Thanks Muhler :)

You are going to like this outfit: (Ups, noticed that Iceflower - naturally :flowers: - has already posted that article, but the gallery is new).

Mary also went to Horsens Art Museum, while she was in the general area. Where there was an event for the Heart Association.

A nice 12 pic gallery: Galleri - Mary p kunstmuseet - Horsens Folkeblad

I don't pretend to know anything about fashion, but I know what I like. And I like this!

ADDED: For Danish members: Isn't it Henning Fyremose? Is he involved with the Heart Association? Perhaps as an attonement. Talk about a man who has caused heart attacks!

Im always amazed why Mary doesn't take the kids to some of the events that they might enjoy. Thank you for the pictures, Mary is quite sporty which is nice IMO, makes some events fun.

Wonder if she feels her children would take the attention away from the others in attendance and she wants the focus to be on them?

As patron of the Heart Foundation Mary is right now on a three arrangements visits around in Copenhagen. First item on her program was at Randersgade School, where she along with a 7th class highlighted the importance of being able to perform first aid.

And B.T. is ready with an article and a video: "Mary on a first aid course - surrounded by children"
Mary til førstehjælps-kursus: Omringet af børn - Royale | www.bt.dk

Long before Mary arrived the pupils were ready to receive today's guest .
And as soon as Mary entered the schoolyard she was surrounded by jeering children who would shake her hand and take som picture with their future queen.

Mary shook hands and caressed the children on their cheeks as she slowly moved up to the gym hall. Here Mary saw how the students have practiced first aid.

And it was a very impressed Mary, who afterwards took the time to responds B.T.'s question: Will she learn her own four children first aid?

- I definitely will. It's something I've learned as a child and at a subsequent training course. And I think it's a very important tool to have.

i have just minutes ago seen the tv news with a clip where i could hear mary talking with the children and she knows what she talks about!! she definitely can first aid herself.

:previous:

I really like children. I do! But so many together in one place ready to "ambush" you with hugs, handshakes and cameraes I would prefer to run away  Mary is doing well. I guess it's good I'm not a Crown Princess!

I can hear in the video some of the boys shouting: "Mary, Mary, we are crazy about you"

Summary of article in Billed Bladet #48, 2013.
Written by our man on the street Ulrik Ulriksen.

As patron of the Heart Association Mary got a heart warming welcome (*) when she arrived at Randersgade School in Copenhagen. Here she was met in the school yard by more than enthusiastic pupils! She was greeted, photographed and hugged - we are not talking about a simple embrace, we are talking hugged with a capital H!
You may be forgiven for thinking it was the girls who were most eager, no, the boys were out in force as well!
One boy explaimed: "She's just so sweet", others behind him nodding in agreement.
That was on they way in, Mary had to run the gauntlet of wild schoolchildren on the way out as well! Here a couple of boys, with hood-shirts and caps, shouted: "Mary, we love you". - It must have been somewhat overwhelming for Mary.

Well, the purpose for being there in the first place was so that seventh graders could demonstrate to Mary what they had learned in regards to CPR and first aide and afterwards Mary praides the thirteen year olds: "It's fantastically good what you can do and it's important. It's a good message that you can actually make a difference with first aide. And it's cool that you can make a difference".

After that experience it was off to an excersize centre for heart patients and here Mary had the opportunity to play a slave driver. She flipped a big dice and depending on the number the poor souls had to perform a given excerzice, like doing push-ups.
On of the elderly gentlemen exclaiming after Mary flipped a fiver on him: "Phew, a fiver. That's bad. Then I'll have to lie down" - and doing push-ups.

The it was off to the Betty Nansen Theatre, where she was to present grants and this is where it became emotional for Mary.
Just prior to Mary entering the rostrum an actor had read aloud from a book called "Dear Albert", a father's detailed and emotional account about his baby-son who two days after being born had to go trhough his first heart surgery.
Mary wiped away a tear and said: "It's the second time I hear the chapter from the book Dear Albert, and again it struck me right in the heart. One can't help thinking that we can't help Albert, but we can all help saving the lives of people suffering from heart failure, by learning how to give livesaving first aide and by dare doing it".

(*) What can I say? It just came to me. :p - Sorry, couldn't resist.

