That's the photo I've been looking forward to: https://www.ppe-agency.com/preview.p...2021%20Denmark
Josephine right after finishing her run. To quote her from the last time: "It was hard!!"
It's official.
There will be a Royal Run next year.
The towns have not been selected.
But it's turned out to be something the towns are happy to host, because it's a pretty cheap event that creates a lot of goodwill and a lot of focus on the towns - and the city council members...
The CP family is standing outside cheering the runners.
There was some concern camera wise, because this Royal Run is held much later in the year with the last run finishing as the sun is going down. But the footage has been beautiful. It helps of course that the weather is so good.
----------------
60 % of those taking part were women, 40 % men, normally it's the other way around at such events. But this is more family oriented and very much a communal event not to mention the royal aspect. So it's speculated that this attracts women in particular, and especially women who would otherwise not sign up for a run.
Another factor is that all routes can be walked and that it doesn't end before that last has passed the finishing line.
So if it takes you 2½ hour to finish, you will still be received at the finishing line.
-----------
The distances of one mile, 5 km and 10 km, means that they can be used by athletes. I.e. the times can be official.

M&F's must also be a slightly annoying family to be born into if you're not fond of running

It's a very result-oriented family. I heard them discuss Frederik's time as one of the first things when he finished the last run. Couldn't make out the details though.
Wellll, perhaps with the exception of Josephine, the royal cheerleader.
If you didn't watch the video of her dancing at the starting line, I suggest you do.
Her brother, Vincent, was much more focused.
Frederik said something about Vincent being fond of running, because it's something you can measure/time.
I also noticed that when the children had finished their run and were to pose with their medals, Josephine was goofing, so Bella yanked her in. Heel Josephine, we are posing!
Another thing is that we often see Frederik stepping back allowing Mary to get a lot of focus when they are at an event together. At this event Mary stepped back and allowed Frederik to shine.

I believe when a reporter mentioned how well Vincent had done today, Frederik mentioned how Vincent has recently got a GPS running watch which has further spiked his interest in running.

Thanks everyone for the running commentary and spectacular photographs. Very much appreciated. Josephine’s dancing was hilarious but she has obviously got rythem.

Notice how Isabella rein in her younger sister, when it's time for posing. She wasn't even looking, - routine, I wonder?
Isabella was quite the performer as well, when she was little, but now she's the sensible older sister.
Vincent is easier to control - except that he has a tendency to tell the naked truth.

Nothing is hidden, he simply says the full truth.
Like during their message to the public during the lockdown. Vincent's siblings told about the things they did, in a positive manner. Vincent simply stated that he thought home-schooling was boring.
Which no doubt was true, but not entirely in line with the "cheer-up-message" that the family tried to convey.
And when the children talked about their dad at the gala for Frederik's 50th birthday, it was Vincent who said Mary would get crossed if they didn't conform to the family-rules. - Christian tried to smooth things out - it's not like that, but Vincent was adamant, mother gets crossed.
- And of course Mary gets crossed from time to time, that's pretty much in her job description as a mother.
Vincent just said it out loud.
In the portrait book, Mary says: “If you ask often enough, he sometimes gives in and don’t stick to what we have agreed on. Then it’s always me who for example has to say: Hey, we said no iPads after whatever-clock!
I can come into the living room late in the evening and then they all sit there with their screens in the couch around dad. Very cozy, but what about the principles? In that way Frederik is more relaxed and then I end up being the strict one. That’s a little irritating...

And the security officers must make sure they are pretty fit at all times to keep up with this family.
I was watching the video that starts with the CP getting ready to run and and then a couple of guys joined him who I am assuming were his security guys. And I remember thinking how much one must be really really fit it if you are on the CP’s security detail. [emoji16]
