I think it highly unlikely that Prince William will ever be labelled "the new Diana", unless of course there is an aspect to William which has so far escaped our attention.
.
That's so funny, Warren I just laughed out loud and almost spilled my tea.
I think maybe what Reina meant was William reminds people very much of Diana. The way he looks (of course), his smile, his gestures all immitate his mother. I believe there was picture presentation from Corbis, where they had both their pics together for comparison.
Its true that William cannot be Diana due to limitations of the sex. But, at the same time, he is Diana, the one link people have to her after her death. Of course, there is Harry as well, but he doesn't look amazingly like his mother.
In my opinion, I think the above is what Reina was trying to say. Reina, feel free to contradict me and shut me up, if you so wish.

Yes pdas1201, I was being a bit cheeky.
But I just couldn't resist. Sorry Reina.
I know we are well off-topic here (Frederik and Mary!) but in a general sense I think we should accept that Diana was unique - certainly the phenomenon of the late 20th century as "Princess Superstar" - and nothing can be gained by looking for, or labelling someone, "the next Diana".
Where's the thread of mary's and fred's escapades in aussie-land after the conclusion of the official tour?
don´t think there is a thread for that. Photos of them with Marys family in Tasmania has been posted in this thread and some others in "Fredrik and Mary news", I think!

[Crown!] Princess Mary and [Crown!] Prince Frederik returned to Government House in Hobart last night after a six-day wilderness holiday with family and friends.
During the trip, the group navigated rugged terrain from the east to west coasts of her native Tasmania in a convoy of cars.
The party included Mary's bridesmaid Amber Petty, her sisters Patricia Bailey and Jane Stephens, their husbands and children, and was escorted by Australian Federal Police agents and two Danish security guards.
They returned to the harbourside hamlet of Strahan yesterday after a two-day cruise along the Gordon River.
The Princess, casually dressed in long, white shorts and a bright green T-shirt, waved happily before driving with the Prince to the local railway station, where the couple and their group boarded a premier-class train for a 1½-hour scenic trip.
A group of Sydney tourists had waited for three hours at the station.
It is believed the Prince and Princess will stay at Government House again tonight before flying back to Sydney tomorrow.

DENMARK'S Crown Princess Mary and Prince Frederik fly home today after more than three weeks in Australia.
Australian-born Princess Mary was yesterday back in her hometown of Hobart after a week-long private holiday.
The royals spent a final night at Government House before leaving Hobart today, Governor William Cox's spokesman said.
The couple will be leaving for Denmark today, the Royal Danish Consulate-General in Sydney confirmed.
Princess Mary returned to Australia late last month for the first time since her 2004 wedding, joining her husband who was already in Sydney to prepare for a sailing event.
A 12-day official tour was followed by a week's private holiday in Tasmania.
The royal couple's holiday plans were top secret, but fans managed to catch glimpses of them at a family wedding in Swansea last Saturday, and boarding a wilderness cruise on the west coast yesterday.
Mary heads back to Denmark

Crown Princess Mary of Denmark has left Australia after a 23-day visit to her former home.
Almost a month away - is that normal to be visiting just one country? It seems a bit excessive that the couple spent that much time away from Denmark, even if the majority of the trip, well, two weeks of it, was spent improving Danish-Australian relations.

Charles and Diana visited Australia and New Zealand from March 20, 1983 to April 29, 1983. That was two countries in six weeks. You do the math and tell me what is excessive.

I believe it is very important to always remember that Mary was also visiting her family - whom she had not seen since last May. I know that my own sons and daughters cannot go so long without visiting each other. It seems to me that a week visiting one's family is not excessive.

I know he spent some length of time in South Korea this year. When he returns to Denmark I'm not sure. I don't have the source for this but I have read on another message board that after South Korea he will be in Sweden teaching.
Can´t compare length of trips of Mary and Diana. Don´t forget Diana was the future Queen of Australia, at that time. Mary was Australian, but in terms of royalty, no connection to Australia.
