Yes, if Philip's German relations attended, they would be royalty. But they would get grouped differently. Both by the fact that they are related, and by the fact that they are non-reigning/former houses. Its not the same as having say someone from the Swedish royal house, even someone like CP who is not heir, attending.

Quote:
Harry will probably have few foreign royals at the wedding even if it’s just because of their relationship with the BRF

Edward had Prince Joachim, Queen Anne Marie and Prince Felipe.

William and Catherine’s wedding was obviously very different. They had royals from around the world. Japan, the Middle East, Africa and all of Europe save Liechtenstein

With Harry I expect some Greeks and maybe a couple of others. Maybe some of Philip’s relatives
The difference is Edward has a relationship with foreign royals. He has been attending events on the continent for years. Other then at the odd event like the Olympics, or a state visit, Harry has had little contact with the continental royals. The Sultan of Brunei also attended Edward's.

The Greek royals seem a given. They are very close to the BRF. I'd expect a few of them. Even if just the younger like Theodora.

Prince Seeiso and his wife of course.

Prince Franz Albrecht and his wife-Harry's hunting partner

Maybe a few of Philip's German relatives. A number of them attended William's wedding. A few will likely make the guest list here I think. I don't think we will see any more distantly related, like the Scandinavians.

Perhaps the Yugoslavian royals. They are related and have lived in the UK.

Media interest is on the same level as William and Kate’s wedding but the royal family / palace don’t want to give it the same treatment as Williams coz Harry is not the future monarch .

So the palace wants to downplay it as much as possible but they are already in a bit of a surprise coz they didn’t predict such a level of curiosity and interest . Dunno how they are going to fit in so many people who will be there at Windsor on the big day !

Bottom line is that people like an individual on their merit and are not too concerned about the number on the hierarchy chart ( which in itself is quite old fashioned ) !

Here in Australia I wouldn’t say interest is the same as Will and Kate. While people are happy for Harry I think the future Kings wedding was pretty big.

Not my idea of a royal wedding.
That was just two people getting married.

Yes, one had royal blood, but I wouldn't count that as a royal wedding, any more than I'd count Charles and Camilla's.
Lacks the necessary element of pomp!

My friends and I are going to watch the wedding here in Melbourne. Meghan is on magazine covers here in Australia, and I think the excitement is just going to build over the next three months. I think that will be especially so in the US too as the media seems pretty interested.

I'm looking forward to Meghan's entrance music. Maybe she should seek inspiration from fellow royal brides:

Mary's entrance was certainly majestic and beautiful. I would love if Meghan chose the same song.

I would love if Meghan and Harry chose their own song, something which was suited for Meghan

The song Mary used is a 'coronation anthem' by handle. It was fitting for the bride of a future king. It was along the lines of the song used by Kate, which was also a coronation anthem. Both suitable for the wife of a future king.

But I do hope we get a dramatic, or at least impactful/memorable, entrance. Mary certainly had that down.

I plan on "not being available" to sub the following day as coverage will likely begin around 3am in California!

I’ve explained to friends that they should not bother me around that time. If they do, do so at their own risk.

It will basically be the same way here. Probably will time it so that I'm up at midnight and settled in to watch everything from beginning to end.

I figure that the ceremony and the carriage ride through Windsor should be pretty much done with by 11 am (EST) the 19th. Then I'll sleep. Will make sure we have our favorite frozen pizza on hand too as I ain't cooking.

It should be done well before 11 eastern. The carriage ride will start about 8am eastern. Its about a 25 mile carriage ride, not likely to take 3 hours. There wont be the second trip, like we saw the Cambridges in the convertible after the afternoon reception before the evening.

Plan to be up watching if I am not working an evening shift that night.

I'll be up watching it as well. It will be kicking off at like 6am my time. Oof. I'll be up though cause I'll likely will go out and be just getting home around 4am anyways. Praise coffee. That will be a long day and that nap around noon will be magnificent.

If I wasn’t a fan of Meghan’s from Suits, I probably wouldn’t watch Harry’s wedding either. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got nothing against them and if I come across their news, I’d skim it, but just not going to plan my day around it. But given that I was a huge fan of Suits prior to this and Harry being my favorite royal, I’ll be up bright and early with champagne.

Just because one isn't excited by a royal wedding doesn't mean you are or are not interested in royals. Obviously any poster on here has some interest.

I love talking royals, but there are very few I would get up for a wedding or baptism for. Saw the Cambridge wedding because was getting home from a night shift. Stayed awake long enough to hear titles, and see her dress, then went to bed. Doesn't make me any less a fan, makes me a western Canadian who doesn't get excited enough to be up at 4am.
