And here is more from BB of M&F visiting the homeless shelter: Kronprinsparret på café: Mary og Frederik besøgte hjemløse | BILLED-BLADET
This particular shelter was the recipient of the CP-Couple Award in 2008. And they have kept an eye on the place since.
Apart from offering a meal. The place also distribute sleeping bags and clothes. And provide medical attention, physiotherapy, foot-therapy, a haircut and legal counseling.
If you wish me to tell you more about what is being done for homeless/rootless people, just let me know and I'll get more into the details.

a nice written and non silly article from the Dailymail, good to see.
Again good work by this organization, is homelessness a huge issue in Denmark. Either way nice that there are caring individuals offering support.
Great of Frederik and Mary to continue working with this organization they honored in 2008

»She has not only lived up to the expectations. She has surpassed them.«
»You can be a glowing royal supporter - or a strong anti royal - but very few will disagree that Crown Princess Mary is doing and has done well.«
Tomorrow, Denmark's Crown Princess Mary is presented Berlingske's Honorary Award 2017 in recognition of her remarkable work in the Danish community's service.
The serious newspaper Berlingske's Thomas Larsen paints a large portrait of the Crown Princess, who use her role unique to support people who need attention. And not only have lived up to the towering high expectations. She has surpassed them.
Article: "The Crown Princess who follows her heart."
»Hun har ikke blot levet op til forventningerne. Hun har overgået dem«'
ADDED:
As always with Frederik and Mary they are meetings up and supports each other's succes. Crown Prince Frederik are listed to participating at tomorrow's dinner.

New article from Berlingske:
Kronprinsessen bliver hædret for sit sociale engagement
"The qualities Berlingske wanted to honor the Crown Princess for is all about the special personal and social commitment she has shown throughout her work. Crown Princess Mary's look for and commitment to the socially disadvantaged and challenged groups is without doubt completely unique, whatever yardstick you choose," said Mads Bryde Andersen.
Then he outlined several of the Crown Princess's exposures in organizations such as Children's Day, Children, Youth & Sorrow, The Mothers help, The Christmas Seal Foundation, The National Association for Mental Health, The National Organization of Women's Crisis Centre and the Mental Health Foundation.
"By her person and her dedication serve the Crown Princess as a rolemodel not only for other role models, but for everyone with a commitment to the Dansh society we live in. Dear Crown Princess Mary: The Berlingske fund addresses a warm thank you to You for this great and disinterested contribution to the society and especially to it's weakest. And we thank you because you as a selection of this will receive the Berlingske Foundation's Honorary Award in 2017," completed Mads Bryde Andersen, before the Crown Princess walked to stage to applause.

Thanks for the many links and information Roskilde.
A well deserved recognition. Great that she donated the prize to one of the main issues she works on, bullying.
Hopefully we get pictures of the dinner, great that Frederik will attend again showing his support for Mary's work.

The ceremony and CP Mary's speech was well-provided in both main tv channel's news tonight. Berlingske Fund stated: The work Crown Princess Mary performs is far greater than you would expect. Much less work could do it. She is very trustworthy and therefore we assigned her our Honorary award.

Great words to CP Mary from newspaper BT's leader column:
"BT means: It is an absolute good choice that the Berlingske's Honorary Award this year went to Crown Princess Mary.
You can feel that she has her heart with her in everything she does. Whether you experience her in a refugee camp in Kenya or a schoolyard in Copenhagen, you is impressed by how present she is. She's never in a hurry to move on, but always has time to listen to those she visits.
Crown Princess Mary's social work and her winning personality has the last ten years grown to become one of the best reasons to preserve the Danish royal family.

That is rich - and deserved praise indeed.
However, one should perhaps point out the the tabloid BT and the serious newspaper Berlingske belongs to the same publishing house.

Summary of article in Billed Bladet #03, 2017.
Written by Ulrik Ulriksen.
As you know a beaming Mary recently received the Berlingske Foundation's Honorary Award.
The chairman of the foundation said that the Crown Princess have superseded the expectations the Danes had for her as an important member of the DRF and that her dedication for the Danish community was nothing short of impressive.
But also as an recognition as patron for and starter of many projects helping vulnerable and exposed groups in the community.
Mary in her return speech said: "I can hardly find words to describe how moved this makes me.
Thank you very much. It's a great honor and pleasure for for me to receive the Berlingske Foundation's Honorary Award. It means so much for the work I in co-operation many other contribute with to the Danish society is being seen as significant and I'm honored to be included in the grand company which the list of previous recipients constitute.
I've decided to pass on the award money for 100.000 DKK to the Alliance Against Bullying. A co-operation between Save the Child, The Plight of Children and the Mary Foundation. With the Alliance Against Bullying we stand even stronger in the work in putting an end to bullying and through a co-ordinated effort we will together support the schools in working in a co-ordinated way and continuously in preventing and alleviating bullying. Bullying is not about evil children, but about evil patterns, and that's why bullying must be fought by working with the culture and in strengthening the feeling of community".
Even though the year is already well on its way I'll allow myself to say Happy New Year - and may the new year be one of understanding and community".
Mary wasn't the only recipient thought. Two journalists were also awarded for their work in Ukraine and Russia.
Afterwards it was beaming and delighted Frederik who escorted his wife to Restaurant Le Sommelier where the award-winners were celebrated.

Thanks, Eya & Polyesco
Did Frederik get a fly in the eye? Judging from his facial expressions and bewildered look.
