I like it as well. Is this something recent that is being done? Marie did the same with her trip to Cambodia I believe. I like it. It gives a personal perspective to the trip and the events they are attending.

Mary's video vlog/diary of Day 2 in Bangladesh. I love how this is being done. It gives Mary's first hand perspective as she narrates the video.

Very cute! With Mary's love of all animals, someone better make sure she does not try to hide that little goat in her carry-on and bring it home!! LOL :whistling:

Allow me to suggest to the newsdiggers that you keep an eye on the royal articles in BT that are collected here.
There are a number of interesting articles I really would like to write about but I'm pressed for time these days.

Yes, the journalist is praising Mary to high heaven, for being very professional and for being on the top, despite the high temperature and very humid air that sapped everybody else in the Danish delegation. And also for Mary ignoring that the security surrounding her was very high, so high that she hardly had the opportunity to meet the people she was actually there to meet and see.
She is praised for being the most professional member of the DRF, in the sense that always, regardless of circumstances was engaged, dedicated and interested. - He use QMII as an example and says that if something doesn't interest QMII she just moves on.
The journalist can't tell whether Mary is always this genuinely committed and interested or whether she on occasion is very good at faking it. But she is thoroughly professional.

Interesting. So basically saying Mary is the star of the DRF in so many words. From all I could see the trip got very positive press and optics. Mary is amazing when on these trips.

Summary of article in Billed Bladet #17, 2022.
Written by our man in Cambodia, the omnipresent Ulrik Ulriksen.

- This article only covers the first five minutes of Mary's visit, so we will have to wait for the coming week for the rest of the tale.

There was a lot of secrecy regarding this visit. In fact that Mary was going to Bangladesh was only announced after the plane had taken off from Copenhagen. (*)

Right after touching down in Bangladesh, Mary posted her first account in Instagram talking about why she was going:
"I have just started my second trip to Bangladesh. I last visited the country in 2017, where my primary focus back then was women's rights. On this trip focus is on the consequences of climate changes on the population, nature and biodiversity, because Bangladesh is one of the vulnerable countries for climate change in the world and it is expected that prior to 2050 there will be up to 20 million displaced people.
We have to, more than before, have focus on the diversity of nature and promote projects that served the purpose of protecting nature."

Then Mary was received by the PM, Sheikh Hasina. Where she was present at the signing of an agreement between Bangladesh and Denmark in regards to co-operation based on green and sustainable development.
Followed by a meeting at the Danish embassy with representatives of danish companies who are going to work on such projects, both in regards to production, orders, know how an so on.
DK has had development projects going in Bangladesh for 50 years.
And again Mary gave a report on Instagram:
"It's solutions I'm proud to show support for here in Bangladesh. And it's been interesting to hear about the experiences of Danish businesses in this country at our focus-meeting here at the Danish embassy." (**)

On the second day, Mary visited the Cox Bazar District in southern Bangladesh, where there some 700.000 Rohingya refugees living in more than 30 camps. They have fled the regime in Myanmar.
This is the largest refugee complex in the world.
Mary is a patron for Danish Refugee Council, which is heavily involved in the refugee camps there.
In high humidity and a temperature of 35 degrees C Mary met a number of the people in the camps, especially children. (***)

Mary returned to DK after a 15 hours flight on Thursday.

(*) And as you may recall from other accounts Mary was heavily guarded during this visit. I don't know about the security situation in Bangladesh, but there must be something serious going on.

(**) In other words: Mary took an active part in that meeting. It wasn't merely a presentation.

(***) Each time a foreign VIP, or in this case a direct representative of Denmark, visit a Rohingya refugee camp it's also a message of displeasure to the regime in Myanmar.
The government ministers who accompany her will certainly voice their displeasure and that's the main purpose of the visit to put it cynically.

You can see the scans here: https://app.box.com/s/k9he6h0fpobn1gzoufyvfvdg6wjuctl3

ADDED:
The scans also cover the marriage-story of Gustav and Carina Axelsson, including a few trivia about her and the story about how they first met.
I don't know how well known that is here though?

