Frederik today, as patron of the Danish Railway Museum, inaugurated a new play and learning area "Kids Station" at the Danish Railway Museum, Odense C.:

And a cute little episode and video from the article:

"Everything was - as is appropriate for a royal visit - planned down to the least minute. But as the folksy Crown Prince and patron of the museum entered there was rearranged in the programme. He commanded the children closer to him and the stage, grabbed the train whistle and whistled for departure and consecration. The children ran away delighted for open the new children area, but a three-year-old girl at his side began to cry.
The experienced father went down in squatting, comforted her and took her hand and together they walked into the museum."

Christian, Bella, Vincent and Josephine had stayed home this time.

Summary of short article in Billed Bladet #6, 2015.
Written by Ken Richter - Who in his usual style describes what happened. No more, no less.

As you know Frederik recently inaugurated the playground that is part of the new Danish Railway Museum, located in Odense.
Among the children who has been equipped with the appropriate caps and who were eagerly waiting for Frederik's signal to board the train was three year old Freja. And all the commotion was too much for her, so she stood behind while the other children milled onboard the train. Until Frederik comforted her, took her hand and led her on he train. Freja wasn't sad very though and soon played alongside the other children. (I noticed in one of the clips that a woman rushed up to Freja, presumably her mother, but by then Frederik had Freja and the situation under control.
Afterwards Frederik said: "I'm fine with driving by train because it's such a lovely way to relax". - He didn't go by train back to Copenhagen though.

- It must be quite a while since Frederik was last in a train I imagine! Nowadays there are no compartments, so he would have to sit in a first class wagon just like everybody else.

Thanks Muhler,

In fact, it isn't long time ago. Frederik and Mary took the night train home from Aalborg to Copenhagen after the Crown Prince Couple's Award show last year in October. A trip that takes about 6 hours. They arrived at Copenhagen Central Rail yard at 5:30 in the morning and have probably slept the whole way.

Later today,

CP Frederik presented grants from the Crown Prince Frederik Fund in Frederik VIII's palace, Amalienborg. The Crown Princely Family's home.

Crown Prince Frederik's Fund's purpose is to provide financial support to students in the social sciences to one year's study at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard.

Tomorrow, CP Frederik as patron will hands out the medals at the Danish Championships finals in wheelchair tennis in Allerød Tennis Club. But Frederik himself will also receive an honor for his longtime support for the Danish Tennis Federation - he will receive the Danish Tennis Federation's Gold Pin.

I guess we will learn more about that tomorrow - hope Frederik has recovered from his pneumonia and is ready for tomorrow - pneumonia can last two weeks, but his event for tomorrow isn't canceled yet.

That's great that he is getting a small recognition.
It's still in the DRF calendar so hopefully that is a good sign

Thanks Muhler. Good to see him back on his feet. I guess he made it through the day with aspirins - when I last year had pneumonia I lived on aspirins and water for 7-10 days

Great to see that Frederik is feeling better and he did not have to cancel even if he is not feeling 100%. But he has been a great support for Danish tennis, the pictures of those in wheelchairs playing tennis is impressive

As you know Frederik was honored yesterday and Kongehuset has published the motivation speech for the award of The Gold Pin:

DM finalerne i kørestolstennis - Kongehuset

Quote:
Your Royal Highness,

It is the Danish Tennis Federation's board and I a very great pleasure and honor today to be able to assign exactly You the federation's finest honor, namely the Danish Tennis Federation's Gold Pin.

All kind of sport has an essential place in Your daily life and free time. You both running, skiing, cycling, swimming, sailing and playing tennis.

Tennis has followed You from the junior time and until today, both on the pitch as an active player, and off the pitch as an active spectator, both nationally and internationally.

In January 2006, You honored the Danish Tennis Federation by taking on this mission as our patron of the federation. To have You as a patron is not only an honor, it is also something we are all very proud of. We are especially proud that You always very friendly supports the federation and all those activities where we ask for Your support.

In 2007 You were awarded the Danish Tennis Association's Honorary pin and in 2009 -after recommendation of Kurt Nielsen -was You appointed Danish Tennis Federation's second honorary member.

In 2009 in Copenhagen at the 121st IOC Session You was elected to the IOC board. That tennis and not least the entire Denmark-Sport has got a very active sportsman totally in the front is a great pleasure for both sports federations, athletes and us volunteer leaders.

