Press release from 13 January:

HRH Crown Princess Mary agrees to be patroness for Copenhagen International Fashion Fair – the great twice yearly fashion meet at Bella Center that provides insight into all the latest trends.

Bella Center and The Federation of Danish Textiles & Clothing are looking forward to the first Copenhagen International Fashion Fair of 2005 with particular anticipation. Her Royal Highness Crown Prince Mary recently agreed to be patroness for the fair – an impressive tribute to the stature of this event.

Naturally, we are deeply honoured to have HRH Crown Princess Mary as our patroness. We know that she takes a great interest in the fashion industry and that she is admired both nationally and internationally for her style and sure sense of fashion," says Jens Bollerup-Jensen, President of The Federation of Danish Textiles & Clothing. Expectations with regard to the upcoming Copenhagen International Fashion Fair at Bella Center are unusually high. When the curtain rises on the event - the 24th in line - it is in the knowledge that CIFF last year rose to the top of the European fashion super league:

Copenhagen International Fashion Fair has become the biggest event of its type in Europe. The number of exhibitors is growing steadily, and is now approaching 900. More than 30 other countries are also represented in addition to Danish fashion suppliers," says Arne Bang Mikkelsen, Chief Executive of Bella Center.

Copenhagen International Fashion Fair will be held from Thursday 10 to Sunday 13 February at Bella Center.

A few more of Crown Princess Mary at the Copenhagen International Fashion Fair in Bella Center today. Pictures from Polfoto:

Crown Princess Mary's Lady-in-Waiting, Countess Victoria Bernstorff-Gyldensteen, looks great! :) And they seem to have a nice time together too, which should be essential for their working relationship. I guess Mary finds great support in the Countess.

One more pic, this is from BT:

Mary nor the Countess appear too impressed with the pink boots (last picture) and I can't say that I blame them.
Thanks for all the great pics GrandDuchess.

Yes, who can blame them? I don´t like that ruffled look for boots. I mean they just look wrinkled. Great photos indeed, GrandDuchess.

Yes, wonderful photos GrandDuchess! Thank you for sharing them.

The Crown Princess looks absolutely stunning in this photo. The Countess also looks very elegant as well.

Thank you very much, Grand Duchess, for the pics. You posted all the pics I wanted to post, nonetheless I have a few. Enjoy:)

Crown Princess Mary at the Copenhagen International Fashion Fair again today, this time she saw a streetwear runway show in Øksnehallen in Copenhagen. I must say that I'm really liking Mary's Lady-in-Waiting, Countess Bernstorff-Gyldensteen, she looks wonderful again today! Today they seemed to match their outfits. :)

Great photos, GrandDuchess! Mary does, again, look marvelous although I am not too sure I like the suede jacket over her green dress (or is it two-pieces?)... Is it the same jacket she wore during her engagement week? But, the green is a smashing color and looks wonderful on Mary.

Hmm, I like both her dress and her jacket, but together it looks.. odd! Nice colour tough... and I lover her haircut! She looks better when her hair is a little shorter.

More pictures from today's fashion show for street wear at Øksnehallen in Copenhagen.

I would like to the first pic without the watermark - wonder what the ladies are discussing ;)

I have to say I am so impressed with the number of engagements she is taking on (so many of them alone) and the way she has really embraced her new role. If you ask me she is as Royal as they come now - Blue blood or not! I think she is next in line to Mathilde and Maxima as far as work goes. They just have a head start on her!
Very impressed!

In terms of number of duties (and people can correct me on this), it seems to be Letizia, Mathilde or Mary, then Maxima. Maybe I'm just not aware of the correct number of engagements Maxima undertakes, but it doesn't seem like

Well Letizia has yet to do one on her own as far as I know. Maxima takes on quite a lot...but more importantly what she takes on seems to be very high profile - Microcredit and such.

You get a closer look at the skirt and shoes. I have to say, I don't like the shape of the skirt, shorter and tighter would have been nicer. But, the color is magnificent. Also, the shoes I love.

Letizia had a solo engagement in November 2004, she inaugurated the Congress of IberoAmerican History Academics. Felipe was attending the funeral of Sheikh Zayed in UAE, therefore, she went by herself.

The Princess is working incredibly hard which is wonderful for us royal watchers. I liked theh green suede jacket and the deep red skirt. I'd like to have a closer look at the black heels, they seem to be an interesting shape at the toe.

Keep up the good work Princess!

More pictures from Øksnehallen yesterday.

I hope we get to see pictures from the Malene Birger show held at Unicef in Copenhagen last night. I just saw a small clip on the telly, and Princess Alexandra and Crown Princess Mary attended the show together.

These pictures as well as the ones I posted in the previous post is with courtesy to TV2.dk

Thanks for the picture Chatleen. This green suede jacket is the same one Mary wore at one of her pre-wedding festivities on the trip to City Hall in Copenhagen isn't it? She wore a matching suede skirt then, but I like it with the light green dress paired here.

I absolutely agree, in man ways they when facing difficult times would be able to draw upon that love and use it to help them to perservere too.:)

Roshanah, you're right about there needing to be a balance between work and family. Yes, there are royal responsibilities, but there's a huge responsiblity to your children. And really, if you raise them with love it seems that would make them do their job as a royal better, perhaps.

Right you are. That's my point indeed, maybe we'll see a better method with CPF and CPM. Neither of them have problems wiht asserting themselves and gave themselves time and alot of consideration before they even considered the idea of Children. Which is a good thing.:)

Also they made sure that they dealt with outstanding emotional issues, therefore ensureing that their marriage grows and that their Child can be showered with love, good knowledge and effection.:)

Not that I'm criticising anyone (and not that you said that I did,) I'm just saying that it's better to do it that way, rather than go with the 'fashion of having Children' either because that is what is expected or the just because everyone else is doing it.

Thumbs up for CPF and CPM!:)

I skimmed Penny Junor's book over the weekend. She says that, you have to remember the Queen was just 22 when Charles was born, the Princess Elizabeth was intimidated by Charles' nanny (who was replaced by the time of the two younger children). Maybe that lack of asserting herself and the added responsibilities of being queen did the damage (although it didn't damage Anne!).

Mary is older and herself not raised by a nanny, so I think you'll see a different childrearing style.

Another fashion fair for Crown Princess Mary. They are a big chunk of time in her agenda. I wish she would have more working sessions, doing meaningful things for her compatriots, using her name and notoriety to promote more human causes more worthful causes than Danish fashion.
