Well I am still overjoyed by my encounter with M&F on Saturday! I still can't believe it.
The Opera House concert was lovely and thank you Roskilde for the photo of Mary's siblings.
The magazines are mainly about Prince George and smaller stories about M&F. Because they arrived later in the week and most events were before the photos etc could be included in the mags. I expect better coverage will feature next week.
Looking forward the awards night tonight. It will be sad to see them go but can safely assume that they will be back!
My daughter is begging us to go to Denmark for a holiday so you can add us to the statistics on business generated by such royal visits. We went to London earlier in the year and my husband said that whichever language I become fluent in, he will take me to that country next. So I best get studying!
I watch lots of the DR productions and also Swedish programmes. The languages have many differences.
Enjoy this last day of coverage.

It will be pretty tight time-wise. They are due to do a photo opportunity at 21.40hrs at the Opera House. That realistically leaves departures for Tokyo, Singapore and Hong Kong, then connect to SAS? from there?
They would have to have a taxiway clearance at the airport by 11pm to beat the night-time curfew.
Hope they make it as it means they will get home to the children sooner.

I was surprise to read that the Danish designer of the Opera house Jørn Utzon never saw it finish, that when they did the inauguration 40 years ago his name was not even mention, now he is dead but I thought it would have been apropiatte that may be one of his kids or even his wife were there with the CP couple to celebrate!

Interesting greenways. I just checked the diary on kongehuset website and Frederik is due in Israel on the 30th so maybe he will go straight from Sydney to that tour?
Thank you polyesco for the pics!

Hi gerry - you're very welcome, it's made the whole thing more fun for me too, being able to share.
It's 4.30pm Monday afternoon here, and I've just been face to face with CP Mary at the Opera House.
Mary and Frederick were driven off a little over an hour ago in seperate vehicles.
(Maybe CP Mary to have her hair done for tonight's event. She was just in a black UV car, with her lady in waiting. Frederick took the official car and all the vans of security people.)
Cheers, Sun Lion.

Hi Lady Rosie, Hi polyesco, Hi greenways.
I hope you are right about CP Mary being able to pop down toTasmania.
A lot of people I've just been standing with, in the crowd at the Opera House, were saying the same thing.
(All I saw on TV was that they were flying out tonight - and I assumed they meant out of Australia, not just out of Sydney - so maybe CP Mary will be with us a bit longer.)
Cheers, Sun Lion.
Face to Face with CP Mary an Hour Ago - Charming and Animated.
Hi everyone, I've just got home from going into the Opera House where M and F have been, from shortly before noon, until about 3.20pm (It's currently 4.45pm here and this morning's shocking downpour gave way to another blazing - thank goodnes for the Harbour breeze - and bright day.)
The official lunch was held in the Bennelong Restaurant. That is the small, front part of the Opera House -the two little sails, one going forward and one going back towards the main part of the building.
The whole resturant circles around and is completely glass and everything is visible.
A few police officers were stationed a short way from it to stop anyone going up and tapping on the glass, as it were, but I had a great chance to see CP Mary as she was positioned facing towards where I was, and her table was on that side of the building.
Yes, I can say I have well-seen Denmark's Crown Princess.
The lunch took a bit over two hours, then CP Mary popped into the Opera House gift shop on that level. (Perhaps souvenirs for the children?)
After that M and F did a rehersal, on stage, for tonight's "Prize" event. Some people who were on an Opera House tour got to watch them and told everyone as they came out.
The police officers were so lovely, telling us where they thought we could catch sight of the Royal Couple - around the Opera House complex, after lunch was over - and how best to get CP Mary to come over and shake your hand.
"100% she will come over to you, if you make a lot of noise, call out to her" etc, we were told. "If you don't, she will just wave and get into the car".
So we did, and it worked.
A young man standing behind me asked for her autograph and she said, - "We've decided we're not going to do that. But I can offer you a hand-shake".
She really is very-lovely looking - up close, in real life - many people commented on it when she had gone.
And she was totally charming and very lively.
(Another thing an officer told us was that she has a good sense of humour - so if we were able to think of anything funny to call out, that was another way to get her to come over to the crowd.)
So, another wonderful day.
Best Wishes Everyone,
Sun Lion.

