How odd that she should be wearing the same dress she wore to another gala in the US a couple of years ago.

I've been looking forward to her wearing it again (as well as many other gowns) but a little strange to be worn twice in USA as much as I respect her choice to wear whatever she wants.

I agree they both look fantastic, Mary's dress is so pretty.
They certainly don't let the grass grow under their feet, from breakfast with the US veterans to the ball in the evening and Frederik had the run as well, hope they have a good nights sleep.
I just noticed Mary first wore the dress 7 years ago and still looks wonderful, so pleased to see it again.

This is one of my favorite gowns on Mary. The cut of the gown is fabulous -- it also shows how toned Mary is!

Her clothing choices are very well thought over, that's why I think it's odd. I'm also sure that next to no Americans know who she is Apart from the Brits... Royals get no attention in the States.
This being said, Mary looks even better in this dress than 7 years ago. And her dancing skills far outshine her reading aloud skills! Anything physical is really easy for her it seems. It also made me think: this must have been one of the things she learned as she got engaged to Frederik, to dance with a partner! Let's face it, very few 15-45 year olds still know how to do it. We rather having clubbing moves

Hello!
I've been out of the loop for a bit and I saw only today that the Crown Princely Couple are in the US and will be in Boston today and tomorrow! I wold love to see if I can manage to go to one of the events but for some of them it is difficult to know the location. Can somebody help?
- Where is the new showroom of Guldmann Inc?
-Where is the DONG Energy Breakfast Event taking place?
- Where will "The Drivers of Food Innovation in the U.S. and Europe" seminar take place?
I'm just hoping to see if I can make it to one of these events to get a glimpse of either half of the couple going in or going out! It seems difficult but I'll try!

This is the contact of Guldmann Inc. in Boston. I don't know where their new showroom is but maybe you can ask them?

Appalled, heck no.....jealous that she can still wear perfectly after birth of twins! That was the talk of society's ladies. Their envy started the day before and of course all were on Fred and the look in his eye when he stares at Mary. That is what we were all watching. So refreshing and relaxed.

You are absolutely correct on that point. At a budget assembly meeting last night, I was the only one there who knew or even cared who Mary and Fred were or what country they represented. Most knew I enjoy reading about Royals and history so was asked. Also when they realized Mary came from Australia and I travel there, they thought I might be interested in the news article [back on page 6]! Now if it was about baseball, basketball, football or soccer, big difference.

great points, Hannelore. i share your thoughts. royals are not known in the US (or many other countries, i dare even say that most people in europe wouldn't know who F&M or many other european royals were) apart from the british ones. and even if they did, they wouldn't know that they visited some years ago, and even less what they wore, but you are absolutely right: i thought that it was strange too that she wore this dress again for a US gala precisely because of the reason you say. royals are aware of when they use each piece and what is appropriate, so it is interesting to see that she chose to repeat it. who knows, maybe she just fancied using it or changed her mind last minute as to which dress to wear and this one popped up as an option.
yes, i thought the same about dancing too. i think she must have learnt it as part of her 'royal training' for precisely this sort of situations. today's generations, including mary's, wouldn't know how to dance with a partner...
i liked mary's reaction when she was welcomed by the flower girl in this video and she opened her arms and screamed 'thank you!' to her.

Se den sjældne video: Mary og Frederik danser til bal i Washington
Yeah, that dance-video is all over the news here in DK.
M&F are doing something-whatever in USA, but they are dancing! - It's almost, kinda like Dancing With The Stars (or whatever the show is called in your country).
Early this morning TV2 claimed it was the first time we've seen M&F dance since their wedding. They've corrected that one by now...
Anyway, judging from the footwork (we can't see Mary's) Frederik may swing, but he ain't got the moves. - So perhaps a couple of dancing lessons?

Frederik doesn't seem a "natural" on the dance floor! But they are sure enjoying the moment. And, I have to say, it was not an easy song to dance to!

lol. It must be so nerve-racking to get up and dance in front of everyone. I have done it in my 15th birthday party, where everyone's eyes were on me- and I was beyond nervous.
Frederik and Mary are a little bit more use to it, they also open the dance floor in NY 2011, http://www.hellomagazine.com/imagene...s-mary-1-a.jpg
Regardless of their dancing skills, the joy was clear to see. Glad they had fun.
and nice too that we got a bit of Frederik's speech last night. He did a great job, especially in his third language (Danish and French being the first two)

An interesting resource to see what a trip like this one means for and is organized for Danish businesses. And, as a bonus, I did find out more venues...not easy!
