Crown Princess Mary as Patron of the Global Fashion Agenda will attend the Roundtable Session on the occasion of the launch of the CEO Agenda 2019 for the fashion industry during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, today.
The Palace already released the following statement:
Quote:
CEO Agenda 2019 is the fashion industry's contribution in Davos to contribute to the global sustainable agenda. As one of the most resource-intensive industries, it is crucial that the fashion industry changes the way clothing is produced, marketed and used.
I am proud to be the patron of an organization that encourages collaboration across industry and insists that the only future for the fashion industry is a sustainable one.

The lady in the back is Eva Kruse. CEO for Global Fashion Agenda.
- I understand the fashion industry is among the more serious polluters today. Not to mention the conditions for workers in the factories delivering items to the fashion industry are known to be less than desirable.
I imagine that is very much on the agenda at this meeting.

Do let us hope that environmental and social justice concerns about the fashion industry are on the crown princess' agenda: there has also been much criticism about the optics of hundreds of private jets arriving at local airports ferrying WEF attendees.

Yes, I believe I read a headline about that. Was it 120 or so private jets flying people in for this meeting? - Where the environment is very much on topic.
However, I should be very surprised if Mary got a ride on an air force plane. More likely she flew commercial.

The numbers I have seen are 1,200 - 1,500 private jets to ferry the great and the good to Davos!

But I fear you are correct.

The Danish fashion industry (which is a very important part of the overall export) has reflected on what was discussed at the World Economics Forum in Switzerland, which Mary attended.
https://www.bt.dk/underholdning/der-...hen-over-moden
It all boils down to the fact that the fashion industry pollute - a lot!
And that the consumers are changing. Beforehand they just wanted to look good, and if the prices were low, so much the better. But a change has set in, no the consumers are beginning to look at the ecological costs of manufacture. And the fashion industry believe that change will become predominant as early as this year.
Copenhagen Fashion Week is coming up, and it's clear from this article that they are not ready for the the consumer's changed view and that is cause for concern.
It is expected that with the growth in the population rate, combined with more and more people worldwide getting more money at disposal (the world wide middle class is growing rapidly - and let us all be thankful for that! A happy middle class = peace) the sale of clothes is expected to increase by 63 % in the near future.
So we are talking very serious money here!

How nice! I remember they both traveled to South Korea in 2012.
Looking forward to the event tomorrow for Mary

Sounds like a fascinating event to be patron of and it'll be interesting to see Mary at the event in Aarhus tomorrow.
Now that Korean pop culture is becoming more popular in the West with bands such as BTS topping Western charts, I wonder if Mary's children listen to Korean pop music.

Trøjborg Lokalcenter as it is also called, is also an activity center for senior citizens. Some of whom live in their own homes, some live in senior-homes and a few come from nursing homes.
Here they can meet and take part in various activities.
One of these activities is being visited by children. In this case nursery home children.
Other places it's kindergarten children or younger school children.
It has been established years ago that elderly interacting with children overall feel better. They have something to look forward to, it nurtures their caring gene they are stimulated - and feel genuinely refreshingly tired afterwards.
The children also benefit from it, because elderly often have a different approach to children and there being plenty of elderly present, usually means there is one for all the children.
So all in all it's beneficial for all.
