:previous: My pleasure :)

Indeed, this cause deserves much more attention.

Good grief I have never heard of an udder support!!!. Poor Muhler you must have had trouble looking your dear wife in the eyes straight after that little trip with your daughter. Kids are great with the innocent things they say. My mum has an encyclopeadic memory when it comes to strange and funny things her kids have said. Visiting Bangladesh would be a humbling experience whether you are a prince or not.

This is a thread about Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary and the Save the Children Fund, off-topic posts have been removed!

This Saturday morning Frederik has visited the Save the Children/ Red Barnet family experience club.
This event was listed on the Drf calendar but taken off a few days, not sure way.

"he today visited Assens family experience club and had a fun time in the woods.*A large birds nest was built and chicken was prepared for lunch.

"Here vulnerable families meet approximately once a month for events where the goal is to establish relationships and communities and provide positive experiences."

Precious pictures of Crown Prince Frederik in the forest with Denmark's exposed families. This is one of, or perhaps Frederik's very strongest characteristic; He is completely untouched og being royal, and he has very natural and very loving human qualities. He is so relaxed and trustworthy.

ALL the many very positive comments that are written are not needed to be translated. You can translate a few of them yourself and see they speak their clear language. I can translate one that describes the rest very well: "Crown Prince Frederik will be the best King we ever have had and ever will get!"

A nice gallery:

Notice 0.22 minutes into the video.... You can clearly see that Crown Prince Frederik has 2 little daughters with very long hair - see how he, as the most natural in the world, makes sure to swipes the girl's long hair behind her shoulders so it does not get stucked in the harness. :D

Perhaps it was never meant to be on the official calendar? Last years visit to another family club event (the fishing trip) wasn't on the calendar either.

Unfortunately, I think CP Frederik has many unofficial events. A few days ago I was looking for something and found a couple of photos and info about him attending a conference as patron of DenmarkBridge back in December last year. Nothing on the official calendar...

Frederik in his right element. Children and being eye to eye with ordinary people.

Short interview with Frederik

"This weekend, the Red Barn Family Experience Club Maribo was on an apple trip with H.K.H. Crown Prince!
They were both picked, ground and mashed, so that they eventually had the most delicious apple cheese. The children had a fantastic day - both because they experienced a lot at Fejø, but also because it was with our patron the Crown Prince.

With our family experience clubs, we want to create relationships and community and provide positive experiences for families who do not otherwise have as much profit in their everyday lives. And the weekend experience was one of the great ones"

As patron of Save the Children Denmark CP Frederik is in Jordan today, visiting the Zaatari refugee camp. The focus of the visit is on Save the Children's work with psycho-social support for refugee children.

Crown Prince Frederik is a wonderful patron for Save the Children Denmark!
I wonder if the visit is only today or until Saturday where he again is listet as regent in Denmark. We will see. Either that, or he will go to Switzerland. I guess this visit’s programme won’t be official due to security.

The Zaatari camp is a very large camp and not with the best facilities!

They basically lack everything.
Frederik visiting this camp in particular also highlights a special problem: Where do you concentrate your resources and where are the money best used?
On refugees who have, somehow, managed to reach your country where they wish to seek asylum?
Or on refugees in a camp nearer the conflict zone, in this case Syria.
The costs of accommodating one Syrian refugee in say DK, could improve life considerably for an X number of refugees in Zaatari - who may not have the resources, means or strength to make it to DK on their own.
It's an unpleasant dilemma.

I think Frederik has already left the area. That seems to be standard procedure. i.e. to inform of a visit in a sensitive part of the world around the time the DRF member or politician is leaving.

"A short time ago, I arrived at the Zaatari refugee camp in Jordan, where I visit most of today, together with Red Barn Secretary-General Johanne Schmidt-Nielsen and Minister for Development Cooperation Rasmus Prehn.
The focus of the visit is Save the Child's work with psychosocial support for children on the run. Together we will meet a number of children, both young and old, who, with their families, receive help and support from the Save the Children. About 78,000 refugees live in the camp and approx. half are children."

a great visit, and clearly his work agenda has not been altered with his arm injury. great news!

more photos, an TV interview coming up

"Is in the zaatari camp in Jordan together with Crown Prince Frederik, Secretary-General of the Red Barnet Johanne Schmidt-Nielsen and minister rasmus prehn.
It is about children, children who have been exposed to the horrors of war in Syria. Here, save the child is trying to fill up the holes so that the mental wounds that the scars have healed and they can grow up and become whole people.
They do so, among other things, through a football project.
We'll tell you more about that on Sunday in our 21 TV newspaper. Here you can. A watch the crown prince play football"

Thanks, Polyesco, Roskilde & Ricarda. :flowers:

The head of the Danish branch of Save the Children, Johanne Schmidt-Nielsen, is an interesting figure.
She was previously an MP and head of the Unity List - the most extreme left wing party in the Parliament. She was a very charismatic leader and while I disagreed very much with everything she stood for (and presumably still believe in) I respected her for her commitment and for being genuine, something not that common among politicians...
She was also a pragmatic in regards to politics, something previous leaders of her party were not. They had a tendency to be more absolute, politically speaking, and as such had very little political influence. But Johanne Schmidt-Nielsen was able and willing to compromise when needed buying her party some political influence.
As head of the Unity List she was in favor of a republic, not because she had anything personal against members of the DRF, she just believed they should be elected. - Some of her predecessors a few decades back would however have been willing to put members of the DRF (among others) up against a wall. They believed in turning DK into a people's republic a la the Soviet Union or China.
Johanne Schmidt-Nielsen had to leave the Parliament and also resign as leader of her party, because the Unity List has a rule about no members sitting in the Parliament for more than three periods (max 12 years). Perhaps not that bad an idea...

Now she is head of Save the Children, and she is no doubt a very dedicated, politically savvy, pragmatic and competent leader.

Crown Prince Frederik as Patron of Save the Children together with the Danish Minister of Development Rasmus Prehn and Save the Children's Secretary-General Johanne Schmidt-Nielsen visited the Zaatari refugee camp in Jordan on March 4.

"The visit took place on the occasion of Save the Children Denmark's 75th anniversary and focused on the work to strengthen the mental health and psychosocial well-being of children and young people in humanitarian crises".

A great picture and good ‘story’ from Frederik’s event today in this article:
https://sn.dk/Koege/Holocaustoverle...-af-kronprinsen-og-Red-Barnet/artikel/1354366

Joseph ‘Joop’ Vos survived the Holocaust with his Jewish parents. After WWII he came to Denmark as part of an #MHPSS program hosted by Danish Save the Child. Today he received a Lifetime Acheivement prize from HRH Crown Prince Frederik for his contributions to his community.

"As a patron, I myself have had the opportunity to follow Save the Children's work closely.*Both in Denmark and in the rest of the world.*In Denmark, I have seen how to strengthen children's mental health when children go out into nature and into communities.*Here they meet friends and regain confidence in themselves and the world around them, the Crown Prince said in his speech."
