Exactly Muriel. Harry seems like a sociable person. British pubs aren't like American bars where people go just to drink. Pubs are social gathering places. So what if he has a pint while socializing with his friends. It doesn't mean he's always getting drunk.

Actually, American bars are also for social gathering. Especially on game days.

I think Harry is a grown man and if he wants a drink with friends he should do it. But I always think there should be a limit. If his drinking begins to get him in trouble (namely with the press) then thats when its not okay.

I think quite the opposite, if he isn't matured by 25, there something wrong.
I didn't mean to imply that he wasn't mature at all. I think he has matured alot especially the last year or so. I just think he has more growing (refining?) to do as a person.

I honestly don't think, that either have been partying hard like they used to. They both have calmed down.
The press follow them wherever, and they will follow them on nights out. And i definetely think any pictures the press would have taken would have been published.
Indeed. The Royals will always sell papers no matter what. I believe they have calmed down alot as well.

i would love to see harry and chelsea get married some day but i have this feeling their relationship is going to play out similarly to his father's. i think they will end up marrying other and year down the road they will end up together....not sure why i feel this way but i do.

Why do people always think that William and/or Harry's personal lives will end up just like their father's?

I'm new here , but forgive me, American bars are socializing places also . So I'm not sure what you mean by your comment about American bars?
People meet friends in American bars, have birthday parties etc...big time socializing done.

Theres nothing to be forgiven for, everyone has their opinion.
To me all bars are socialising places, it's possible that Opal has experienced a different view of American Bars and does not see them as social gathering places. :)

Because sometimes the apples don't fall far from the tree and the children don't learn the lessons that they should from their elders. Let's hope this isn't the case with TRH's. :flowers:

I wasn't saying they don't socialize. Obviously there's a certain amount of socializing involved. I think it's just perception, perhaps due to how American bars are protrayed in movies. They tend to be portrayed as places where people go mostly just to drink. It may be wrong but that's the perception. Whereas pubs are more for socializing with the locals. You can get a bite to eat, even families go to the local pub. Do they really have birthday parties at bars in America?

Oh yes, but alot of "bars" here are clubs and are fancy. I think most people go to bars to meet people and socialize - not to just drink. My husband is a railroad engineer and when he is at a particular terminal and is staying at the hotel overnight, waiting on a train, the men go to the bar which has a grill and they eat and drink there. I've met him there many times to have dinner with him there too.
It is hard to tell things from movies I guess. I 'm sure I have some perceptions of things on other countries too....it happens.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Many people who have never been to the US tend to pick up alot of the American culture from movies. Perhaps this isn't a true image, but there you have it. :)

Yes, I'm sure that is true. I take it you are not from the USA then?

:previous: Would be nice if Harry and Chelsy attend this event.

Snippet from Daily Mail
Chelsy Davy has been raising money for boyfriend Prince Harry’s charity Sentebale while travelling the world before taking up her position as a trainee solicitor.
The 24-year-old, right, teamed up with her brother Shaun to collect cash for the charity, which saves the lives of children in the African kingdom of Lesotho.
‘Chelsy, Shaun and some of his friends helped raise funds for Sentebale in Durban,’ a source said. ‘Chelsy is deeply moved by the work Harry does in Southern Africa.’
Chelsy is also involved with the charity Children In Crisis and her ambition is to set up an orphanage in South Africa.
‘She visited children’s homes with friends and was told off for taking sweets as it’s not good for the kids,’ the source said.

I thought Chelsy was travelling around for awhile. Has there been anything in the British press about it?

No shanaz, the press hasn't said any more about her travels other than what's already been posted on this forum. Perhaps she hasn't started travelling yet.

I'm curious as to whether Harry will join Chelsy on any of her travels, perhaps on the weekends, or if there will be a long separation time.

Harry may join Chelsy if he should have vacation time from his military flight training, we'll have to see how much that is.

According to reports Harry and Chelsy are due to meet up with each other for their anniversary in April/May in South Africa, and again, in the same place for the World Cup.

:previous: Where did you hear this from?

I've read reports about the World Cup, but not about them meeting up in April/May. Where have you heard this?

It's been so quiet lately I wouldn't be surprised if Chelsy has already started her travels.

I think the press have taken to heed the queens statement. :ermm:

I don't think the Queen's statement pertained to girlfriend's private vacations/holidays/travels. I think Harry and Chelsy just haven't been out in public lately.

If and when she starts her travels I don't think we would hear about it since Chelsy doesn't notify the press about where she is. :whistling:
The only way we'll find out is if she gets spotted by the press. For her sake I hope she doesn't.

Also, if Harry joins her they are more likey to be spotted by the paps.

It would be a challenge to hide that "ginger" hair. j/k
I think if they keep a low profile they would be fine.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if after all the endless speculations and hype about William and Kate getting engaged, out of the clear blue we hear an announcement from the palace that Harry and Chelsy got engaged.

Well you just never know ...

I for one would be (pleasantly) surprised if that happens, but I would be happy for Harry as long as Chelsy is right for him and his position.