Maybe NOT the hairdresser - Channel 9 showing footage of CP Mary shopping in Paddington after leaving the Opera House this afternoon.
Also showing footage of some of the patient's at the Princess Mary Cancer Centre who have receirved her numerous bouquets.
(Makes sense if she is going to Tassie tonight - strict quarantine rules there, no fruit, natural food, etc allowed passed those cute little sniffer dogs.)
Sun Lion.
P.S. M and F each shook the hands of everyone who attended the luncheon - 300 people.

Hi again Roskilde, Hi greenways,
Yes, marvellous, marvellous past few days. Exceeded my expectations entirely.
Someone in the crowd of well-wishers today said something like -"The Opera House, Mary and Frederik have been here so much, it's like they've moved in!"
Very generous with putting up with never a moment to themselves, and also, the staff around them, security and police - all really pleasant, helpful etc.
For Example: when M and F were in the Opera House today, some police officers moved one of the police escort motor-cycles around in front of the parked convoy of official cars so that a young woman could get on it and have her boyfriend takes some photos of her!
And, a few days ago, another police officer played "Boo!" - while sitting on his motor-cycle - with a little girl while we were waiting.
Things like this, combined with the marvellous weather, have made this visit really magical for all involved I think.
Sydney will seem very empty for the first few days after it's all over.
It's just 7.10pm here Roskilde - enjoy the "Prize" broadcast, and I'll look forward to seeing our version next Friday.
Best Wishes, Sun Lion.

The fact that both her sisters and Amber took the trouble to come to Sydney makes me think she will not travel to Tasmania this time.

There are quite a number of books and documentaries about Utzon and his opera project and not least all the internal political struggles about the project finances which eventually led to Utzon leaving the project. It's a fascinating story really.
I'm not even sure whether Jørn Utzon's wife is still alive. He himself was 90 when he died in 2008.
I've seen a picture somewhere of at least one of Utzon's sons in front of opera and of his daughter Lin Utzon and some younger persons who are probably Utzon's grand children.
Utzon has two sons, Jan and Kim, who are both architects, and a daughter Lin who is a very talented designer working with various arts crafts and textiles. She did a, IMO, very beautiful job in the 80s of decorating Volvo's head quarters in Sweden.
A HUGE thank you Sun Lion and Lady Rosie who faithfully turned up at these events to provide us with what felt like almost live coverage :-) and to everyone else who put up lots of links here for us to enjoy. It has been great following this trip with all this information.

And even better, Lady Rosie
Kronprinsparrets Kulturpris går til DRs Forbrydelsen og Borgen | Kultur | DR
It's DR's two drama series The Killing and Borgen which has just received The Crown Prince Couple's Culture Award.
It's the artistic forces behind the two drama series, who receives the award and the half a million Danish kroner. The receivers comprises both the authors and the two protagonists, directors as well as production designers and photographers.
Frederik and Mary and the advisory committee behind the awards point out, among other things, that the series goes further than just to the Danes.
- The two unique Danish TV series has delivered more than just excitement and drama. They create each a special universe out who has moved into the skin of not only a Danish audience, but also excited, worried and concerned far beyond Denmark's borders.
It was the actress Sofie Gråbøl, who received the award on behalf of the team behind 'The Killing', and actor Sidse Babett Knudsen and screenwriter Adam Price, who received the award on behalf of the team behind 'Borgen'.

The Crown Prince Couple's Social Award goes to Natteravnene "The Night Owls".
A very great choice IMO.
Natteravnene: Det er en fantastisk anerkendelse | Kultur | DR
The Night Owls consists of volunteers who walk around the streets and talk to children and young people. The organization consists of a number of volunteers who all over the country are moving around in the public domain in order to create security for young people.
The Crown Prince Couple chose to give The Night Owls the award because of the work the organization has put forth for children and adolescents.
- The Night Owl's mere presence and constructive talk with children and young people have several locations resulting in a decrease in vandalism, violence and other conflicts than 50 percent, says the royal couple.
- We are so wildly proud of it, says Leif Christiansen, Chief Consultant at Organization Night Owls.
- It's a fantastic recognition for the way we work. The price really gives us the desire and courage to continue the work to give children the joy of life and peace of mind when we meet them on the street as The Night Owls.
Also this award includes a half-million Danish kroner which the Night Owls now have to figure out how to use.
- We don't know for sure yet, but one possibility is to develop an app for smartphones that can show the activities that are being offered in different local areas - it could be anything from ballet to kickboxing. Because we are often greeted by children who don't know what to do, so this would be a good tool, says Leif Christiansen.
