So many people are "together" now virtually. So William and Harry would be "together" if Harry goes virtual.

hardly the same. And according to some posters Harry may not want to come because he's not that comfortable in the UK now...

Olive, I'm so sorry for your loss. I had pre-eclampsia and had my daughter 10 weeks early (my mom had it with me and I was early also). Thankfully, she's a strong and healthy teen now. I can't imagine coping with such loss. Yes, Meghan and Harry need to be thankful for their wealth and healthy babies.

Nope not the same. But it has been a different world where it's the only way for families, friends, business people to communicate or team up.

Oh my, Osipi! I had not thought of Tiptoeing through the Tulips in decades! You are right about the fame piece. I agree that they/their minions are trying to stretch that 15 minutes of fame as long as they possibly can!

Let the media say what they will say. H&M are the ones dragging this out when they already have so much to be thankful for and no reason to pick every single battle to fight. Stop threatening more lawsuits, stop whining about what they don't have, be grateful for what they do (their ingratitude for their incredible wealth and privilege and healthy children just astounds), and just go home to their mansion and enjoy their new baby and ignore the rest of the world.

I wish every. single. day that I could go home to mine.

Welcome to The Royal Forums and I'd like to say how sorry I am for your loss. Like you I wish that the Sussexes would choose to appreciate all of the wonderful things that they have in their life.

Part of me absolutely agrees that Meghan and the kids will likely never set foot in the UK again and I have my doubts that Harry will other than in the most dire of circumstances and potentially not even then. Then again, Harry has spent much of the last few years behaving like a petulant and stubborn child having a tantrum and this seems to be only increasing in frequency. We can talk until the cows come home about whether this is simply the "real Harry" showing itself after all these years, whether he's in the throes of a mental health break, or maybe it's both. Either way, part of me believes that while he won't bring his wife and children, he will show up and be present for the statue unveiling if only for the ability to then say "see, you didn't stop me, I win; I'm her son, too and she'd be most proud of me" much like you'd expect from a toddler or a bratty child.

Also, Osipi, I fully agree with your earlier statement that these two are heading for a big fall or a major crash and burn. I've said that exact same thing a time or two in another thread but the trajectory they're on is a dangerous one and if they aren't careful, the dangerously out of control train is going to jump the tracks in a big way.

As for Edward's statements in that interview, I think they were very well done, very diplomatic, very reserved and fair and removed. However, I do think they very much carry a tone that implies that though HM and the PoW might still be fighting this battle, the rest of the family has accepted that Harry, Meghan, and their children are no longer really much a part of the family. I don't expect that to change anytime soon.
I also feel that they are headed for a crash and burn. Right now the only press interest they are getting is their bashing of the Monarchy, and the claims they make are more shocking each time, although I believe they are lies. At some point people get tired of hearing wealthy, privileged people complain, and it will get old. After that, nothing they do will capture quite the interest as their playing the victims because it won't have the same voyeuristic shock value.

And I wonder if they will come crawling back to the UK to be full time working royals? Not sure how they plan on earning a living. I can't see her going back to acting. Direct? Produce? But I don't think she has experience doing either. Other than military training, Harry doesn't have much in the way of education or day job experience other than Invictus. Yes, I heard that there will be an Invictus doc on Netflix, but I don't see that being a big money maker. The only thing they have in their arsenal is the royal connection.

I felt rather sorry for Edward that he wasn't allowed to just talk about his father without having to answer questions about the dreaded duo. It is noticeable though that he did answer when he could have just said something like, "I'd rather not comment on that if you don't mind" and his answer, although diplomatic, certainly did confirm there is a lot of trouble going on between the Sussex's and the rest of the family. I think most other family members must be heartily sick of them by now.

Never Underestimate the Queen

She has been a great and gracious lady -and Queen- for most of a century. He life has been- and still is- filled with constant work, and dramatic events, and a certain amount of grief.

Do we really believe that she is angry and disappointed that a lovely little baby, the daughter of one of her dearest grandsons, has been ‘given’ a name and a nickname that was solely hers? I find it much more likely that she enjoys thinking of another ‘Lilibet’ carrying that name forward.

People of her age usually make an effort to think about pleasant things in their lives, not dwelling on the minor ups and downs that come with a long life well-lived.

There’s much more dismay and anger in the press and social media on her behalf than is actually warranted.

And as for the statue presentation: It would be logical to postpone it until all her children and grandchildren could attend. No woman who is less than a month postpartum would wish to spend 14 hours en route (10 hours flying), for obvious uncomfortable physical reasons. And no newborn should fly on a private plane or otherwise.

I'd hardly call Harry's behaviour a "minor" thing...
and I dont think it was expected that Meghan or the children would come to the statue unveiling.

They do love those titles even though they seem to hate the institution from which they were conferred.

It seems nobody is interested in discussing the baby & posters prefer to discuss other Sussex-related things. It is therefore time to close this thread.

Discussion is and can be continued in the main Sussex thread.

This thread is now closed.
