Sheikh Omar bin Zayed Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, married Sheikha .. bint Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi, the daughter of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, on 1 April 2013.

The wedding was held at Al Mushrif district in Abu Dhabi.

Wow, so many new marriages! Is there a special season where weddings are prevered in the UAE,or do they marry at all times (except Ramadan and when a family member has died)?
Here in Europe we favor the spring time,especially May and also other warm months are popular-early summer and autumn go as well.Very unlikely season is December!
Many couples like to chose special dates like 8.8.1988 or some date that contains what they believe is their "lucky" number :)

The wedding ceremony was held at Corniche Wedding Hall in Ras Al Khaimah.

It also seems like more members of the Alnahyan Family are also getting married tomorrow, they're having some sort of multiple weddings happening tomorrow.

I assume you are talking about Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan bin Khalifa?If so, his wedding took place today.
 
Yes Dazzling thank you for replying, I guess I must of misunderstood the dates. Just curious did he married a cousin? Hopefully someone would posts pics if their wedding on the social media

Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan bin Khalifa al Nahyan married Shaikha Shamsa bint Sultan bin Hamdan al Nahyan. She is a cousin of him.

You are welcome! We have different marriage tradition. Bride and groom celebrate the event of their wedding seperated. There will be no pics of groom and bride together shown for public.

Thanks Majed for educating us on your fascinating culture and traditions. ? I have a question, when sheikhs marry a cousin, is that considered an arranged marriage? I guess it would be, Otherwise they could pick a non family member to fall-in love with and marry, but that doesn't seem to be the norm within UAE royals? At least I've never read of any emirati royals marrying outside of their family but I could be wrong.
