I think it was expected that she'd start in and work full time. Philip has retired and the queen is older and frailer.. and I think she probably wants Harry and Meghan working....

And she took part in engagements in CHOGM week as well, so KP and BP must have judged that she would be fine. And she was.
I don't think anyone was saying she wasn't, unless I missed that. She did do joint engagements, and definitely hit the ground running, but that was something she seemed to have chosen, not something that was imposed on her. In retrospect, I wonder if she and Harry already knew that they wanted to start their family right away, and she wanted to get a good start before she had to take a break for maternity leave.

From everything I've read about her and see her say in the past...it would of been surprising if she hadn't hit the ground running. She seems like she has always been very involved in work/charity etc. Staying busy.

I don't think Meghan was expected to hit the ground running. She herself was the one to create that expectation. I don't think the firm would have complained had she not done as many engagements but took her time to really get to know her role a little more out of the public eye.
Well, I have to ask. Why was Meghan 'actively promoting herself' from the moment the engagement was announced? In the engagement interview with Harry? When she and Harry undertook all those engagements before they married, in different parts of the U.K.? Keeping in mind that she was going to be a fulltime Royal after her marriage and didn't have the luxury of 'learning her role out of the public eye'? I don't know how you do actually learn a Royal role without performing engagements, considering it is such an integral part of the job.

As for 'actively promoting herself' pre Harry, Meghan was an actress, and that's what actors, singers, musicians, authors etc do.

This thread is not about Meghan's acting career, or what she did during the engagament. This is about her future duties and responsibilities.

If you wish to discuss her engagement count, take it to the British Royal Family Engagements thread.

Further off-topic posts will be deleted.
