Thanks, Roskilde.
Poor Mary, beetroot is indeed very common in typical Danish dishes and smorgasboard.
Like here with a typical lunch, pariserbøf = parisian beef: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3-GRfIf6Qs...0/IMG_5147.JPG
Or on the most simple and dare I say common piece of bread you make in about six nano-seconds in the morning because you didn't bother to prepare your lunch the day before, and now you have to catch the bus in about 3½ minute. A rye bread with leverpostej = liver pate and slices of beetroot:

She must have been served beetroot many times and have had to gulp it down.
How common is beetroot with Australian food?

Maybe as a side dish for a BBQ, but i can't see it being a regular feature on menus.

I rarely envy the royals but on this occasion I do: Flensborg Avis Online - Hamburger Spezialbier für dänisches Kronprinzenpaar
M&F were presented with 240 bottles of specially brewed beer.
And of special interest for our Australian friends, the beer is based on Australian hops. Another example of Mary's heritage never being far from the surface.
I think the expressions on M&F's faces says it all. +
Thanks Lumutqueen. In that case there is a whole culinary world for the Australians just waiting to be discovered.
Beetroots is a must with for instance "biksemad". (I believed I have described the ways to make this wholesome and almost... non-fattening... dish a couple of times before). http://frukofoedskoekken.dk/wp-conte...10_FAV_RED.jpg Biksemad = something like: leftover-mix-from-the-fridge-dinner.
Back to beetroots for a moment. Can't say I blame Mary. Who want's to eat a beetroot- bar?? It's rabbit -food, just like salad. Vegetable thingies are great, but only together with proper food, like beef.

Those interested in jewellery will find this interesting.

Most Aussies expect to find beetroot in a salad and more especially on a hamburger. PS that's a yummy looking dish.

Thanks, Roskilde.
It's not only Frederik who can't keep his hands to himself... https://scontent-ams2-1.xx.fbcdn.net...13&oe=55FFDFE1
It is, Tarlita, it is. Very cheap and simple to make and with a guarantee of being full afterwards! So it's ideal for poor students and abandoned husbands who otherwise can't figure out how to cook.

Certainly seems to be a successful visit. F & M look happy and relaxed. I read the Daily Mail article, though, and some of the comments are vile - even My New Royals has nasty comments. Most of them are ''anonymous'' or from people who don't live in Denmark. I'll just take the word of the Danish contributors here.

You cannot ask for more than 100% of yourself and for me that is what they both give .
