Dennis
Thanks for another great job with the pics and newspaper articles.
They're off to Canberra tomorrow, so things will return to normal in Sydney.
The caravan moves on...

I think Princess Mary rarely wears hats on this trip than she wear on visits in Denmark.Because she looks really Royal and elegant in hats.
And some more pics:

Actually CP Mette-Marit wore a jeans and a cardigan set when she landed in Madrid for the royal wedding, and got critique for that. And that is at least a semi official thing. The other CP's wore more formal suits/skirts for that. But I think that for private things Mary would wear more casual things. And I wouldn't be surprised that when she has a day of at home she is wearing sweat pants, a big t-shirt and fluffy slippers :)
IMO the Norwegians as people might be more casual alltogether, than other European countries, and therefore also more casual royals. And if CP Mette-Marit was to open a childrens football tournament and she wore a nice pair of jeans I don't think somebody would mind. But they might do that if she was to open some new institution.

New photo record?
Since 22 February almost 700 photos have been posted on this thread.
Is this a record?
And there are still a few more days to go of this wildly-successful tour.
Frederik and Mary have been a very big hit in Australia.

Thanks for the clairfication KikkiB. I didn't realize Mette-Marit had gotten flack for showing up in Madrid for her jeans and sweater even though the other other royal ladies did wear at least pants and blazers. (Although Princess Theodora of Greece did arrive in jeans I think, though her parents were dressed more formally.) To my feelings however, I think it really was no big deal to show up at the airport in jeans and a cardigan. It was the airport. It would've been something altogether if Felipe and Letizia had hosted say a Vega party like Frederik and Mary did before their wedding and Mette-Marit showed up in this outfit. I wouldn't even count photographers waiting to snap pics of royals arriving for the Asturias wedding as any sort of official event. But that's just me.

Danish royal couple heads to ACT
05:38 AEDT Tue Mar 8 2005
The nation's capital will be given another dose of royalty when Crown Princess Mary of Denmark and her husband Prince Frederik fly into town.
The royal couple has set aside three days to tour Canberra after stunning crowds in Sydney for the past 10 days.
It will be the capital's second brush with royalty within a week, after Prince Charles' fleeting visit last Saturday.
After being greeted by Governor-General Michael Jeffery, the royal couple will visit the Australian National University for the signing of agreements between ANU and the University of Copenhagen.
They will also lay wreathes at the Australian War Memorial and attend a state dinner at Government House hosted by the governor-general.
During the following two days the couple will tour Parliament House, have afternoon tea with Prime Minister John Howard, visit the National Museum of Australia and see the kangaroos living in the grounds of Government House.

I find her ensemble a little on the dowdy side and I absolutely abhor the hat. It just doesn't look good:(

I really like this outfit. The jacket is very elegant and beautiful and the skirt compliments it decently (it looks like the same skirt she wore to church, no?). The hat is very "Margarethesque", but with that smile and her demeanor she makes it her own.
Also a gargantuan thank you to pdas1201 and Dennism for contributing sooo many pictures and articles in this thread:)
