A Danish popular TV host Lisbeth Østergaard who is pregnant posted today this on her Instagram:
https://instagram.com/p/z4N908PZbx/?modal=true
"BABY SPAM! I have apparently a knitting happy family. Yesterday the post brought me this Mary shawl, sent from the family from North Jutland. We are so ready (for the baby to arrive)"
The so-called Mary shawl as it's called is very popular in Denmark. And is almost an obligatory gift to expectant parents. If I remember correctly Mary has inherited the beautiful knitted shawl from her mother Henrietta and the pattern are from the 1800s.
And for refresh a very sweet story: (Someone who remember more details than me?)
Mary and Frederik have carried all four children in the shawl as you know. When it back in 2010 was publicly made that Mary was expecting twins an elderly Danish lady started to knit a shawl similar to the original Mary shawl so one twin shouldn't missing one. She sent it to F&M a few months before the birth and when Mary and Frederik showed the world the twins at the hospital one of the twins (think it was Josephine) was wrapped in the older lady's shawl. The elder lady was understandably very touched and proud.
And again to Vincent and Josephine's christening.

Thanks for posting, love how Christian being the older brother looks after his exuberant and delightful younger sister with such aplomb for one so young. Lovely family.

Thanks Roskilde. It is a beautiful shawl and how cute that it is called Mary shawl in Denmark. Maybe in the future we will see all of Frederik and Mary's grandchildren leave hospital wrapped in the shawl or at least any future children that Christian's may have, I hope so anyway.

It's pretty weird! No matter what search criteria I put in at Google, I inevitable end up with at least a couple of hits of M&F!
This time the keywords were something as far away from the DRF as: Skagen + gader, image size: large and yet there were quite a number of pics of Mary in particular. More weird since I actually don't use Google that often to serach for DRF stuff.
Anyway, here are three pics I don't recall having been posted here before:
http://a.bimg.dk/node-images/877/4/2...-til-bt-nf.jpg - Don't know when, don't know where...
http://b.bimg.dk/node-images/858/6/x2048-u/6858980-.jpg - Pre-marriage methinks.
http://multimedia.pol.dk/archive/005...___568901a.jpg - And during a visit to Skagen.

The first photo is taken in the driveway of her father's home in Tasmania I think they were there for the sister's wedding.

We know when Isabella turned five back in 2012 Margrethe gave her the tradition-bound gold bracelet which also her sisters and her mother Queen Ingrid gave their daughters as their 5th birthday. Since Margrethe didn't gave birth to daughters she instead saved the tradition and continued it with Isabella when she turned five. Josephine will be the next to recieve her gold bracelet when she turns five year next year.
But it looks Mary may have been the first to recieve a gold bracelet from Margrethe as a beloved daugther-in-law. It looks very much like one of those bracelets, doesn't it?

I have to agree with Bertie, the first photo looks like Hobart in January 2004 when they attended sister Patricia's wedding. Only in this photo they are dressed casually for a walk perhaps. The second photo is when they attended Jeppe Handwerk's and Birgitte's wedding 22 august 2002. I have a lot more of those photos from Jeppe's wedding except I cannot post a link for them.
