I remember reading about one actress, I am not sure, who it was (probably it was Megan Fox? I don't remember, sorry), she was planning to not have any nannies for her child, she was very optimistic about it, how she will not need any nannies and all, but after several weeks she just had to hire a nanny, poor thing tried to stick to her earlier decision, thinking hiring a nanny will make her failure as a mother, but she just couldn't make it.
So yes, Meghan could be optimistic (or naive) too, but once a baby is here, she would run to hiring agency, no matter of her plans. (I don't have kids, but I helped my mom and dad to raise my baby sister who is 15 years younger than me - holy hell, I swore I will work extra hard to be able to hire a nanny when my time will come).

I don’t see how that’s realistically possible, not with the schedule royals keep.
I’m sure she will be hands on, but she’s going to need some help.

I want receipts. I’m sure she has said she wants to be a hands on mom, but I don’t recall she has said she won’t have a nanny. Meghan has enough working mothers around her to know the two are not mutually exclusive.

I agree with the sentiment that it'll be impossible for Harry and Meghan to be total hands on parents without a nanny. If anything, they'll be able to model themselves after William and Kate and be hands on parents along with having a trusted "Nanny Maria in" the wings when needed.
William has joked that he'd like to apply for a space mission in order to get a full night's sleep. The Cambridges have, at times, arranged their schedules so that at least one parent is always home with the kids but there's been many times where Nanny Maria was a necessity and we've seen her with the kids. They're definitely hands on parents with a nanny.
As royal children grow up, I do think its a positive thing for them to have a nanny. It helps them, from an early age, to adapt to the idea that mummy and daddy have "work" and they're not always at the kid's beck and call. George and Charlotte seem to have a very loving and stable home life and I'm confident that it will be the same in the Sussex household.

Well I am super late to the party, but I've been keeping tabs on my favorite Duke and Duchess via twitter (we need an app for TRF you guys!).
I'm thrilled for them and just like Harry, I hope it's a girl!
I saw the rampant speculation that Meghan was pregnant after wearing that coat to the wedding and wasn't super surprised when the announcement was made (especially after the folder she held over her midsection coming from the airport in Sydney - that's an old tv trick if ever I saw one)...

Now if people will just cease referencing Diana on everything about this pregnancy, especially wittering on that if they have a girl they WILL name her Diana.
I think they are a lovely couple who truly seem to be deeply in love and it is like fingernails on a chalkboard every time they 'do' anything' such as when Harry looked so strained the other night at the Invictus Games Opening ceremony even his emotions and worry about Meghan were "inherited from Diana!"
No they were not! The tension is that of a loving husband, any loving husband, who is striving to stay cool about becoming a father and mindful that his loved cousin suffered two miscarriages between her first and second child so, wrapping her in rolls of bubble wrap is his preferred option. Hers however, is "It's a condition not a disease".
Truth be told she probably is more tired than she expected and is loving enough to indulge Harry and put her feet up. But my oh my, I don't remember any pregnant woman who absolutely glows like Meghan does and her smile is pure joy.

I SO agree with all of this!!!
They are absolutely adorable and I couldn't be happier for them. You can tell they are genuinely, deeply in love and so very happy about their little one. Harry does seem like a ball of nerves at times but it's so endearing. They are refreshing to watch given the climate of the rest of the world.

That doesn't make it true. I want to see which interview it was said in.

Agree with your thoughts — timing, especially if she was in a very different stage of her life when she said that. It’s not like circumstances can’t make you adjust your plans and thoughts. They’ll need some sort of consistent, reliable childcare.

And let’s not forget in the timeframe where she did interviews, she had several working mothers as close friends. By all accounts, they are all very much involved in their children’s life, but have nannies.

Why is Meghan still going to Fiji and Tonga where that Zika virus is? Now, I don't understand that all?
Why risk anything?

It was announced the day they released the pregnancy news that they consulted doctors about the risk.

I heard that announcement, and?? She should stay in Australia and let Harry go to Fiji and Tonga.
Why a doctor encourage the risk?
