No, I didn't realize that. I figured that the royal house worked with the organizations and then designated the patron. Thank you for sharing this.

How ridiculous that you looked at it that way.

It sometimes happens when a patronage already has a royal patron and the patron, like Henrik, retires, they talk and decide who will take over But this only happens in a few cases, for the majority, the patronages ask the patron

Actually my opinion is not ridiculos.
And I am not the only one thinkíng Marie was begging for a free sculpture to her garden.
But it is fine with me that you have another view on this.

It can be in my eyes. And anyone else on this board feel the same as Benedikte?

I completely agree with you statements. Based upon what I read she was not "begging" for a sculpture. IMO, Marie looked wonderful at that event.

Thank you for the photos. She's been busy this week.

It appears to me that Marie would rather be involved in various patronages than just be idle due to her status. Personally I find it admirable that she shows an interest in working with different charities/groups that would benefit Denmark at home and abroad.

Does anyone know if Princess Marie took over any of Countess Alexandra's former patronages?

I don't think so. The patronage decides who it asks to be a royal patron, and I don't think any of Alexandra's former patronages asked Marie, or perhaps they did and Marie refused.
I will have a look if I can find a list of the former patronages of Alexandra.
Edit: It might take a while to load, but it works... Those are Alexandras honorary memberships and Patronages from January 2007.
