It was an inspiring and intense conversation about how corona and the restrictions that have come with it have had a huge impact on young people's lives. I was particularly touched by the young people's consideration and compassion for some of the groups who are having the most difficulty and who feel most lonely at this time. And I was very uplifted by their many ideas for what we can do - both to fight loneliness and create well-being among young people in the time to come.

Each year, H.R.H. Crown Princess Mary's Foundation awards a special donation to a project or organization that helps people who are in a vulnerable position.
This year, the Crown Princess has chosen that the special annual donation will go to the Danish People's Aid's Christmas aid for single parents.
With the donation of 300,000 Dkk, Danish People's Aid can help 230 single parents and their children better through Christmas. A record number of single parents have applied for Christmas aid from the Danish People's Aid this year, many of whom say that the corona crisis has worsened their financial situation.

Christmas greetings from the Crown Princess Mary
The Crown Princess looks back on the year that has passed in the Mary Foundation:
"It has been a very special and challenging year. For many people, the restrictions have led to a great social deprivation. But 2020 has also confirmed us in how much we need each other. And there has been a lot to be thankful for - which gives hope: The will to be something for each other and the courage to stand up and ask for help is something I have had the pleasure to experience many times in the past year. I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and say a big thank you to those who have shown consideration, compassion and empathy - and also to those who have stood through the past in spite of great deprivation.
Merry Christmas H.K.H. The Crown Princess."

A stunning photo. And a relevant and caring Christmas greeting from Mary with a good focus on the work of the Mary Foundation and that this year has been hard, in special for the vulnerable.
I stumbled, for example, over this comment at the Mary Foundation's Facebook site in the comment section about her Christmas greeting today:
“I'm so glad that you are our Crown Princess! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your great work for us Danes through the Mary Foundation. It means more than you imagine! You’re are a very loving, sensible, and thoughtful person. I have loved from the beginning that you’re a very positive thinking person, even when times are difficult. This greeting warms in my heart as I’m depressed at the moment and it reminds me how grateful I am for life. You’re a gift for Denmark.”
2020 has been hard enough for the rest of us, my thoughts go to people suffering from depression, anxiety, loneliness or other mental disorders. It's been a even more tough year for them.

That's one of the nicest photos I've seen of the Crown Princess, other royal ladies could learn an thing or do from the Danish Crown Princess.

Great to get these updates from the Mary Foundation.
Then we learned that they also hold an annual Christmas lunch just like so many other 'companies'.
Their work has also been hit as I assume they have all had to work from home most of the time.

CP Mary send a message about the loneliness this period:
"In the Mary Foundation, we are concerned that what the pandemic can mean for the loneliness among the Danes. I think there are many who in the past year have felt the feeling of loneliness in earnest - perhaps for the first time. Others may have become even more socially isolated than they already were. We all have a responsibility to help fight loneliness. Even a small thing can make a big difference to another human being. " - H.K.H. The Crown Princess

If Mary was not Crown Princess, she should have recorded audiobooks!
She speaks the Danish language so beautifully (here she even sounds like a native Dane, and Danish is unbelievable hard to learn) and she has a very pleasant, calm, alluring voice.
And most important what comes out is always warm and caring - also this very relevant and important advice. Christmas is already a lonely time for many and this year will be lonely for even more and even more lonely for the most lonely. That’s sad!

Thanks Roskilde, I have often wondered how she has managed the language. This girl obviously loves Denmark and loves the Danish culture. She appears to have embraced the Danish way of doing things with aplomb. And she still looks very lovely. It can't have been easy for her in the early days of her marriage trying to adjust, but she has done it beautifully.

Here is what CP Mary writes (translated to english):
It is perhaps a little old-fashioned, but I'm still happy with my paper calendar alongside the digital. It gives me a good overview. As you can see, it looks a bit boring right now. But even though physical meetings have been canceled and a lot of events postponed indefinitely, there is still plenty to tackle with our work in the Mary Foundation.
At the weekly status meeting in the Mary Foundation's management, we talked, among other things, about a new study on the Danes' knowledge of partner violence, which we have just published. Among other things, it shows that many people have a good understanding of how complex partner violence is. That's really positive.
But we can also see that there is still a need for information. We are therefore continuing to work on this. Too many children, women and men live in families with partner violence. If we break with taboos and touch anxiety, we contribute to more people being able to get help.

Me too. I couldn't find my usual planner so I am making do. But you cant beat an open diary to organise your life.
As to Mary's spectacle, I really like them and the style really flatters her face. Ifind myself a little envious as they are so nice and it's time for new specs and I hate choosing frames.

Yesterday CP Mary had a digital meeting with the youth panel to talk about how they feel about this second shutdown.

A very key topic during these times.
"Some of the young people mention, among other things, that the good that may come out of this is that in future we can talk more openly about loneliness."
