As Mary's personal hair and make up stylist Søren joins her nearly every time. Hence the great looks she's been sporting the last 13 years I'd say
Frederik didn't really look at ease when he handed the medal to the blond lady (who is she?)in the monarchy's FB video - they're doing a great job on their page so far IMO. Maybe Mary would have been a better choice to hand out things on a stage...

How's the visit being received in America? I can't find much media coverage as of yet. Will Fred have meetings with President Obama or Vice-President Biden?

I haven't seen anything on the major news sites yet. There's some sort of election campaign going on that seems to be the big story
A former classmate of mine lives in the DC area - she hadn't heard about it, but she said so many royals and other famous people come through that they're sort of 'jaded' about the whole thing. Me, I would have dragged myself out of bed and limped to wherever they are just to get a glimpse

I guess they are. This visit is a business promotion with two ministers and 60 companies accompanying, so I guess it's mostly about the Danes meeting American counterparts.

the dress is the Jerry floral-print silk crepe de chine dress:

mary isn't the first royal who uses another dress by vilshenko previously worn by another royal: mette marit and claire of luxembourg also shared one vilshenko dress:

i wonder how mary acquired the dress - perhaps her or her stylist saw a picture of charlene rocking that dress and said 'i want one too!'? i don't blame her/her stylist - the dress is gorgeous!

From the agenda on page one, It looks like this time there will not be visits with the President or VP. Our political climate right now is a little hectic at the moment
But Frederik will visit the " 'Whip' of Democrats in the House of Representatives, Steny Hoyer, in the U.S. Capitol, the home of the U.S. Congress. "
in today's business luncheon they will meet "U.S. administration, Congress, NGOs who work with sustainability. During the luncheon, the Crown Prince Couple will witness the signing of a cooperation agreement between Copenhagen and Washington D.C."
Frederik will also visit and give a speech at the Clean Water Caucus of the United States Congress.

I would understand a courtesy call with the President (or Vice President) if Frederik was the head of state of Denmark, but he is not, so...

A whip is pretty high up the ranks in the Democrat party, so a meeting at that level is to be expected.
Had Frederik been king it would have been another matter, then the meeting would have been at the highest possible level. I.e. President or Vice President. - Anything less would be a diplomatic snub.

Obama will not bother with a CP of a country hardly anyone knows in the US. He'll do high profile stuff, nothing more.
Yes, the Whip is am important person, just look at Frank Underwood and where it got him

I prefer the original whip, Francis Urquhart. He had class! - And the series was full of humor.

very impressive. These Business trips with the Crown Prince Couple seem very successful and are only growing.
Love that they have separate events, covers more ground in a jammed packed agenda
Mary also read a story to the kids
"We love seeing patients enjoy a classic #HansChristianAndersen fairy tale read to them by the lovely #MaryCrownPrincessofDenmark."

video of Frederik on his run with US veterans

more about the run with the veterans (Danish and U.S.) and the impact it had. It looks like after the run, they had breakfast with the royals at the Danish Embassy
article from the U.S. Department of Defense
Wounded Warriors Tackle Monument Run with Crown Prince of Denmark > U.S. DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE > Article
"That comfort in banter and candor, Ferrell said, speak to the character of the dignitary. “When you have someone at that high a level who is so emotionally invested in the veterans -- in Denmark and in the United States -- able to come out here and spend time with us, … it shows what he really cares about, where his heart really lies,” Ferrell said."
“After leaving active service, being able to see the alliances that we still have with the great country of the Danish, it’s nice to be able to be able to let our hair down and have time like what we had this morning, where we can keep growing the camaraderie,” the elder Gallegos said.
“He’s a down-to-earth guy, a regular person. … He just has a lot more responsibilities, and I’m looking forward to our current and future endeavors with Denmark,” the younger Gallegos remarked.
After the run, participants joined the royal family at the Danish Embassy for breakfast, the latest gesture in a growing bond between the two nations,"
added:
"Honored to give H.R.H. Crown Prince Frederik Henrik Christian ceremonial plate from @PrinceGeorgesMD w/ @WhipHoyer."
