It has obviously been an emotional and inspirational visit to Angola for Harry. Remembering his mother, seeing buildings now where she stood, seeing what the Halo Trust has achieved.

As for the future in Angola and hopefully elsewhere, as reported by Omid Scobie

I loved that Meghan did that. She also paid a private visit to the family of the young woman as well. The visit to the site of that horrific murder and Meghan's words on the ribbon also seem to be very much resonating in SA too.

A lovely gesture by HRH.
 
Indeed a lovely gesture - small but significant - and good to read that she made some private visits; which were indeed kept private by not releasing pictures of those visits or having photographers/journalists joining in.

That is what I mean by old school, that nickname has been around for decades'. You hear a lot of old southern Men call each other that. it is not a name that the Young people call each other, or more to the point, English Men. Love it, he nsure is a bubba. cute beyond. words.
 
Back home and finally catching up on this tour.

I have been enjoying the visits so far. Harry really had an emotionally charged visit to Angola walking in his mother's footsteps.

I love that Meghan visited the family of the young woman murdered and tied a ribbon. Something so small but important just the same.

What a group of women! What an honor it must have been to Meghan to break bread with them, I am sure.

I have a feeling we will see a Sussex Foundation project come of these meetings. We know both Harry and Meghan are excellent at building networks, connecting people, and making magic happen as a result. I can feel the wheels turning in Meghan's head all the way over here ?

I also wanted to share a good article from Chris Ship too. He references how much both Harry and Meghan (but especially Harry! Four speeches in one day!) have spoke on this tour; how the access has changed with them speaking to the media multiple times. For those of us old school Harry watchers, him speaking to the media on tours is not unusual, but it seems with Oceania last year, they kept the media as far away as possible. I think some lessons have been learned all around.

But as a new and captivating force within the Royal Family, Harry and Meghan have shown this week their capacity to make things happen.

Would we be running a story on today’s bulletins about gender based violence in South Africa if it were not for Meghan? No.

Would we have run images of the severe drought in Botswana and the reforestation work in the country if Harry hadn’t visited? Probably not.

Would I be leading the news one night on the pressing need for more money to rid the world of the horrors of landmines by 2025, had Harry not retraced his mothers’ footsteps in Angola? The answer is, no.

This week in Africa, Harry and Meghan have shown what they can do by directing the attention of millions of people to things we wouldn’t otherwise see.

That is both an incredible opportunity for the Sussexes, but also a huge burden.

There are also a lot of great articles about the tour in the SA media. Glowing reviews so far even from some corners that had been very skeptical of this tour in SA. Also interesting to hear the commentary from SA, Aus, and US media covering a royal tour for the first time about things.

The tour has been leading the news all over, a few more days left yet but I hope this is a sign of things to come. The media has named other new additions to their team. Fingers crossed that with a full team (finally!!!) we get things smoothed out.

I've not really been around that much to extensively follow this tour so far and have catching up to do but one thing I am impressed by is the sense of connection between Harry and Meghan and the people and places they're visiting and interacting with.

Meghan is quite comfortable doing engagements on her own and actively enjoying it and also taking time to visit privately the scene and family of the woman murdered not too long back ago and left a ribbon with a message.

Harry following in his mother's footsteps literally kind of merges the past with the present and calls to attention that the problem with land mines still do exist and Harry is continuing his mother's work.

There's a good feeling of unity all around and with that feeling, the tour can't be anything other than a huge success. It must be an exhausting tour for both Harry and Meghan (and Archie but he can sleep). This couple has the drive and the energy though and are thoroughly enjoying themselves and the people they're meeting.
 
I’m enormously impressed with Harry and Meghan’s drive, commitment, and passion. They seem to be such a good team.

Meghan doing a tour with a 4.5 month old: incredible. From what we’ve seen of her, it’s not a shock that she would, but it really says a lot about her.

I’d be interested to know- in what ways exactly- does Chris Ship see Harry as doing things differently than HM, Charles and William.

I like Meghan appearing by Skype, shows her commitment to girls education even though logistics for Archie kept her away in person.

It was great that Meghan skyped and was involved. You can see it definitely excited the young women who were involved.

The ACU is the perfect pairing for Meghan. She has a real passion for education for all. But her dedication to women's education, and its ability to improve the lives of an entire community, has been clear from day one. We saw this when they were in Morocco, and now here as well.

Meghan has found a way to balance being with Archie and still being involved in this tour. I am sure she would have loved to be there in person with Harry but the two of them have found a great balance with their son.

The passion for both of them on this tour has been so evident.

So nice to see Meghan joining in with the meeting via Skype! Is she going to be joining Harry along his leg of the tour or is she staying in South Africa with Archie until the tour ends?
 
She's in Joburg now...I guess I thought Harry was going to meet up with here there.

That was the schedule that was given the reporters, Harry would rejoin his family in Johannesburg after his visits to the other countries.
 
Harry is rejoining her on Tuesday. That has always been the plan.
 
Yes and then they have some more joint events before they leave. :flowers:

Meghan has been making a few private engagements while he was gone. We have seen the breakfast and we know she visited the family of a girl murdered. There is said to have been events that were not released, so not to take away the attention from Harry's events.

Has made the best of not being able to take Archie on the other leg of trip.
 
I really hope we will get other opportunities to see Archie !
 
I think the rhino sanctuary might be the only real chance to see Archie again but I’m not counting on it.

We never know our luck. Who would have bet they would take him to visit an ailing and aging 'Arch? But they did and the A-B Tutu was tickled pink. So, we never know our luck.
 
Well, rhinos and a little baby would be a cute combination too. But Archie meeting Arch was the best! It's been a wonderful tour so far and that was certainly a highlight.

Great interview by Prince Harry. I’m blown away by the passion and drive Harry and Meghan have put into this tour.
 
I'm actually surprised that a connection is very visible but not yet commented on with Harry. Perhaps my eyes are that bad that I'm not seeing right on something here or perhaps I'm seeing something not yet realized.

What I'm seeing in Harry is the best from both of his parents. He's continuing Diana's thoughts and passions along with championing his father's passions and work. Harry was raised right, I guess and its showing. :D

BTW: the closed captioning on the video posted is awful... Sheesh.. YouTube is like that for me.
