So Prince Harry attacks the press for writing about his love life, then #MeghanMarkle gives big interview about their love life. Confused.
|
The problem with this is they weren't writing about his personal life. They were tearing his girlfriend to pieces by making inappropriate racial remarks and insinuating that she's a porn star. Then then it became a security issue when photographers that were stalking her mother and trying to break into Meghan's home. Very different from this.
In fact, this was very clear point from Harry early on. Just look at that letter. He acknowledged the natural interest in his personal life, but said a line was crossed in their behavior, and that's what he took issues with. He also made the exact point when he gave Camilla Tominey, the reporter who broke the story about him and Meghan, the only exclusive interview from his Caribbean tour. That was not done unintentionally. But places like DF will never understand the point here.
And also, I'm not sure why he's miffed about British press being excluded. She gave an interview to a reputable publication. Not a tabloid. That rules out most of the daily papers that's been writing extensively about them in UK.

Meghan Markle's alma mater...
...has been named as one of the world's top 20 universities.
Oxford and Cambridge top world university rankings - BBC News
A pretty impressive place to have graduated from with a double major!

If Harry and Meghan get married, and I am virtually 100% sure they will, I feel that Kate and Meghan will do some engagements together to hopefully counteract some of the made up stories that the media will, well, make up.

I just wished it was Harry who made the first public declaration of them 'being happy & being in love'! It's just weird to me that it's coming from Meghan while Harry has never spoken personally about the status of their relationship.
Or am I just being old fashioned?!!

Oh I'm sure they will- and they likely will be seen together in the lead up to the wedding, as Camilla was with Kate.

Yes please! I know it's highly unlikely but my dream tiara for Meghan is the Strathmore Rose but worn in the 1920s bandeau style.
She's fashionable enough to pull off that look and it would be amazing on her.

I don't really have a problem with Meghan being glamorous or appearing in designer clothes in a glossy magazine. After all, she is a celebrity in her own right. What bothers me is that she was talking openly about a relationship, which, until this interview, she and Harry were apparently trying to keep as private and secretive as possible. If both she and Harry had come out together to talk about their love for each other, I would have no objections really, but Meghan doing it alone, even with Harry's implicit approval, sounds terribly "pushy" to me. It would be even worse if they did it without the Palace or Clarence House being notified in advance.

They won't do an interview together until their engagement interview.

I'm sure they will as a group....Harry, William and Kate already doing things together...Harry's wife will be included along side them. Then as we see Harry/William do things on their own together...as will Kate and Harry's wife.

Let's face it...there's not going to be much she can't pull off if they end up marrying. However, if they marry, I suspect she will be like Kate and we will see recycling and very casual clothing when not on duty....but when it's time to dress up, it should be well worth seeing.

That's right.
The couple are telling us that this whole thing should is no longer about, IF, but it's about, WHEN. The next months shall be interesting.
Folks should be happy for Charles and Diana's sons. William has created a beautiful family for himself and has embraced his destiny. Harry is now on his own path to doing the same.

meghan gave an interview and posed for vanity fair.
https://www.vanityfair.com/style/201...le-cover-story
i personally think that was a mistake. if the royal family liked something about kate was her discrete and loyal personality. she never spoke to the press, never gave interviews.
i didn't really see harry and meghan's relationship becoming serious, and i have to say this makes me lean more into that opinion.

Am the only one who thinks the palace had nothing to do with this. I don't think they are engaged . I thought they would be engaged by December but now this interview makes me uncertain. There is no way someone entering the British Royal family would do such an interview. The way Harry protect his privacy makes me believe while he knew about it , he probably didn't know the content. It looks more like she is promoting her brand than anything else. I liked the way they were conducting their romance before , I thought it was handled with class and dignity. This really makes me sad, because this is the only girlfriend of Harry's that I like.Hopefully I am wrong. This interview seem like a way to give her more publicity if the romance does not work out . I hope I am wrong and everyone that says it is a pre engagement interview is right. Because after this there is no way they can ask for privacy anymore.

The noticeable shift Imo has happened. It's not anymore 'if' Meghan hand Harry will get engaged, it's changed to WHEN, and most are betting it'll happen soon.

I see people are going to try to use Meghan's few words about her relationship with Harry as her spilling the beans and not being discreet.
She has not spilled any personal details or dived into their personal lives. Harry gave a major confirmation about their relationship and now Meghan gave her confirmation.
There's nothing wrong about Meghan mentioning their love for each other and quest for privacy. She knows the time is coming for them to present their relationship to the public.
It's coming people, so let's brace ourselves for that big day.
