I saw this picture years ago (I think it was on Netty's Royalty Page but I can't remember) that Jacqueline posted on page 1. Anyway, I spent ages trying to find a pair of trousers and jumper like that as I thought Frederik looked so cool LOL! I like the fact that amongst all the crown princes, he breaks the mold abit in terms of what he wears - even to official functions.
Well, this thread definately deserves more pics!

Frederik will be turning 45 in a couple of days and I thought it could be interesting to compare him now, with his mother and morfar, Frederik IX, when they were 45. - In 1944 and 1985 respectively.

- For better comparison all three pics are in black and white.

There's only this one picture without much description, so maybe for an upcoming interview?

These are very nice pictures . I wonder if it for an interview or project
It looks like he is wearing sporting gear

It's indeed a great portrait.

Unfortunately, not a new one. I have just found it.

It's from the interview with Active Training in 2012.
See more pictures here:

Thanks ladies :flowers:

Good portrait of Mary.

I prefer the black and white of Frederik, there is usually more soul in a b&w photo than in a color photo.

Fred's brownish suits looks excellent. He looks tired.

I'll post my question here, in order to not veer the other thread off course.:flowers:

Frederik is in Thailand for the King's cremation ceremony.
He is wearing a white uniform

It appears to be this one

During a previous state visit to Thailand he wore this one

So my question, why the different white uniforms. they both are navy no?
is it due to the season (winter/summer)? rank? type of event?

I'm not sure, but could it be about what kind of event it is, a day uniform or gala uniform.

This might alos be the reason he is not wearing his Thai order.

:previous: Frederik is wearing the full dress summer uniform of the navy. The summer uniform is for obvious reasons also used in hot climates.

Why the Thai protocol dictates the full dress uniform only, rather than the gala uniform I don't know. - Perhaps because a gala uniform is considered too festive?

Thanks Muhler for bringing some clarity to the matter.

Dress code (mourning version) was the same as for Dutch opening of parliament: military uniform or jacquet, ladies in (long) dress with hats.

Gala uniforms are for black tie or white tie.

i notice frederik doesn’t use any order just like hakkoon?

That’s a great picture of our lovely Crown Prince!
We really have a handsome future King and he will be a respected and loved one.

Look forward to see his opening speech to the virtual business visit.
It will be exiting to see when the fysical visit can take place in this uncertain time we are living in right now.

A new photo of CP Frederik was posted today on the Instagram of a Royal photographer (he has taken many photos of the family)

It shows Frederik in uniform on the Dannebrog. From what I can gather the photograph will appear in the upcoming book about the Royal Ship turning 90.

Great Photo!!
