Today, Mary as patron speaks at the launch of the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) State of World Population report on the world's youth. Rysensteen Gymnasium, Copenhagen.

That hairstyle looks really good, methinks. Suits her well.

Kronprinsessen og Kristian Jensen på Lolland: Sætter fokus på verdens 10-årige piger
"The visit to the Southern School Rodby takes place in connection with the launch of the annual "State of the World Population Report" from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), which this year focuses on the 10-year-old girls.
The report says among other things, forced marriages, child labor and girl circumcision threatens girls' health and rights. When a girl is 10 years old and is approaching puberty, she will in some parts of the world find that the options open to her with youth, education and jobs. Elsewhere she will be considered a possession that can be bought, sold, or bartered away."

That can only be described as an enthusiastic welcome!
The focus here was on girls aged ten.
In DK right now there are about 33.000 girls aged ten, worldwide the number is about 125 million. - Who as Mary pointed out, all have (or ought to have) the right to a good life. And this is the essence of this campaign.
It has to start somewhere and at an age where the children can be directly involved, hence at age ten.
The UN report on Earth's population is published today and this year there is a special focus on ten year old girls.
- Who in too many places around the world, can look forward to being married within a very years, having little further education and can look forward to a life where they are at best second-rate citizens.

Despite kicking the ball the right way (you can tell she has children!) she missed.
But at least her team - with some adult-weight added to the equation, won the tug-of-war.

Had I done that I hadn't even could hit the ball

This afternoon HRH The Crown Princess received Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director (ED) of UNFPA Dr. Natalia Kanem, who is currently visiting Denmark. At the meeting, the director of the United Nations Population Fund, which the Crown Princess is the patron of, briefed about the organization's ongoing work and priorities and the challenges the organization faces in its global work. Her Royal Highness and Dr. Natalia Kanem also discussed possible joint activities.
