Between the Danish architect, Leonora Sisseck to Spanish wine-producer, Carlos del Rio.

The wedding took place in: Valbuena de Duero.

Leonora Sisseck is daughter of wine-producer, Peter Sisseck, who owns a wine-yard in Spain. His wife, Britte Sisseck, is a designer, who have designed dresses for Mary.

I can make out from the Spanish article that M&F went there most incognito.
There are some additional details about the newlyweds and their parents.

But perhaps our Spanish speaking friends can enlighten us about any details of interest?
Nothing has actually been published. There are no photos and I have hardly found anything else except a review in "Semana".
I suppose that few people in Spain would recognize the heir couple from Denmark anyway and that's a shame.
In "Hello" I found a review, without photos too

https://www.hola.com/actualidad/2021...ary-dinamarca/

Somewhere I read that Alexandra and her children Nikolai and Felix will come to Spain on vacation. Can you tell me something else?

Not much actually: https://www.theroyalforums.com/forum...ml#post2414608

It's good M&F can visit Spain undisturbed.

Since the Spanish royals are still at work, I doubt M&F dropped by for a cup of coffee, even though the couples know each other well.

I think that between Madrid and Valladolid there are about 200 km, so unless they planned to stay a few days in Spain, it would be impossible for both royal couples to see each other.

That would coincide with "Hellerup-week" as the locals call week #29.

Traditional that's when the jet-set living north of Copenhagen migrate in droves to Skagen to mingle and be seen with the same people they mingle with the rest of the year.
The atmosphere is quite hectic with a lot of partying and cruising in expensive cars.
- The locals look on with considerable amusement - while turning up the prices...

In a sense M&F can vanish in the crowds because they look and sound like thousands of other Copenhageners in town at the same time.
On the other hand it's, as we see, almost impossible to be unnoticed by photographers and reporters from the gossip magazines, because of all the celebs and attention seekers who are also in town.

I know close friends of M&F have a large summer cottage in Skagen.
Otherwise they can stay with friends at Birkelse Manor, located about half and hour, three-quarters an hour away from Skagen.
Or they could stay at Trend Hunting Lodge, an additional half an hour away.
But this weekend QMII moved in there, so I guess M&F have already moved on to Gråsten, or will during this week.

@Muhler Now Don’t pretend you’re not sipping champers in a Rolls right now complaining about the help

I think the impression some Royal family’s want to sell as approachable and of the people needs a grain of salt sometimes and that’s just fine. Everyone has a right to be happy as long as it’s legal and moral.

I wish.

I guess M&F, like so many families, have their holiday traditions.
I.e. it's not a real summer holiday unless they have been in Skagen and at Gråsten, riding.

The town of Skagen, located at the northern most tip of DK is a beautiful place - especially without the tourists...
Almost completely surrounded by water, the light is fantastic! It's no wonder our most renowned painters gathered at Skagen and did some of their best painting there.
Being an old fishing-town you can't get fish more fresh. And in Danish context the portions served are mega-sized.
The west and north coast of Jutland is one continuous 350 km long sand-beach, perfect for bathing families.
At the very tip of Jutland, you can stand with one foot in the Baltic Sea and the other in the North Sea, and when the conditions are right you can see the waves from the two seas clash.
Amber-hunting is a favorite. But the locals of course know where and not least when to go hunting.

But let's look at some photos.

The very tip of Denmark:

The two seas clashing:

A town house:

A typical street:

Sunset over Skagen town. That will be around 21-22 in the evening at this time of year:

Various views:

The dunes along the beaches are protected and if you are lucky you can as a family be surprisingly sheltered:
https://tr-images.condecdn.net/image...-zeegers_b.jpg

There are lots of tourists at the harbor!
https://standby.dk/wp-content/upload...to-scaled.jpeg

For those interested in history there are still a lot of German bunkers around. They are virtually indestructible! The fish and birds like them though, so they are left where they are and in a few hundred years the sea will have eaten them.

