Thanks MaggieDenmark, that was a great clip.
Mary was interviewed about the backpacks and she hoped they would make a little difference and that the backpacks are also meant as a symbolic gesture acknowledging the children.
The items in the packback are partly practical, 50 % of all children arriving at crisis centres have nothing with them. But there is also a postcard from Mary in the backpack, basically informing the children that what they are going through is not acceptable, it is not normal and there is an alternative life. (It's a sad fact that when children have seen their mothers beeing beaten all through their lives then they understandable come to the conclusion that all mothers are beaten up). The postcard can also be used to write back to the Mary Foundation, where the children can give feedback and went their thoughts, in an indirect way, to Mary - a person whom them "know".
The items in the backpack are used by paedagogues at the centres to "debrief" the children and explain to them that abuse is not acceptable and help them with their emotions.
I'll skip the international school and instead go to the end and the interview with the flowergirls, Karla age six, and to the right Sofia age five.
They thought Mary was "pretty sweet" and "had nice hair".
Mary asked them about their school and finally Karla said that it was nice to meet Mary.

TV2 had a journalist with Mary in Billund and have this interview/article on their website: Mary til tv2.dk: Vold i hjemmet isolerer mødre | GO' (There are a gallery in the top of the article)
Mary:
- What makes the biggest impression is how tabooed the issue of domestic violence is and how isolated the mothers in violent families are.
Figures from the Mary Foundation shows, that every year, about 2,200 children arrives with their mother at shelters and unfortunately some of them return back several times.
Mary:
- We know that there are many repeat visits to the shelters. It's very difficult for a woman to leave an abusive relationship, it's a very bold step to take.
The bags contain besides toys, toothbrush, water bottle and more also a letter from Mary, and it has great value for the children, explains the leader at a shelter, Lene Fribæk-Jensen: "There's a very fine letter from the Crown Princess where she invites the children to share what they have experienced. The children are touched by it (...)"
Mary explains about the card:
- The postcard is a greeting where we show the children that we see them and then they write back to the Mary Foundation and tell what they liked best about the backpack and often we hear some of their stories.
Even though the topic was serious Mary couldn't help but laugh out loud when a reporter asked if it also is her who's responsible for packing the childrens backpacks home at Amalienborg?
- Haha, yes it is... But they must learn to do it themselves

 Thanks, Roskilde.
That's a great topic to take up for Ultranyt. Topics from that (children's) news channel are now being used as part of the education about the society in my daughter's school.

This is such a great idea that the children receive something that they can call there own as many come to these centres with nothing.
Mary shows great commitment, she looks great and I love her smile.

Free of Bullying's Facebook page says that Mary, as usual, will participate in the Mary Foundation's Free of Bullying relay race. It happens this year on 14th June in Fælledparken, Copenhagen and Mary will heat up with the children and receive them at the finish line with their medals.
Last year we saw Christian participate in the run, maybe we will see him again this year? And Bella too?

So is it today that Mary together with the Mary Foundation and Save the Children hold their annual 'Free For Bullying' children relay race in Fælledparken, Copenhagen.
When the children cross the finish line Mary will together with Mr. Beard (known from the children's channel DR Ramasjang) handing out medals.
Last year, Christian attend the race along with some schoolmates as a surprise to the press. I'm a bit curious about if Christian again and maybe Bella will attend today?

Two nice pics from Facebook

So no Christian or Bella this year
It's a great event - a good way to say 'NO' to bullying together with no less than 1,500 other children and their families. The annual relay race has become a popular annual family event. We would really like to participate with our children too - unfortunately we have been prevented the last two years.
The next weekend the Mary Foundation will also held a relay race in Aarhus, Jutland.
Mary usually take turns visiting either the relay race in Copenhagen or in Aarhus.

Think I will post this little insider picture:
Helle Madsen, a mother, has uploaded her private picture from today's meeting with Mary:
"She oozes with beauty and energy Such wonderful day and experience for both son and mother (a very happy royalist)"

Here is a large lovely gallery with 66 pictures from today.
One happy beaming Crown Princess, eh? Those events with the Mary Foundation are the apple of her eye.

The Mary Foundation informs that there this year was a record number of participants:

By the way, The Mary Foundation launched yesterday evening the facebook page about The Mary Foundation's work and events (the page is run by the staff of the The Mary Foundation)

Want to see a real Crown Princess playing air guitar?
Here's a nice video from today:

Another BT article:
Fire-årige Siri ignorede Kronprinsessens bekymring - Royale | www.bt.dk
About little Siri, almost 4 years old, and wearing a princess tiara. She was lucky to chat with Mary several times during the relay race.
- She said I looked really pretty - Siri told BT's reporter.
Even before the race started Mary spotted the little Siri and her tiara and asked worried whether she was sure that the tiara would remain in place during the race.
That was Siri sure it would, and she then ran the relay race in the best princess style and crossed the finish line still wearing the tiara on the head. Here she received another little chat with Mary who handed out her medal and praised her for both having been so good to run.. and to have retained the tiara on her head.
