Well he left his coat out in the nave and ther he cut have combed his hair infront of a mirror in the nave.
I think that if Queen Margrethe did not wear her hat and the wind was blowing she woud have combed her hair.
I honestly can´t se any excuse for prince Henrik not doing the same.

As for Mary's headpiece, people need to make the distinction between the color of the headpiece and its design. For me the color makes a contrast with Mary's dark hair and her blue jacket...So, in that sense, it was nice..BUT the design

I have to agree with you here on the baby. When he was a newborn he had that "plastic baby" look to him. Like one of my daughters toys. But he does look much better now with some weight on him. I don't think he is "handsome" but he is achieving "a baby cuteness" about him with his chubby cheeks!
I do hate to see any child sucking on anyone's finger! It's a dirty habit.
As for Mary's attire, I hated the headpiece the first moment I saw it, but after going thru this thread, it started to grow on me.
I hope her jacket kept her warm, because her dress was certainly something she should have saved to wear in Spring. Her jacket would have looked much better paired with a skirt of the same material and then her head piece would have looked much better. All in all, her out fit was way to "busy". Nice, but very busy.

I too think that he should have taken an extra look in a mirror before entering the church, or at least someone (the Queen) should have told him his hair was messed up. But I guess he is like every other man, not caring to much about his hair doo. That hair did annoy me, but I reacted more to the fact that he looked like he was so bored during the sevice, not paying attention to the ceremony going on.

Crown Princess Mary's overall outfit was astouding.
Love the head gear. Something different.
Despite the cold weather, her outfit warms the church
and those around her.
Kronprinsparret & baby Prins Christain looks wonderful, lovely
& very happy as a new Royal family. Simply lovely.
Despite negative views from some.

Its amazing, When Chrisitan was first born people were calling her a bad mother because Federick carried him around and now she is overprotective for holding him. I dont get it. Who wins. You also have to remember that this is being seen around the world and Mary has to be EXTRA carefull so no misshap happens during the ceremony with the baby. I dont think the baby is handsome either but he is definitly cute, especially when he smiles. He has Federicks head though and Marys face.

I think he had to work or something like that. At least I think that was what was said. The same went for Mary's sister-in-law and her brothers-in-law.
Great pictures from the guests arriving at the private party. Thank you for posting them Larzen. Hope you or someone else is able to find more of these.:)

.
i was just missing a picture where Frederik holds his son that is all. I have not said he was ugly the little prince. i think he has grown cuter by time. And i certailly didnt say Mary was a bad mother. Just because you are an overprotec´tive mother doesnt mean you are a bad mother. i think you misunderstood me. all i wanted was to see Frederik hold his son. i have never seen that yet

I wasnt refering directly to what you were saying. There is just a lot of that and I wanted to address it. The looks part didnt apply to you. I think he is a very cute baby but not the most handsome.

If you compare Henrik and John one difference is the fact that John has noticeable thicker hair which makes any confusion due to the wind less appearant
I love Henrik's tie. It almost feels like it was Frederik giving advice to his father.
Suzanne Moody looks like she's got a stick in her back to sit right up on the chair. She really looks uneasy and .... moody.

I understand your point of view, but I suppose it depends on the occasion and the baby.
It's natural that they choose crown princely people for a future crown prince, along with personal friends and siblings.
They did choose crown prince Pavlos (Frederik's cousin) but not his wife as godparent. It simply suggests to me they are not so familiar with her. Pavlos and Frederik spent a lot of summers together when they were children, but I don't think neither Frederik nor Mary have socialised a lot with Marie-Chantal.
In my opinion they could have chosen either Gustav, Alexandra or Nathalie of Berleburg instead of the Australian guy who won't have much influence on the boy anyway all the way from Australia.

Personally, I would say the red bucket on her head.

I notice Susan Moody didn't curtsey to the Queen or Prince Henrik as they walked past her.
I think that Mary's headgear was very sweet and suitable for a Christening. For me, the best dressed was Queen Anne-Marie. Benedikte's outfit looked like a stall at a jumble sale tottering along to a Christening. I noticed Princess Elisabeth had trouble walking - or it seemed that way. And Alexandra seemed to blank her when she first arrived.

I have a stupid question! Have they shaved the head of the little Prince? On TV it looked like that.