Hellerup-week, as you can tell from the car:
https://jyllands-posten.dk/pictures/...p-uge-i-skagen

Fish served fresh:

Washed down with some of the many, many variations of local schnapps:
https://scontent-hou1-1.cdninstagram...cc&oe=61047B34

With a bit of luck, you can find amber (a major export of ours in antiquity BTW):
https://www.toppenafdanmark.dk/sites...-efter-rav.jpg
Sometimes with insects embedded in it:
https://premium.vgc.no/v2/images/7bb...=1600&fb3ea6e2
But chances are you won't, but you can buy jewellery from amber:

The light is special, which is why so many painters went there in the late 1800s:

The locals were scenic:

ADDED:
A photo of the CP-family in Skagen. Don't know what year:
https://cdn.nord.bazo.dk/images/4a0f...1a3145b/s/2048

This house is owned by the Skeel family, and this is where M&F and the Skeel family live, when in Skagen. Seen from the rear it's a simple and modest summer cottage. I think the CP family likes it a bit small from time to time.

Mang Tak for the many wonderful photos Muhler. The town looks so neat and tidy and picturesque. No wonder Fred and Mary like going there. The photo of the fish dinner made me feel hungry. Ha! For the locals watching two angry seas collide when weather conditions are right must be awesome.

Thankyou so much for the beautiful photo's. You are very lucky to live in such a lovely country. I was fortunate to visit for a week back in 2011. I was amazed at your beaches which are very similar to parts of Australia. It is no wonder Princess Mary feels so at home in Denmark.

My pleasure.

Yes, I imagine the beaches in DK and Tasmania may resemble each other? - That is sand and lots of dunes.
I hadn't thought that the scenery may remind Mary of Australia. I'm glad you pointed that out.
- I'm sure she must miss visiting Australia and family and friends there. It's been a long time now, and she may hardly be able to visit Australia this year either.
Two of M&F's children have all of a sudden grown up and become teens, since her relatives last saw them in person!

I can assure you, Tarlita, that there is not one single house in the entire town that is neglected.
Any house showing signs of the owners being unable or can't afford to maintain it will immediately be besieged by potential buyers willing to pay a very favorable price. - And then totally renovate the house.

With a holiday goes pastry and bread.

Pastry and bread is not just bread and cakes. It depends on the time of day.
Frederik will get up as the first one in the morning, (certainly before his teen-children!) put on some sandals and dog in leash stroll down to the nearest baker. There are several in Skagen.
Here he will buy assorted "rundstykker" = round buns. With real butter (that isn't fattening until next week...) and various cheese.
https://berlingske.bmcdn.dk/media/ca...undstykker.jpg
Cut in halves and served either with only butter (my preference)
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pr...tYYrswZntppdOQ
Or with cheese, ham or peanut-butter/nutella:
https://mills.ams3.digitaloceanspace...0-1600x775.jpg
Frederik, like any other romantically inclined husband (it's part of the deal) will occasionally serve breakfast in bed for his wife.
Romantic, eh? - Until your children and dog decides they also want breakfast in bed. Your bed. And they all place themselves between you and your wife.

Oh well. After breakfast our CP-family is likely to go to the beach for a quick dive in the sea - after having waited for Isabella. Because like all teen-girls she has to look right for the beach...

On the way back to lunch in their house, they pass a baker and Frederik decides they need something for lunch. And what is better then freshly made white bread and a handful of snails?
Being health-conscious, they opt for bread with lots of seeds. Good for the digestion:
https://sg-cms.imgix.net/jcr:40a476b...to=format&q=60
With a fat layer of butter:
https://madenimitliv.dk/wp-content/u...DSC_0011-1.jpg
For toppings, it's nothing special just a simple typical, traditional lunch
https://files.deal.dk/images/34088/2...f32c930af1.jpg
Mary and Frederik will once more look in amazement at their teenage son wolfing down anything in sight. Where does it go?!?
The snails were really to be eaten at breakfast, but a healthy breakfast is important - so the snails can wait for lunch...
There are countless variations of them:
https://migogaalborg.dk/wp-content/u...nelsnegl-1.jpg
https://cdn-free-legacy.tv2i.dk/2020...&w=1880&h=1058
But M&F decides to go traditional and pick the cinnamon-snails with white and chocolate glasing:
https://tarasmulticulturaltable.com/...lls-5-of-5.jpg

