Crown Prince Frederik has agreed to become Patron of the Year of Science22, "which has the overall purpose of communicating the importance of science for both children and adults throughout 2022.

The UN has named 2022 "International Year of Basic Science and Development", and the Danish Year of Science22 is in line with the UN's objectives and ideas. In 2022, it will be 100 years since Niels Bohr received the Nobel Prize in Physics":

Sounds wonderful! Will look forward to seeing him participate in events throughout the year. Something to look forward to.

And it's something we might very well see him bring his children along to.

Or at least from time to time see him interacting with children, something he is very good at.

Yes..especially Vincent and Josephine. I wonder also if now that he's 16 they will include Christian in more engagements such as these too, school permitting. Or now that she will be 15, they will start having Isabella participate more in events.

And it is always a win win seeing Frederik interact with kids! He is so good with them and kids flock to him!

Together with Danish actress Shireen Rasool Crown Prince Frederik as Patron of the Year of Science22 has participated in the 24th part of the Sports Advent calendar. The calendar is already part of the Year of Science22 projects.

As patron of the State of Green, On Monday 25 April, HRH the Crown Prince together with the Minister of Climate Dan Jørgensen will visit a number of companies, all of which produce and develop energy-efficient solutions to ensure that we utilize our energy in the best possible way - for the benefit of our economy and climate.

This isn't just a routine visit to Danish companies. This is as serious as it can be.

As you know most of EU allowed itself foolishly to become dependent on gas from Russia, and now Russia has gone nuts!
So we need to find new energy sources as fast as at all possible, preferably yesterday. Importing gas from other countries won't cover the consumption and we risk ending up in the same situation sometime in the future - political extortion.
All available resources including a ginormous amount of money will be put in to enure that EU will become self-sufficient with energy and preferably green energy while we are at it.
And this is where these Danish businesses come in. DK has accumulated a considerable know-how in producing carbon-friendly energy. These companies will receive a lot of money for research and development based on what they are already doing, if what they come up really takes off, we are talking major orders for these businesses! Not only in covering the Danish demands, but hopefully also in helping other EU countries in finding and implementing alternative energy solutions adjusted to their needs.
And once EU has gone self-sufficient in regards to energy in say 10 years, 15 at the most. That knowledge and these solutions will be in very high demand pretty much everywhere else on the planet, which translates to a lot of export!

So to put cynically, the Russian invasion of Ukraine may turn out to be a blessing in disguise for EU in the long term. - And who knows, perhaps Ukraine will experience a wirthschaftswunder. After all a large part of the country, it's industry and infrastructure needs to be rebuild from scratch, so I would not be surprised if a number of the largest manufactures will be placed in Ukraine. W may see Ukraine as an economic powerhouse in 25 years. - I sure hope so.

Frederik is so much in his element on these visits. He really geeks out over all this stuff. Plus, I believe he is very knowledgeable on the subject as well.

Velux is the producer in DK of windows that reduce heat-spill through the windows, while at the same time ensuring a healthy climate indoors - provided that you ventilate your home regularly of course.

We changed all our windows some ten years ago I think, to three-layer windows (which is standard now) and we could read the result in savings on the heating almost right away. - A good investment for us!

The US should be paying close attention to what is being done in DK re energy efficiency and green technology. But everything gets so politicized here that we get absolutely nowhere! Forget climate change, our demise in the US will be extinction by RED TAPE!!

Agree 100%. He has been a patron of the State of Green for years now.

As President of the Royal Danish Geographical Society, HRH Crown Prince presents the "Geography Talent Award"
https://www.billedbladet.dk/kongeli...prisfest-det-er-bare-om-slaa-lyttelapperne-ud

After listening with great interest to their presentation, which among other things dealt with current topics such as climate change in Greenland and deforestation in vulnerable areas, the Crown Prince presented the award and spoke for a long time with the young people.

Subsequently, Crown Prince Frederik told BILLED-BLADET how it reminded him of his own study time to hear about the young people's exciting projects.

He also said a few words on Isabella's upcoming confirmation

Crown Prince Frederik opened the World Food Summit at Christiansborg Palace today, May 5.

The theme of this year's summit is "Transforming Food Systems to Combat Climate Change":

HRH The Crown Prince gave the opening speech at the summit with the theme “Transforming Food Systems to Combat Climate Change”.

In 2018, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince has been the patron of Food Nation - a public-private partnership that aims to increase awareness of Denmark as a leading agricultural and food nation. Yesterday, the Crown Prince presided over the opening of the Food Nations online event Global Food Talk “Creating resilient agri-food systems with circularity in mind” at the Food Nations Visitor Center in Copenhagen.

According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the agri-food sector accounts for a third of man-made greenhouse gas emissions that drive climate change. At the same time, the global agricultural and food sector must produce between 40-54% more raw materials for food, feed and biofuels than in 2012, if one is to feed a world population that is expected to reach 9.7 billion by 2050.

At Global Food Talk yesterday, there was a special focus on the question of how circular methods can drive the green transformation of the agricultural and food system, while ensuring the availability of healthy and sustainable food for all. At the event, the Crown Prince gave an opening speech and subsequently participated in conversations and networks with the other participants.

Thanks for posting! His engagement yesterday was about very important/relevant topics and it got mostly overlooked! Glad the DRF got around to posting about it.

I've been looking for a schedule if events but have yet to find one. Not sure when the events start today. It is only 10:30 am here in California so the first day may not have even begun yet. Hopefully we will get some photos.

:previous: I thought the two of you would join hands and meet Frederik. ;)

Climate technology and the Internet of the future have been the main topic for the last 48 hours for His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and a number of participants in the DenmarkBridge network meeting CEO Summit 2022, which took place in San Francisco, USA ?
The Crown Prince is the protector of DenmarkBridge, which is a Danish association that works to build bridges between Danish business and digital development in Silicon Valley. During the year, DenmarkBridge concludes different types of activities on both sides of the Atlantic, which allows the association members to rethink business models and rethink values.

Today, Frederik hosted, as patron, a networking meeting with a subsequent dinner for the association DenmarkBridge.

"H.R.H. The Crown Prince is patron of the association DenmarkBridge, which aims to ensure Danish companies and entrepreneurs better access to knowledge, networks and capital in Silicon Valley in California."

Here is hoping for a picture or two.