It also covers pretty faithfully what I have already written in the G & AC thread about the legal hassle surrounding the inheritance.

Her Royal Highness the Crown Princess visited the Crown Princess Mary Center earlier today, where a number of researchers presented their projects.

Her Royal Highness also heard about the center's work to build an interdisciplinary knowledge environment, which focuses on finding new solutions to current societal challenges with people at the center.

The town of Billund in central Jutland has been branding itself as the Capital of the Children. - It is no coincidence that Legoland is located in Billund and that Billund is the HQ for the LEGO concern.

M&F personally know the very, very discreet LEGO-family. Wonder if she dropped by for a cup of coffee?

:previous: She really glows. :flowers:

Mary also had another event,
"Her Royal Highness the Crown Princess met today with the CEO of UN Women Sima Bahous, who gave a status orientation on the fulfillment of the UN's world goal number five, which is about gender equality.

Gender equality is being challenged by climate change, pandemics, hunger and food shortages, and UN Women is working to integrate gender equality broadly into development cooperation agendas.

Also present at the reception were director of the UN Women Nordic Office Caroline Rusten, planning and coordination specialist at the UN Women Executive Office Sarah Brun, office manager at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Marianne Kress and the Crown Princess' private secretary, court lady Henriette Ellermann-Kingombe."

She looks fabulous! Glad we got to find out about this other very important and relevant event today with UN Women! Is there a tutorial about the methodology of which events get put on the calendar and which (apparently important) events/meetings get don't? I have to admit, I am confused.

Something to look forward to.

A friendly, laid back atmosphere and being among friends. - While still being serious. Norway, being a neighboring country is an important export market for DK.

Looking forward to this visit. Also looking forward to the CPCs visit to the Netherlands in June. Hoping for more to come!! If only we could get an incoming state visit!

Mary gearing up for her events in Norway tomorrow. Today doing some hiking.

It was a great wish that came true today, when I was previously on a mountain hike a little outside Stavanger to experience the Pulpit Rock and the magnificent nature around the famous plateau. The view was supposed to be absolutely fantastic - but the weather was not with us today

The cities in Norway and Denmark are attractive places to live and be in. The capitals of both countries are close to beautiful natural areas. I love nature and at the same time having the city close by. Living in a city where nature is a matter of course and easily accessible is therefore a gift. Once again, I have been reassured in how nature touches us as human beings and how important it is that we take good care of it.

Therefore, I look forward to tomorrow opening the Danish-Norwegian business conference "The green, sustainable and climate-safe cities of the future" in Oslo. For only through cooperation across countries, disciplines and industries can we ensure that our beautiful planet can continue to give future generations the opportunity to experience what I did today.

… And then I look forward to coming back to the Pulpit sometime when the prospect is to enjoy

:previous: You in particular would love Norway, Polyesco.

Lots of rain. Cool climate and stunningly beautiful scenery.

I'll look forward to tomorrow.

The younger royal generation always seem to cooperate with the media and the press by stopping and "posing" for the photographers, obliging when being asked to look in this and that direction etc. I guess the british Queen would never do that, would she?

Not sure whether this belongs here or in a Norwegian thread:
https://www.billedbladet.dk/kongeli...n-elegant-mary-i-udsoegt-kjole-til-festmiddag

Mary is taking part in a dinner at the Norwegian National Museum, together with Queen Sonja and Haakon and Mette Marit.

- All four of them looking good!

ADDED: Mary also had lunch with King Harald and Queen Sonja, as protocol dictates. She's after all on the job, representing DK and QMII, so she is obliged to drop by to say hi.
Not that she would find this lunch the least bit strenuous I'm certain.

Doubt it. Plus, they take the time to answer a question or two even with the knowledge they may be asked a tough question. They are always prepared.

They all look wonderful! It is always nice to see MM looking well and healthy. Haakon brought out the velvet dinner jacket it seems! HM Queen Sonja looks great! And Mary looks fantastic!