After lunch the family strolls dog in leash through Skagen, occasionally yanking Isabella away from her phone and the shops with amber.
Before heading home. On the way the pass a Konditor = a pastry-shop. Where Frederik decides they need a light, fresh layered cake to go with the afternoon-coffee.
Nothing special, just a simple refreshment in the summer heat.
https://karenvolf.dk/wp-content/uplo...le-lagkage.jpg
Frederik picks one of these - for himself:
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...agkager_02.jpg
Mary is concerned about her figure and opts for this:
https://bisca.dk/karenvolf/wp-conten...d-jordbaer.jpg
The twins want chocolate and cocoa:
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pr...Exa9iK5wjMgcLQ

In the late afternoon, it's time for dinner. But it's hot and they've had a little to eat during the day, so the family decides to go light and healthy and what is better than rye-bread?
Frederik strolls dog in leash to another baker to get some assorted freshly baked rye-bread.
Good for the digestion and full of seeds.
There are countless variations of them:
https://sg-cms.imgix.net/jcr:a4399e1...to=format&q=60
https://berlingske.bmcdn.dk/media/ca...835-rugbrd.jpg
It so happens that the house comes equipped with a traditional rye-bread slicer:
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jo6iliOWe1...0/DSC06429.JPG
Enabling you to slice the bread in teenage-sized slices:
https://www.opskrifter.dk/images/rec...NbHt4saxN.jpeg
(Traditionally such thick slices are referred to as "the horse's birthday" slices.)
Now with any kind of dark bread you need appropriate toppings. Nothing as fancy as the smorgasboards you get at restaurants, but something easy and simple.
https://osterportslagter.dk/wp-conte...er-14-kr-1.jpg
https://ketoliv.dk/wp-content/upload...5-1200x675.jpg
https://sg-cms.imgix.net/jcr:2574589...to=format&q=60
Fish and shrimps is of course a must, Skagen being a fishing town. - It's a must no matter what.
https://slagtergronvall.dk/wp-conten...fiskefilet.jpg

After dinner the family strolls dog in leash down to the fishing boats at the harbor. It's so scenic to see the fishing boats and take in the small of the sea, fish, tar and not least hear the engines and the cries of the persistent gulls. Good for the digestion and fresh air is always healthy.
On the way back, Frederik feels a little peckish and suggest they get a "kringle" (something like "a twister") for the evening coffee. Fortunately there is another pastry store right there.
There are zillions of variations of them and they are - almost - non-fattening.
The scent of freshly made kringle and fresh coffee proves irresistible for everyone, and while the sun begin to set over Skagen, the CP-family sits on the patio enjoying a kringle or two.
https://i.ytimg.com/vi/68e3V1_AXa0/maxresdefault.jpg
They are used a symbols by bakers and pastry-shops:
https://rykindribe.dk/wp-content/upl...5225415288.jpg
But they are not necessarily twisted, some are straight, in which case they are also called a stick:
https://v9b5k7t4.stackpathcdn.com/wp...te-kringle.png
Others are round, in which case they are usually called a cake:
https://krem.no/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/IMG_2262.jpg
https://www.tine.no/_/recipeimage/w_...lssgpbxjbg.jpg
And this is how they look inside:
https://www.farmorsopskrifter.dk/wp-...956-scaled.jpg
https://i.pinimg.com/originals/67/45...ef8055ddfc.png

This is archetypical Danish Pastry. What we call Wienerbrød = Viennese Bread. Strictly speaking this is not a kringle, but a specific kind of flat pastry in the form of a stick:
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pr...WQEe-cL5J9aNFw

By the time they are finished with their evening coffee the sun goes down and the clock shows: 21.40. (Today the 29th July in Skagen.)
But it will be past 23 before the sky is getting dark.

