Mary fik gaver til børnene - Mary got presents for the children.
Written by Anna Johannesen.
Mary arrived at Copenhagen University and were presented flowers by seven year old Ellen Storr-Hansen. (*)
Here Mary was observed quenching her thirst from a water bottle in the hot hall, while Minister of Education, Morten Østergaard (good grief) gave a speech and no less than ten nominees for the Communications Talent of the Year were presented.
However it was professor Albert Gjedde, head of the Institute for Neuro-Science and Farmocology and Copenhagen University who ran with the big prize: The Research Communication Prize of the Year, presented by Mary. With that prize followed a cheque for 100.000 DKK = a little less than 20.000 $.
Then it was outside to Frue Plads = the Square of our Lady (**), which for the day had been made into a square for research.
Mary visited the Malaria-tent, to learn about the developement of a vaccine against brain-malaria. Then a tent with nano technology, before she visited a pen with sheep, where she caressed a lamb: "Oh, how sweet you are".
Before going home Mary was presented with two decks of playing cards for Christian and Bella.
- No wonder Mary put her hand in the pocket. It may have been hot inside, but it wasn't outside!
(*) Flowergirls should always be mentioned IMO. It's after all a special day for them - and they are children.
(**) FasterB, isn't that were Vor Frue Church, which burned was located?
