There is nothing wrong with saying that perhaps Katja was more pretty, why is that so bad? there will always be people more ot less beautiful than Mary. Thoes people who were compared to Mary, Mary were also compared to them, how do you think they feel. Mary is a pretty enough girl, and to one man she is the most pretty out of all of them.

She had swedish relatives then? Or living in Sweden? I remember reading something like that... but, after all, its 10 years ago so perhaps I got things mixed up :)
Nothing "wrong" with beeing Danish I am too. But for Frederik to have had a Danish wife never thought that could have been an option, it would never have had the same inpact, they could never have "hyped" a girl from Aarhus or Vejle up as much as some one from farway, too much past i think they call it.
I do not know if Katja had some swedish relatives, sorry.
The photos of Frederick's other girlfriends are nice, however, I don't see Fred "smiling" the way he always did when he was around Mary ... and, since the wedding, that's practically all I've noticed ~ a big smile on Fred's face! I think he picked the girl he really loved.
i was not royal watching during the time frederik dated these women
but Mary seems to be the one he have been showing off more before their official engagement

Mary is refined, and I find her as pretty as the other ones. The fact is, she is Queen material...maybe the others weren't.
