Princess Athena is adorable and all of her family looked great!
Her first name is, for me, an unconventional surprise, but I am sure her parents put thought into it. And the Danish royals often surprise me with the name choices anyway! Her other three names were all very predictable I thought, even if the spelling of Marguerite is, for me, another surprise. All in all, I like her name. But, I admit, it would have been nice (to me) had they included a Danish variant of at least one of her names, especially her first name (was it Muhler who mentioned the variation - 'Athene') and spelt her second name 'Margrethe' (given it is for her paternal grandmother).
I personally found the seating strange. I personally would have liked for the family to either have sat together or walked in and/or out together. But that is just my personal preference on a really superfluous detail. Doing as they did or had they done what I would have liked - neither option would have proven anything about the nature of the family dynamic (sitting together could have simply been for show, after all). So, I personally do not think the decision to have them arrive and sit separately is any cause for concern.

Marie pronounced it A - te - na the "e" being spoken as in "ever" or "end". So it is not Atina but Atena which is also the german way to pronounce the name. I posted the link to the video a few pages ago, there you can hear it pretty clearly. TV 2 Nyhederne - Live it is the video that starts at 17:32
Today german tv station RTL showed the clip also and they also confirmed it was pronounced Atena.

I like the name; to me it's much more regal than Estelle.
I must say little Prince Henrik is utterly adorable with his little suit and tie on. He's going to be a real heartbreaker when he's older.

What a lovely manor it is! The near minimalist approach to decorating is superb and induces a sense of space. The nuetrality of colour is also quite charming. Very light and fresh.
Nice photo's.

Maybe Alexandra decided what her sons would be wearing and Marie what her son was to wear.

The ceremony was very nice and warm
Mary's gown would look better withour the imprints, the silhouette is great.
Marie looked great, minus that brooch
The children are absolutely adorable, especially Isabella and Little Henrik.
And about the new Princess's name: nothing really schoking there, don't forget there was a Princess Diana (Athena's half-sister) not so long ago.

Wonderful pictures! Athena is absolutely adorable.
I really love the one of Joachim, Marie and little Athena, and the one with all the kids.

Did Alexandra and Joahim also have a baby girl? Did I miss something?

I think the poster was alluding to mythical Diana and Athena who were half-sisters (or rather, Artemis and Athena, and Diana and Minerva were).
It stands to reason that if one name - Diana - is suitable, then so should be the other - Athena.

No, I meant Athena the Greek goddess was Diana (or Artemis) half-sister in the ancient Greece mythology.
And Diana referred also to the late Princess of Wales.

I never much liked seeing a tie on Joachim's two eldest boys. They either seemed to swamp their little necks or they just looked silly. Now that Nikolai is older I can see reason for him to wear a tie on occasion, but I still think there's little need for Felix to wear one.
Mary and Frederik have the balance right with children's wear. Unpretentious yet still maintaining a sense of style that is age appropriate. As such, I thought Prince Christian looked rather dashing. Certainly in contrast with his two older cousins.

Completely agree. Im sure Christian will be wearing ties as he gets older. although maybe he will follow the example of the Crown prince of Norway, Haakon, who often does not wear a tie at official events .
On another note, thank you to all who posted information and links. Much appreciated .

Thank you for clarifying girls. Blonde moment.
Now I'm finally watching christening and still can not understand why Felix and Nikolai were separated from Joahim\Marie and their kids. There was a lot of space for two chairs and it's defenitely not a problem to take two cars. Actually Crown Prince's familly were sitting all together a year ago.
No I do not think that there are some troubles between them, I just think it's not very nice IMO.

I'm really surprised by the name Athena. I guess it'll grow on me.

Whatever happened to an official picture of the godparents?
Not bad pictures but nothing exciting.

What could possibly be exciting about christening photos, unless someone dropped the baby?
