I wonder if he flew to USA from London directly after attending the Coronation.?

I wonder if he flew to USA from London directly after attending the Coronation.?

He would have had to imo given the CEO Summit began on Sunday and he had to fly from London all across the US to the west coast.

Not only is Andreas Mogensen an astronaut, which is interesting in itself. But he is also a man who whenever he opens his mouth, something intelligent and intriguing comes out.
There are quite a few people who live their entire lives without that ever happening...

I notice with some delight that Frederik was also fascinated with Space 1999 back in the 70's.
It's still a great series to watch, albeit also for other reasons than the actual plot.

And 2001 A Space Odyssey. The sci-fi movie.

Crown Prince Frederik participated in the conference "Leadership as a solution locally, nationally and globally" at the Crown Prince Frederik's Center for Public Management in Frederiksberg today, May 23:

"Niamey, Niger
His Royal Highness the Crown Prince was this evening received by Niger's President, His Excellency Mohamed Bazoum, in the Presidential Palace in the capital Niamey.
Together with Minister for Development Cooperation and Global Climate Policy Dan Jørgensen, His Royal Highness is visiting the African country to focus on a number of agendas that all revolve around the fight for the climate.
Niger and surrounding nations are particularly vulnerable to climate change with temperatures rising 1.5 times faster than the global average."

Niger is not the safest place on Earth! - Even though international forces, led by France, have hunted down a number of Islamists in the north of the country, they are still active.

Day 2.

"A major political priority in the African country of Niger is the right to schooling for all. That was one of the messages when His Royal Highness the Crown Prince visited two Danish-supported schools in the capital Niamey today.

Here, the Crown Prince met local girls and boys, who shared personal stories of everyday life in a country that is both struggling with poverty and the violent consequences of the climate crisis."

:previous: You are no doubt right.

The countries in the Sahel Belt of Sahara are particularly vulnerable to the climate changes, because Sahara is growing south and that will affect what few crops can grow there and also livestock - and at the same time the population is exploding!

A couple of things: The Minister for Development, Dan Jørgensen. He really should buy some bigger suits or start cycling to and from the ministry.
But while is the main-person in regards to the protocol it would be the Minister the local government is sucking up to, because he's the one with the money, the investments and the aid-packages.

And even though Frederik didn't even get close to the more dangerous areas in the north of this big country and visited a village in what must the outskirts of the capital, he was protected by FET agents and not the usual police officers from PET.
It only goes to show how serious the security situation in Niger is.

There are two FET agents in these two photos:

They smell to high heaven like the special forces they are and in Muslim countries they are often bearded, a beard being a sign a maturity in the rural area in particular of the countries they operate in.

All that in contrast to the PET officers who look like the archetypical Danish police officers they are. There is a bit Thompson and Thomson over them. AKA Dupond & Dupont.

:previous: Im sure security was extra tight.

His program was barely published after the majority of his trip was completed.

"It was difficult, but the jury managed to find a recipient for each of the three award categories:
Business Excellence: Shows outstanding practices in managing the organisation and achieving results
Green Solutions: Delivers exceptional initiatives and solutions hand in hand with the Sustainable Development Goals
Export Achievement: Has launched a highly efficient export initiative and successfully penetrated export markets or segments

To honour the fact that both large and smaller companies excel in promoting Danish solutions worldwide, at least one of the recipients must be an SME.

We can’t wait for 25 August when HRH Crown Prince Frederik will announce the recipients at the official award ceremony at Amalienborg Palace."

Thanks for the information. Nice to see that someone posted about this meeting. Interesting that this meeting apparently cannot be included in the calendar, but attending a ballet performance is not only included on the calendar but posted about on the DRF social media. :whistling:

I keep wondering about all the work Frederik does that no one ever knows about, yet there are now tabloids posting about how he needs to work more. Well, maybe if the DRF calendar was accurately updated, there would be a more full accounting of his work.

Time to close this thread. The new one can be found here.
