Interesting wallpaper!

What room is that? I thought we had all of them covered in the residence thread. Have they redecorated one of the rooms?

As the patron, the Crown Prince is at the official opening of the House of Green.

Another event not on the calendar, this past Monday (February 18)

Frederik is patron of the Crown Prince Frederik Center for Public Leadership in Aarhus, which was opened last year for his 50th birthday

Crown Prince Frederik becomes Patron of the Danish Hunters' Union

A new patronage for Crown Prince Frederik!

It was announced today that he has become Patron of the Danish Hunters' Union, "one of Denmark's largest green organizations with over 800 local associations and 90,000 members".

Besides representing the interests of hunters, the "association works for the conservation and improvement of nature, supports and promotes research in nature, and conveys the joy of hunting and nature for children and young people".

Crown Prince Frederik takes over the patronage from his father Prince Henrik who had been Patron from 1972 until his death in 2018.

Thanks, Iceflower.

I can add that the Hunter's Association (there is basically one one here in DK) is, in contrast to other countries, growing. The new members are very much people who live in the cities and not least young women.
The most common reason for joining, and becoming a hunter, is a wish to get closer to the nature and the wildlife. - You can get a lot of experiences simply by sitting and waiting.

In other countries hunters are subjected to quite a good deal of resentment, but not here in DK. Presumably because the country is so small that everyone know someone who hunt. It's difficult to vilify a group of people, if you uncle and older sister are among them.
Another reason IMO opinion is that there is a pretty unsentimental approach to hunting here in DK. There is no attempt to hide what it is all about - killing animals and why. Nor is there any "lion-king spin" on hunting.
School and kindergarten children routinely visit hunters, see shot animals being broken up.
Just as importantly, and that I think is the main reason why Frederik accepted this, is that the association is very much dedicated to preservation and to maintaining and indeed increasing areas with "wild nature" as far as that is possible in a small country.
The Hunter's Association work closely with the nature preservation organizations as well as the fishing and ornithological associations keeping a close eye on the condition of wildlife and nature.

So without elevating hunters to saints, (they are not!) I think it's a good thing Frederik becomes their patron.

Yesterday, Frederik as patron, presened grants for the Anders Lassen Foundation.
The Anders Lassen Foundation is a non-profit foundation whose purpose is to reward special military efforts and support Danish injured soldiers

Thanks, Polyesco.

An interesting choice of recipients.
The four persons in the first photo were involved in the Kim Wall murder. You may have heard about it abroad.
A Danish inventor, who among other things build his own mini-submarine, invited a Swedish journalist, Kim Wall, aboard his submarine and took her on a cruise out to sea with the purpose of killing her. I will not go into details about why and what he did, sufficient to say that she was chosen because he wanted to murder a women, any woman - in order to gratify his very special urges...
After his deed, he cut up the body and dumped it in open sea, then he deliberately sank his submarine in order to wash away any traces of the murder.
He did not succeed, and it was quickly clear to the police that Kim Wall was in all likelihood dead and somewhere on bottom of the strait between Denmark and Sweden.
But where? Even though the water is relative shallow, it's still a lot of sea! And they weren't even sure what course he had sailed after the murder.
In came Swedish cadaver-dogs and totally incredible they were able to smell some of the remains of Kim Wall above the surface of the sea, even though the body parts were at the sea floor!
And that's where the navy diving team came in, the divers being supplied from the Frogman Corps. It's difficult to find anything on the seafloor, but they succeeded. All the body parts of Kim Wall were eventually found, and now the forensic team came in, they were the ones who were to establish exactly what had taken place, despite working on body-parts that had been under water.
And that's why the police officer in charge of the investigation, the forensic specialist, a diver from the Frogman Corps and the head of the navy diving team has been honored for their work in this very difficult investigation.

Kim Wall's family was present as well.

Her murderer is now serving an indefinite sentence, which de facto means incarceration for the rest of his natural life.

The second photo depicts three anonymous gentlemen from the Army Special Forces, the Jaeger Corps, and a foreign female officer.

Today, Frederik attended as patron a reception in connection with the launch of books from Trap Danmark.

HRH The Crown Prince becomes the patron of the Copenhagen Boys' Choir

Copenhagen Boys' Choir The Royal Office has roots back to the earliest choir music. The choir was in its present form created in 1924 and got its own choir school in 1929. The choir is affiliated with Sankt Annæ Gymnasium (Sangskolen) and Copenhagen Cathedral. Here they get 180 boys aged 9-14 who are associated with the choir professional song training as an integral part of their regular schooling. The choir also includes 30 professional male singers aged 20-50.