Mary is walking beside Malou Skeel from Birkelse Manor, located not far from Trend.

IIRC (I haven't got my notes nearby) Mary was so to speak smuggled into DK around Christmas/New Year. - Changed car on a road somewhere and drove to Birkelse Manor/Estate, pretty much in order to be presented to a number of Frederik's most trusted friends.
Later on she lived for a period at Gavnø Manor nearer Copenhagen, before de facto moving in at Frederik's apartment at Amalienborg. (I'd say while the paperwork regarding her residency, address, social security, bank account and work was set up and cleared. A pro forma actually, because AFAIK Mary never worked and she rarely lived in her apartment.)
The whole thing is described in first-hand details in the Frederik book.

.
She spent New Year 2001-2002 at Birkelse and after that, she lived and worked in Paris and spent weekends in Denmark. I don't think she ever "lived" at Gavnø.
After moving to Denmark summer 2002, she started work at Microsoft in Copenhagen.
I don't understand the "Mary never worked"?

Oh yes, she did stay at Gavnø for a period.

As for her work at Microsoft in Copenhagen. It was some sort on consultant job I believe. I.e. no fixed hours.
If I'm to be honest I doubt she put in that many hours at Microsoft. The period where she lived in DK up to the engagement was IMO, so that M&F could get to know each other on a day to day basis and see if they could live together for an extended period.
And just as importantly for Mary to get to know Denmark, the climate, the people, the scenery, the culture and learning to live in a palace with protocol, security and servants. It's quite a transition actually!

We can all dream about suddenly living in a palace, but it's also a quite overwhelming culture shock to actually live there for real!
What's the proper way to address the servants and staff?
How do I get used to having them around? And when do I use them? And for what?
How do I get things done discreetly? - You don't just pop down to the chemist for sanitary products, for example.
You can't just walk butt naked from the bathroom, because you forgot your bathrobe, lest you bump into someone.
You can't shuffle down the stairs in an messy kimono, slippers and morning hair, because you forgot something in the car last night. You may walk into Frederik's adjutant.
There may always be someone within earshot, even though they are discreet and have signed a pledge of confidentiality. You can't just call to Frederik down the corridor: I could lick your back, you yummy you! or Frederik, I could wring your neck!
What fork do I use in this here culture and family?
What's the procedure if I want to invite a couple of girlfriends over for coffee?
What do I do if I suddenly bump into the Queen or another member of the DRF? (That sort of happened. I.e. an unprepared meeting with QMII.)
Getting used to a PET officer suddenly knocking on the door saying an alarm has gone off but everything is under control...
Outside the palace you are never 100 % private. There is always the chance that someone will recognize you and you may be photographed any moment.
So no picking your nose/ear in your car, while waiting for red light.

All the multitude of little things you have to learn and get used to. - Something another woman who married into another royal family, perhaps never had time to get to learn and adjust to, before it got real.

The man behind Frederik is Peter Heering.(*) The Heerings belongs to the inner most circle of friends of M&F.
The town of Tisvilde is located next to the summer-cottage area of Tisvildeleje.

It's a place M&F have stayed often before on their summer holidays.

Located at the north coast of Zealand, the summer cottages there are often owned by people of means.
As a thumb-rule: Everything north of Copenhagen = affluent. The nearer to the north-east coast the more affluent.

I presume they are staying at the Heering summer cottage at Tisvildeleje, but they really don't have to. Tisvildeleje is located so close to Fredensborg that M&F can be home at Fredensborg Palace in less than 15 minutes.

(*) An army colonel of the reserves he's a veteran from Afghanistan.

Eh, not necessarily. The affluent are just the loudest, most visible ones but there are heaps of average mortals in the Tisvilde-area as well – especially outside of the holiday weeks. Tisvildeleje is the coastal area of the town of Tisvilde.

I wonder how recent those pictures are. We know Frederik was in Tisvilde two-ish weeks ago but going off of Her & Nu, the Crown Prince family have just been in Skagen.
