All the links to news media came up as I was typing my last post.
Many thanks to everyone for sharing.
Can anyone translate all the little comments between Joachim and the press? His happiness was obvious, but lots of little conversations - would be nice to know what they were saying...

Joachim said that Marie did very well, and that they had 10-11 classes (Lamaze?) beforehand. For the metrically-challenged like myself, the baby was 6.68 pounds when he was born. A perfect size for the baby, considering that Marie is a petite person.

Yes, that would have been Lamaze classes.
Yes, it is a good size baby for her, did Joachim actually say that?

Congratulations to Prince Joachim and Princess Marie! They must be overjoyed to have a healthy baby boy. I can't wait to see photos of the little prince!

Lamaze classes explain the different stages that the mother goes through when delivering a baby. By knowing what is going on, she is able to relax more and help with the pushing when the time is right.
Husbands are encouraged to attend them, thus know how to make the experience a shared one and help their wives. It is enormously bonding for the parents.
I wonder if Prince Joachim cut the cord with this little son, like he did for the others.

I'm so excited to see photos of the little prince. I'm assuming we'll get to see him when the family leaves the hospital.

I believe that's what they did with Nikolai as well as Felix.
So, it will probably be the same with this little one.

A new prince, a wonderful day for Denmark.
Much happiness to the family who welcomes him - Marie, Joachim and his big brothers Nikolai and Felix.
Also his grandparents, Queen Margrethe, Prince Henrik, and his aunt and uncle, Mary and Frederick. His cousins Christian and Isabella will be good playmates for him.
His French relatives will soon see him, grandparents, as well as great-grandmother, plus uncles, aunts, and many cousins. What joy !
Schackenborg will ring with laughter and happiness with this new addition to the royal family.
A very happy day, indeed. Congratulations !

This is going to sound so dumb but I haven't followed a royal birth in like forever I wonder if we'll get pics of his grandparents and aunt and uncle and cousins visiting him at the hospital(hopefully they'll go)

Post #56 now has a video of Prince Joachim's first interview with the press.
Could someone who understands Danish please translate it? There are a lot of questions and answers, one can tell that Joachim is totally elated with the outcome. Those of us who don't speak or understand Danish would really appreciate knowing what some of these initial comments are all about.