You have spread joy by several tennis events where you have helped to honor tennis players as well as You have actively trained juniors on the red gravel.

Your kind support extends widely at different tennis events:

In 2011 You were present in Paris when Caroline Wozniacki was honored as the world's best female tennis player.

In 2012, You opened the International Tennis Federation's annual meeting in Copenhagen, and at the same time You honored the Wimbledon Champion in the men's doubles, Frederik Nielsen. That same year, You trained juniors outdoors on the red gravel in the important Play and Stay concept.

In 2013, You honored eight tennis players with the great ITF "Davis Cup Commitment Award" and appointed at the same time Frederik Nielsen to the federation's fourth official ambassador.

In 2014, You honored the same Frederik Nielsen with ITF's "Davis Cup Commitment Award".

As I earlier this year was guest at Roland Garros in connection with the French Open, I said hello to the IOC-President, German Thomas Bach. Via ITF-President Francesco Ricci Bitti the conversation went quickly to that You are a very committed and active patron of the Danish Tennis Federation. This did not come as a surprise to Thomas Bach, who commented:

"He is also a real sportsman."

I endorse fully the statement. You are a real sportsman who loves the sporting challenges across all sports.

Your Royal Highness, very heartfelt congratulations on the award of the Danish Tennis Federation's Gold Pin. You have distinguished them in particularly high and valuable level of tennis, congratulations.

Another article from Royalista, with a pic of Frederik wearing novelty sunglasses, that I'm sure Roskilde and Polyesco in particular will appreciate.

Only sunglasses like those worn in the Matrix series are cool.

These Frederik wore here, are some Terminator would discard on the spot as uncool.

CP Frederik has been very early up this morning. At 7am this morning, he as patron, participated in the 'Made in Denmark Pro-Am' at Himmerland in North Jutland. Just like last year.

BB has already an article and picture:

I have just seen a clip in the morning TV2 news. North Jutland, the "Made In Denmark" event and the great Danish golfers are proud and delighted that the Crown Prince again this year supports their tournament - as it obviously means a lot of publicity and coverage in the press. And then they simply like Frederik as a person.

This is a big event with the greatest Danish golfers (some of them have returned home from abroad so they could attend) so I think we can expect a good coverage.

BT has a nice gallery from Frederik's event today:

You need a little smile on your face? You know, Frederik is a GREAT sportsman - good at all kinds of sports - but as Frederik himself said at last year's 'Made in Denmark' he can't keep up with wife Mary when it comes to golf. And Frederik? Well, he today also had to take a little walk after his golf ball... out in the bushes

Thanks, Roskilde.

A video from BB, where Frederik demonstrates the art of telling bad jokes. (I love telling bad jokes myself). Kronprins Frederik var dagens mand i Himmerland | billedbladet.dk

At some point Frederik is asked how it's going and he replies: "Oh, it's hit after hit, until you end up in a hole".

The first time we see Frederik hitting the ball in the video. Someone says in the background that it's the best hit of the day.

Towards the end Frederik is passing a number of spectators with a man wearing red pants by his side. The man say something to Frederik I Can't make out. Perhaps someone have a better hearing than me?
The man in question is known here in DK as Dyne-Larsen = Duvet-Larsen. He is the founder and owner of the discount bedlinen-chain Jysk. The financial crisis has been very kind to him! Partly because people saved money by buying in his stores and partly because he has a policy of: when everybody else save money and cut down, he buys.
The only country so far he has not done well in so far is China. To the Chinese middleclass, saving money isn't (yet) attractive. The more expensive the thing is you buy, the more status.

However, this is not just about having a good day on the field with the friends. This is very much about promoting this particular golf course internationally and the areas other attractions, in order to attract players and preferably tournaments. - As we all know, there is good money in golf.

Great in promoting the golf tournaments in Denmark. its a huge business.
Recently a major golf tournament was moved from the Trump golf resorts here in the US (due to Donald Trump's stupid and offensive remarks) and Im sure he lost a lot of money.

the windmills in the background are a nice view

Thanks to all who posted pictures of the golf tournament. I see Frederik has a female caddy. It also looks as if he may have lost some weight during his illness, but he has a good color. I wonder if he will continue to train for the Swedish Classic - he said he would when he returned from his holiday, but then he got sick.

As for Donald Trump losing a lot of money - what is a 'lot of money' to you and me is probably a 'drop in the bucket' to him.
