Thank you for the pictures, Larzen.
Is it just me, or are there others, who think of a bathing robe, when they look at Mary´s coat?
But the colour-mix is nice though...her black hair, black shawl, then the pink coat, black gloves, black trousers.

Thanks Larzen and pdas. Great pics. How long is their stay in NY?

CP Mary looks great! I'm loving her pink coat. Anyone know who designed it? The whole outfit looks great, classy yet colourful and trendy.

Ah... they are visiting my hometown!! I am so envious. Mary looks great!

More from the trip to the Big Apple by the former Apple islander and her Crown Prince

This pink tpo coat is very similar to the one Letizia wore in her visit to the USA:

It is very similar except Mary's has a deeper color. How long will Mary and Frederik be in New York?

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary visit New York to Launch Hans Christian Andersen Bicentenary Events for 2005
At a press launch in New York Public Library on Tuesday, February 1st, their Royal Highnesses will help draw attention to the many events scheduled in the U.S. in connection with the worldwide celebrations of Han Christian Andersen's bicentenary. Secretary General of the Hans Christian Andersen 2005 Foundation, Mr. Lars Seeberg, will also be present at the press launch to introduce some of the highlights of the celebration. Actress Susse Wold and the Copenhagen Royal Choir will also perform at the press launch. Futhermore, the Royal Couple is scheduled to visit a school in Harlem, where they will preside over the storytelling contest.

I think Mary looks beautiful! The coat is wonderful and looks so elegant combined with those leather gloves and boots.

I am not enthralled with Mary's pink coat. Its too American for me.

But I love her pointy black shoes!:)

I think the troussers is not black but deep/dark grey colour. She is pretty but those colour-mix is not my favourite. She looks radiant with her lovely red jacket.

I love everything about her appearance except the scarf around the neck. It just doesn't give a professional look, unlike her suit, shoes and hairstyle, they scream, "WOW"

Unlike the men, with ties and a closed shirt to protect their necks from an ultra coolness in a space that can't be warmed sufficiently on a very cold day, you want the fairy Princess Mary to catch cold?

There are other ways to ward off cold, wear an overcoat on top, with fur or other thick stuff in the lining. Also, they are inside the museum, I don't think it would be cold in there.

I hated the shoes on Mette-Marit and I dont like them on Mary either, atleast you cant see so much of them because she is wearing pants. Her hairdo is nice

Oh no!! Not with fur. Then someone starts a discussion about that. It not easy to be a princess, when it comes to choosing clothes.

Alright, lets not talk about fur...

Here are more pics to talk about...

Excellent observation of the shoes, Larzen. On closer inspection, even I don't like them very much. But, as you said, atleast not much can be seen of them, and whatever I saw of them in the first pics, I liked.

Thanks to pdas, Larzen and Dennis for posting the lovely pics :)

Both Mary and Frederik looks so happy and at ease doing their duties.

I really love Mary's style yesterday - the hair, the red and white overcoat, the red jacket, everything...

But I must say, I'm not to keen of the scarf from today - and Frederik's style yesterday were a bit "busy". Maybe his wife should consider buying him one or two new overcoats to use when he is out "on duty".

I am with you on that one, Chatleen. Frederik, seriously needs to rethink his style of overcoats and let his stylish wife do the shopping for him.

I live four blocks from MOMA and had no idea they were in NYC. What event are they in NYC for? Thanks in advance.
