head of recovery for Help for Heroes, has been granted the exclusive invitation, along with Colin Dyer of Wellchild and Catherine Ferrier and Johnny Hornby from Sentebale.

If Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, cofounder of Sentabale and brother of the country’s king will be among the high and mighty, the other end of the spectrum is also represented with the head of a tiny, little-known Welsh charity Dolen Cymru, which builds literacy and links with Lesotho.
Quote:
Henson, who is attending the wedding with his wife, said Ms Markle had already become part of the Invictus family, adding she would be “invaluable” to the Prince as someone he could “absolutely trust implicitly and bounce ideas off”.
Quote:

“It’s weird saying that because you’ve got this golden ticket to a royal wedding that’s going to be an entirely surreal experience anyway.

“But at the end of it, you’re watching a friend get married.”
Quote:
“Have you seen his face?” he said of the Prince’s happiness. “I don’t know how anyone can be anything other than delighted for him.

"When you look at him as a person, as an individual, he’s found someone that he loves and enjoys spending time with. I don’t know what more you can want out of life.”

I’m still not convinced he’ll wear his Marines uniform. Harry hasn’t served in either the Navy or Marines.

People cite William wearing his highest rank but imo that had more to due with the Irish state visit. Plus it was what the Queen wanted.

Charles didn’t wear his highest ranking uniform.

Harry seems loyal to the household cavalry. I wager a Blues and Royals uniform.

Ummm yes it is done. Prince Phillip wore a beard while in uniform and I believe Charles has as well.

I'm just realising this, and I stand corrected. I'm so used to U.S. military protocol regarding dress uniform.

Oh yeah...different customs/protocols. Although you do see bearded (and longer haircuts) servicemen when they are stationed in certain locations. Even in some places in Europe some branches at least instruct their members to wear longer hair etc.

That's true for some U.S. service members such as elite teams, etc. However, all U.S. service members must shave for military dress uniform.

But William did at the time, didn't he ? And that was also what the Queen wanted from what I understand.

Except it has already been done by Harry. They made a stink about it last year and he still wore it and his beard. I don't think he is shaving and I don't think it is really an issue.

You wouldn't shave this close to a wedding anyway....he would have that awful two toned look to his face.

William did but there were reasons why she wanted him in an Irish Guards uniform.

Harry has the freedom to do whatever he wants at his wedding. He’s proud to have served with the Blues and Royals, given the choice I can’t see him wearing any other uniform.

They have the honorary title thing over there too. Like Harry's new position with the Marines that he took over for his grandfather.

I agree it is an issue if it violates the Service's current policy for active-duty officers/soldiers. Harry, as a honorary colonel or whatever, must set an example.

The reason the queen wanted him to was because it was a new appointment. He had been made the colonel in chief in the lead up to the wedding. Because of the new appointment, it was seen important he wear the uniform. Charles did not have a new appointment at the time of his wedding. He held both his colonel position and his senior rank in the navy for over six years.

Harry is in the same boat as William. He is newly appointed to his role. It is very likely the queen will think it important he wear the uniform.

Do you believe that any of the press will refer to Meghan's parents as Mr. and Mrs. Markle?

Is it correct that Queen Elizabeth II will be the last Royal to arrive at St. George's Chapel?

I am thinking he may not wear a uniform, which will make me very sad. If he does, I think his own regimental one would make the most sense.
