King Carl XVI Gustaf...the current one.

I have found it to be a 'man thing' to want a son so to speak. Obviously not all men but many I know would love a son someday. They aren't opposed to girls and would love them wholeheartedly but there is something about a boy to them lol!

Agreed. I find it also up to a certain point normal.
Many parents wish for a girl after e.g. 3 boys or for a boy after e.g. 3 girls...but this doesn´t mean, they wouldn´t embrace an other boy or an other girl and would ignore the fact, that they got a healthy child. Everyone knows, that it is a 50:50 chance (well for crazy hollywood ppl this maybe doesn´t go *cough*) and only a small minority of those with "preferences" can´t have a great relationship with the child of the opposite sex...

There have been some very impressive, effective queens throughout history, including Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth I, Queen Elizabeth II, Queen Margrethe, not to mention some remarkable queens from the middle ages.
There have been some very good kings as well. However, some have been real duds.
It seems that women have a higher standard to reach than men before they're considered outstanding.

Try Ekstra Bladet - Nyheder, sport og underholdning (the anti-royal tabloid but they seem to have forgotten that at the moment ) and B.T. nyheder, politik, sport, krimi, kendte og kongelige - BT.dk - another tabloid.
Then there is dr.dk › forside but the tabloids will probably be the most updated.

This article says: "Clever People Help the Princess". It talks about the doctors and midwives that are helping to deliver the baby.
Dygtige folk hjælper prinsessen - dr.dk/Nyheder/Indland
And another article that states, as of 1:30 AM, there is still no word on the delivery. The article says that even though Marie is 14 days early, many babies have been born early without complications or problems.
Intet nyt om kongelig fødsel - dr.dk/Nyheder/Indland

LOL the 2 o'clock radio news started by saying that 'the high pregnant princess Mary was this evening admitted to hospital'. Now, what would be something of a surprise ....

Are all of the doctors on the previous post helping her, or is that just the list of obstetricians / midwives ?
I can't imagine a hospital of that size having only 3 or 4 male obstetricians and a couple of midwives.
I can't remember the exact post number but it is in this thread.

The radio news also had interviews with a reporter of royal news who said that now may very well be Marie's actual due date, since it is a well-tested tactic by the royal family to announce a due date that is usually two weeks later - to try to avoid too much press coverage and pressure just around the actual due date.

It doesn't say. I believe that this is the number that were scheduled to help, but whether all of them are in attendance (and possibly some others) or not wasn't stated.

No the university hospital definitely have more, but this is the team assigned to Marie.
I remember one of the midwifes, the grey-haired one, from Mary's births as well.

That tactic makes sense. But anyone could see from her size that there was no way she could contain that baby much longer.
I hope her mother can get some kind of VIP treatment so she can be in Denmark right away - not have to arrive at an airport 2 hours ahead of flight time, etc.

I think this is her due date. The original announcement also said beginning of May, never the middle/end of May.