For those who wish to know more about what Albert's father wrote down, here is a poignant letter to his son: Journalist Thomas Aue Sobol » Kære Albert
In Danish.
Albert made it, not without difficulty though, but he is pretty severely handicapped.

She looks great and happy.

I saw some pics from this event in another blog and she looks a little bit older because her lines are showing all over her face. I have nothing against lines but something about that shot emphasizes it a lot. Maybe it's because of her makeup. It wasn't a flattering shot.

Thanks Roskilde.

This is very close to Mary and how lovely Director Kim Hogh's words. It is always great to hear from people that have direct contact . We can see that Mary certainly has a calm personality and also that she is confident and very interested and committed to her patronages and all that she is involved with.

Summary of article in Billed Bladet #49, 2014.
Written by the Ulrik Ulriksen.

Recently Mary attended the Heart Association's debate meeting and grant presentation at (the most posh of the posh hotels in Copenhagen) Hotel d'Angleterre. Here she was recieved by six year old flowergirl, Linea, who herself has heart issues.
Mary presented grants to three researchers and gave a speech: "To day we mark that the Heart Association and the Children's Heart Association have handed out 30 million DKK for research within the heart-vascular area over the years. At the same time we have a lot aóf reason to be glad that there over the past decades have been a markedly drop in the number of persons who die from heart-vascular desease. The result of the research also have a personal significance for thousands of homes allover Denmark, where families have been spared a great pain and have kept a loved member of the family. That is a good sign for the future effort for our hearts".

A lot of local celebs had also shown up, most of them apparantly women.

- Don't know how it is in your countries, but here in DK women are more likely to die from heart-vascular deseases than men. Because research, treatment and attention is very much focused on men and based on men, including check-ups and other kinds of preventive measures.
Usually it's the other way around in regards to medical conditions, but in this case men are more likely to survive.
But it's true, there has been a tremendous improvement here in DK over the past twenty years. People are much more aware of their hearts, treatment has improved by orders of magnitudes, if you open a random cupboard chances are that a couple of heart-starters (or whatever you call them) fall out!
There is still room for improvement though. IMO first aide and CPR should be mandatory for all adults but that's unfortunately not the case.
Just a generation people ago dropped dead all over the place from heartfailure and other heart-related deseases. The treatment was to put it mildly primitive as well!
In 1960 or so my grandfather had a heart attack and was committed to hospital. Okay, he was still alive so he was discharged the same day. Then he walked home from the hospital, because back then people didn't just take a taxi and an ambulance that was for emergencies. When he finally got home he was soaked in sweat and probably closer to death than when he arrived at the hospital.

Today, Crown Princess Mary has make a visit to Aarhus University Hospital with (and as patron of) the Danish Heart Association:

Mary met health professionals for heart disease and the pediatric clinic... but the most important was that Mary met lot's of the "heart children" and watched an operation of a 14-year-old boy who should have closed a gap in the heart.

Lovely pictures of Mary and two of the "Heart children"

A sweet article from Aarhus Stifttidende:
Kronprinsesse Mary besøgte børnene på hjerteafdelingen - Aarhus | stiften.dk

Crown Princess Mary shone like the sun when she this morning arrived at Aarhus University Hospital in Skejby.

At the Paediatric Department and in the outpatient treatment had both children and parents looking forward to meeting the Crown Princess.

"We have talked a lot about it and Maya has really been looking forward to the meeting," said Mikkel Randlev Moller, father of 7-year-old Maja who is a outpatient cardiac patient.

There is no doubt what the highlight was the seven-year-old heart patient.

"Maja has a teddy bear - it's called 'Teddy to the rescue' and she wanted that Mary gave the bear a hug. Mary was immediately keen on the idea and Teddy got a huge hug. It meant a lot to Maja," said Mikkel Randlev Moller. Crown Princess Mary and Maia talked about both being a heart patient to go to school and to have hobbies. Although the royal visit did Maja a little shy she was glad for the experience. "It was lovely to meet Mary and she was really sweet," Maya said.

(7 years old Maya is the girl who we see holding Mary's hand i the pictures above)

"It was a huge experience for my son to greet HRH Crown Princess Mary today at the children's ward.
Lovely that she took the time to all the children - to listen, to talk and to fool around with them"