The Copenhagen Boys' Choir has traditionally sung at several major events in the Danish royal family, including the Crown Prince Couple's wedding in 2004.

The Crown Prince takes over the patronage after Prince Henrik, who was the choir's protector from 1972 until his death. Earlier, King Frederik 9 has also been the patron of the choir

Why not?

But I don't quite see Frederik as a singer, more a like hummer. :D
So it can't come from his own desire to sing.
Unless perhaps in the bathroom...

"Crown Prince Frederik is particularly fond of song and music, and he has actually even sung in choir. At the Krebs School, the Crown Prince was part of the school choir, which consisted of both boys and girls. Frederik did well as solid 2. soprano."

Now, Muhler, what do you know....;)

I'm genuinely surprised!
I can just see the scene at their home when the children were sung to in the evening when it was time to go to sleep. - With Mary peeking around the doorframe...
???? :w00t: :in_love:

Frederik, who was in a merry mood, today took part in annual meeting of the Growth Association, which encourage entrepreneurship and here Frederik as patron from DenmarkBridge presented an award to the gaming firm Unity Technologies.
Gaming and gaming technology has quietly become very big business here in DK.

Summary of article in Billed Bladet #20, 2019.
Written by Ulrik Ulriksen.

As you know Frederik attended the annual School Olympics at Østerbro Stadium recently.
Here he mingled with the children, had a look at the competitions, banged a drum to keep up the spirits of the children and fired a starters gun.
This was the eleventh time this even took place for 4-7 graders competing in five disciplines.
Frederik said: "It's the eleventh time I'm here and I must say it's a pleasure to be here each time and see that the flower of Danish youth do bother doing this and turn it into a party. The children do this because it's good and because they gain something from it and have red cheeks."

He remembered fondly how much he enjoyed sports at school added: "We must grab hold of the children from very young and especially now where they are in an age right before the teenage years and puberty, so it's important that they become interested in sports and like today have a good day and experience something.
After having taken part in School Olympics there are quite a few children who sign up for a sports club."

Frederik also told about his own children. And she took part in another school Olympics in another part of Copenhagen.
"I have a daughter who took part in School Olympics in the suburbs yesterday and who did really well and that was quite fun to look at".

But what sort of sports are they into, his four children?
"My own children play soccer and tennis and riding and things like that, so they have the same healthy approach to life as many other Danish children."

A delightful story about dad and daughter from BT.
https://www.bt.dk/tennis/kronprinsen-hyldede-dansk-tenniskomet-fik-klar-besked-fra-sin-datter

Frederik arrived to the club with Christian, Isabella was already there. Both his oldest play tennis at the club, HIK.

Bella was sitting in the front-row, in her tennis gear and daddy wanted to sit next to his daughter but: "This is Holger's seat."
So daddy had to move a seat further down the row and Holger Rune, whom this was all about, sat next to Isabella.
She may be daddy's little girl, but only until a good looking hunk comes around.
Holger is sixteen, and as such just the right age for tween-girl.

Nice to see the children participate in official engagements that they could enjoy :flowers:

Let's return to that event, somewhat late, I know.

Summary of article in Billed Bladet #25, 2019.
Written by Ulrik Ulriksen.

As you recall Frederik, with Christian in tow, went to the HIK tennis club, to celebrate a member there. Sixteen year old Holger Rune, who won the Junior French Open championship.

Both Christian and Isabella play tennis at the club.
Isabella was already there, dressed for training later on.
Daddy got a big hug and then Bella returned to her seat at the front row, while Frederik said hello to many other who were present.
Then it was time to celebrate the good Holger and daddy Frederik very naturally went to sit next to his daughter, but no way!
She said: "That's Holger's place." So dad had to move over... :D (*)

Okay, Holger was cheered - while sitting next to Isabella.

When asked afterwards Holger informed our reporter that he had in fact not played with anyone from the CP family - yet. But he'd like to, one day.

(*) I recognize the symptoms.
Isabella is a tween - about 10-12. No longer a child - certainly not in their own eyes! But not yet a teen.
Isabella has reached the "romance-age."
It starts with posters of Disney couples in romantic settings.
Then the boy band posters come up.
Followed at age 12 by the individual teenage boy singers.

At that age it's the romance and the romantic scenes (preferably grand scenes, see Disney) that makes a tween swoon. Followed personifying the romantic ideals, first in boy bands members and whatever they are singing and then at age 12 dreaming about romantic scenes with a specific boy. That's where individual boy-singers comes in - and Holger. :D
A twelve year old tween girl couldn't care less about twelve year old boys. They are stupid and immature!
But a sixteen year old boy, he is worth dreaming a little about...

M&F are in for a few interesting years!
