I don't see them going for a way out name like Zara and Peter did. Harry abd Meghan are not private citizens. I don't see a girl named Frankie (definitely not Charlie considering Charlotte).
I do think they may venture further a branch in the tree though. And choose lesser used names. Shame Tom Sr turned out badly, as Thomas is a royal name.
Girl
Alice Francis Doria
Alexandra Diana Doria
Cecilia Elizabeth Doria
Boy
Edmund Philip Alvin
Philip Arnold Charles
David Charles Wayne
Arnold is Tom's father's middle name and Meghan's maternal grandmothers maiden name. Wayne is her dads middle name.
I think like the wedding, the couple will make every effort to balance both sides in both name and godparents. We don't see all royal choices.
Godparents I doubt we will see the Cambridges. Harry wasn't named for his niece and nephews, I see maybe there was an understanding they wouldn't use each other. They already have roles as uncles/auntS.
Possible godfathers
Mark Dyer
Markus Anderson
Charlie Von Strabaheze
Jake Warren
Nicholas Van Cutsem
Viscount Althorpe
Possible godmothers
Jessica Mulroney
Benita Litt
Princess Eugenie
Lindsay Roth
Kitty Spencer
Rose Van Cutsem
I could see
Mark Dyer
Charlie VS
Markus Anderson
Benita Litt
Jessica Mulroney
Eugenie

Girl: Alexandra Doria Diana Rose
Boy: Charles William Richard John (if Meghan's father reconciles with them before the birth, then Charles William Thomas John).

I think they will use traditional English names, perhaps not traditional British Royal names
Emily for a girl and Oliver for a boy.

I doubt that it will be Charles when child's same name grandfather is probably still alive. BRF not tend give same names for members of close each others currently. So surely not Charles and probably not Philip too.

I am thinking girl, at least on that I have a 50/50 chance. I never get the names correct but here is my first go at it.
Girl: Amelia Diana Rose
Caroline Elizabeth Francis
Isabella Alexandra Mary
Boy: Spencer Philip Charles
Philip Dorian Louis
Michael Philip David

Although I agree that their needs to be more boys in the next generation, I think the first baby will be a girl. Harry will be a wonderful father of a daughter. As for names, not sure of that yet, but I agree with the godparents as mentioned above especially Jessica Mulroney and Charles von Straubanzee and Peter Phillips or Zara Tindall.
As for the HRH, with Charles' streamlined version of the Royal family, Harry's children likely will be asked to take on royal duties and therefore I think they will be HRH's.

Isn't that a contradiction. Would it not make sense for them not be as Charles has been reported to only desire for the main successors to perform engagements as members of the Firm, not collaterals like children of the second son.

I think Harry is closer to the York sisters than he is the Phillips siblings. I'd guess Eugenie over Peter or Zara. Zara is already Prince George's godmother. And possibly a Spencer cousin.

I can see one of the older Spencer cousins (not necessarily with the last name Spencer, but in general) being named as one of the godparents.

Celia or George? Harry was seen chatting with both at the van Straubenzee wedding while Harry was on best man duties. George also greeted both quite warmly, along with Earl Spencer's oldest son, at Celia's wedding.

I have to re-adjust my earlier post. I think godparents still stand, however, after hearing the story about Meghan's Cartier bracelet with "MM to MM", I think that if it's a girl, her name will begin with M. She stated that it was an heirloom that she bought for herself after Suits was picked up for a 3rd season that she would like to pass on to her daughter.
Girl:Margaret Elizabeth Loyce
Margaret Elizabeth Francis
HOWEVER, I'm placing a bet that it will be a bouncing baby boy!

I don't think that's an indication of a girl's name though if they have a daughter. It was a gift from Meghan to herself, and that's why it was MM to MM.

Yeah, I understand. However, I think it's time the name Margaret makes it way backing the royal fold, and it would be a nice nod to QEII. It was a little play on names and letters. But I have absolutely no idea. The only girl name I guessed correctly was Charlotte, because that was the name I wanted to give to my first born girl.

I like the idea of using Dorian as male name in honour of Doria.
As much as I like the idea of either one of the Obamas being godparents (because they are friendly with Harry and Meghan, too); I doubt the two will choose any political godparents due to the current situation in the US.

Given Meghan's unconventional background, I expect an unconventional name. More in line with the Phillips and Tindall kids then than with William and Kate's, or Andrew's, or Edward's. And probably with a more "American" slant to it.

I think the names will neither be that out there nor too boring, traditional but with a twist.

I'm voting daughter, and I can definitely see Meghan naming a daughter after a known feminist or the most feminist ancestor of Harry's!
