Prince Henrik is quite funny, you never know what his reply is going to be but he does manage to crack you up.

I'm so very pleased that it's a girl! It's wonderful news for Joachim, Marie and the boys and also for the royal family! Can't wait to find out the little princesses names!

Here's a link to DR with a 6 minutes video of the couple leaving the hospital with newborn Henrik - VIDEO: Gense Joachim og Marie vise første barn frem - dr.dk/Nyheder/Indland

The Prince Consort is rather brazen with his retorts I've noticed. Much like the Duke of Edinburgh, although Philip genuinely doesn't care what he says half the time. Both men have a tendancy to respond with the odd sarcastic yet humerous comment.

Here you go: VIDEO: Gense Joachim og Marie vise første barn frem - dr.dk/Nyheder/Indland
Back then our Marie's command of Danish wasn't as good as now. However, she was clearly overjoyed and willing to talk.
This time, I expect we will see a lot more talkative Marie leaving the hospital.
There have been a lot of articles in the papers regarding the future of this little new Princess. The general consensus is that she can expect to live an almost normal life except for the odd attendance at some royal events.
The big question in my eyes is to see who among the children will, or rather is willing to, inherit Schackenborg.
At least one commentator points to the fact that we will se a whole circle of royal celebrity youths emerge, starting with Nikolai and Felix in just a few years. - Thus keeping the tabloids and weeklies busy.
Another commentator points to the fact that a lot of children helps to maintain a positive attitude towards the DRF. - Children are good news and usually happy news.
The DRF policy with having the children out in the open, actively taking part in various activities and as in Christian's case being on the job from very early on is also good stuff and even better PR.
Not to mention that children by their very nature are full of "happy event stories". After this birth and christening, comes Isabella's first day in school, then Nikolai's confirmation and so on. Which we are going to follow from the front row.
- Well, we'll see. There are eight children. Statistically speaking at some point some of them will do something unfortunate. That's life and a part of growing up. What will be interesting is to see how the DRF-parents will deal with that and how it will be viewed by the public (the tabloids will naturally have a field day). Hopefully it will mean that many will be able to identify themselves with the royal parents and realise that they also have problems with their children from time to time.
I mean, to view a seemingly perfect nuclear family from a distance is nice, but difficult to identify yourself with.
ADDED: Ups, UserDane kindly posted the same video as me, while I was posting.

It is so lovely to see the pictures of the family visiting. They all look so thrilled with the new arrival but still for me Joachim's smile is the best.
I hope when they leave hospital they have all the boys with them and not just little Henrik. It would seem like they were making a difference between the two families.

Wow, most of the time, I look at the pictures of the royal children, which I love, and dont see the other side, like these pictures of Little Henrik, I can't imagine how scary that must be for a little child to have all those people via for your picture and all those flashes going off. Bravo to all the Royal Parents who teach their children to not be scared and to accept this. I think Henrik is one of the cutest little boy in the royal circle.

It must be nice for Bette Henrik that he is now one of the Big Boys who have a little baby sister... Now he is no longer Little Bros the Baby.

Thanks for the many pics so far
I'll add a gallery from BT with captions: Lille prins Henrik besøgte sin nye lillesøster | www.bt.dk
Bette Henrik replied to the question as to whether he thought his kidsister is sweet: "Yes, and I've gotten cars", (as presents). - You know, kidsister, cars, about the same level.
Joachim said that Marie won't be going home today. In Billed Bladet he's quoted for saying that both Princess are fine.
You are right, Rebefan81, it must be pretty daunting to face all those weird adults when you are only 2½. It would be daunting for many adults.
And as Kataryn pointed out, it must be cool when it dawns on him that he is no longer the youngest.
ADDED: Our Marie's parents have now been at Rigshospitalet: http://www.billedbladet.dk/Kongelige...20Danmark.aspx
One of them said: "We are so happy. It's really lovely with a little girl".
Trine Larsen, who is among the many who have been charmed by bette Henrik, explains that now he has gotten used to the many people from the press, though the flashes from the photographers still makes him put up the odd frown on his face.
Bette Henrik held his mormor Francoise in one hand and a chocolate bisquit in the other. While Joachim carried bags with clothing.

It must be hard for Princess Marie to get so much visitors yesterday. First the older children, than the brother-in-law with his wife, and then the parents-in-law.
As I had gave birth to my first child, I was so tired and wanted only that my husband visiting us at the day my child was born. At the second day, I had allowed the nearest family to visit us.
